Established by Jackson Tan in 2013, SPORES_Studio is recognized for its work in architecture, interior and interactive design. Through strategic thinking, the team of architects and designers from SPORES_Studio strives to pursue value in design and seeks to transform the boundaries of fantasy into reality in their every project.
At the heart of the studio work is a strong commitment to finding innovative design solutions, with a dedication to artistic
thinking and the latest potential of materials and craftsmanship. This is achieved through a working methodology of
collaborative rational inquiry, undertaken in a spirit of curiosity and experimentation.
The practice has worked in many countries, with a
wide range of commissioners and in a variety of regulatory environments. Through this experience, the studio has acquired
a high level of expertise in the design and realisation of unusual projects.
The studio work includes a number of significant projects in Asia and Europe, including exhibition design at London Science
Museum, Munich Fraunhofer Institue, Latvia RIXC Gallery and the National Arts Museum of China. Other notable works
include the reception for London Headquarter of China Central Television, concept cafes for Hong Kong Sir Hudson Group
and pop up store for prestigious UK retailer Harvey Nichols at Knightsbridge.
Jackson currently holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Singapore University of Technology and Design and is also a core design studio instructor with the National University of Singapore. His research and works were published and funded by UK Arts Council, UK National Lottery Fund and UK Arts and Humanities
Council. Since 2008, Jackson is a registered architect with the UK Architectural Registration Board.
