I was blown away by Bonnie's professionalism, talent and impeccable taste. Because of her, I will have the most beautiful bathroom that I couldn't have even imagined. She is responsive and understood what I was going for. Her idea to put the shower faucet on the wall close to the door, so I don't have to walk into the shower to turn it on, was brilliant! I am so grateful to have had Bonnie's expertise and am now looking for other projects so the rest of my house can look as good.

We recently did a master bath remodel and we had Bonnie as our designer. We love her! I am a big one on communication and she did not disappoint. She would return calls and texts almost immediately. She provided great guidance in choosing products. We had a certain budget and she was mindful of not directing us to something that was too expensive. We went with all of her design suggestions and our bathroom is gorgeous. We will definitely use her for more projects! Our entire project was enjoyable.

I worked with Bonnie for my home remodel, and she was absolutely amazing to work with. My home is beautiful and functional, and I could not be happier. My project included a significant remodel of the main floor including demolition and structural changes, new floors, a new kitchen, a new powder room and changes to my family room and living room. Boy was Bonnie worth it! I knew we would need a designer for a project as large as a kitchen, especially after just hiring one of those bathroom remodel companies to do our 2 bathrooms. That was a terrible experience! So we spent the money and hired Bonnie hoping she could capture what we imagined and hoping she had preferred contractors she works with. First off, our first meeting was very professional she came with her tools and laptop to show us her portfolio and use her software to measure our entire space. She gave us a few referrals for contractors and met us to interview the contractors so she could relay her design to them and make sure we were all on the same page. All I had to do was approve the budget! They spoke about measurements and design. Levi and Tom did an amazing job with everything. When they set up a barrier to keep our living space clean since it would take 2 ish months, we already knew this was going to be a better experience than the bathrooms. They went through the demo and basic building (the dirty stuff) pretty quick! A few weeks? Whenever they had design or material questions they just went to Bonnie then if we had to order something she would just order it or give us a few options. Like for the 32 cabinet door pulls we had to order. She was super easy to get a hold of and she sent us all sorts of ideas as we moved forward. I think her preferred vendor list made the whole experience soooooo much easier. Thank you Bonnie our new kitchen is fantastic!!!

5 stars isn't enough to give to Bonnie! We all know construction can be a headache and Bonnie was the one calm factor through my season of chaos during construction. She took the design of my home from a B- to an A++++. What I love about Bonnie is her attention to detail and understanding what the client wants/ needs for their home to be their dream home. I was blown away after a meeting with Bonnie in that she was able to bring to a design to concept that I was struggling to verbalize and spent hours trying to figure out what was missing in it. She is incredibly responsive and friendly and never made me feel like I was being too needy with all my questions. Bonnie communicated with my contractor changes that should be made that was overlooked by him and I would have been so disappointed if we finished construction and invested so much money to have a mediocre design and flow. Bonnie is worth every penny for your sanity and without a doubt will help you execute your DREAM design.

I discovered Bonnie on Houzz during one of my many attempts to find a designer for our downstairs remodel. I instantly appreciated the attention to detail in all her projects, and from our first appointment I instantly felt completely at ease with the working relationship. Bonnie's design sense is stellar; she knows her craft and the industry inside and out. She is a wonderful communicator and instantly accessible. I could ask about light fixtures and within an hour she'd be texting me several options. But what I most valued during this multi-month kitchen, living room, office, bathroom, dining room, and laundry remodel was how while her hand was on every piece of the process -- from architectural design, to shopping trips for tiles and flooring, from colors to textures, from faucets to finishes, I always also felt like she was listening to me and that she could seamlessly work in my ideas into part of the cohesive plan. Her responsiveness, guidance, and ability to always make me feel like I was valued was just so incredibly appreciated. My husband and I were in a bind when we had to let go of our initial contractor and designer. We were very desperate and frustrated with what was happening with our home remodeling project. After an exhaustive search, we found Bonnie from Signature Designs Kitchen. From our initial meeting with Bonnie we were impressed by her ability to grasp our project needs and develop a plan that didn't delay construction. Bonnie was able to engage midstream and walk us through every design decision. Bonnie went above and beyond for us and her design and consultations were instrumental to the success of our project. It took me a while to do this review, but I am so happy to be able, finally, to comment on working with Bonnie on the complete redesign of my kitchen. I am new to Southern CA and was living in the house for just 3 months when I started looking on Houzz for a kitchen designer in the area whose designs resembled my taste, but also provided me with ideas different from my taste. Bonnie’s photos and designs showed how talented and creative she was so I decided to take a chance and speak with her about my kitchen remodel. I am so pleased I did!! Right from the beginning, we hit it off. I am a very decisive person and usually know what I want. So when I voiced my ideas, Bonnie not only embraced them, but also enhanced some of them with her own ideas. I told her this was to be the kitchen I always wanted with many features, appliances and ideas I picked up during my many international travels over the years. She always kept that in mind as we worked on the drawings. Once those were finalized, Bonnie brought in a general contractor in the area that she had worked with before and whom she trusted with this ambitious project. But she did not leave it there. She was here many times throughout the project to ensure the general contractor understood the vision we had for the kitchen and got things right. As far as the design went, Bonnie was a stickler for detail making sure the kitchen looked finished. She made sure the spaces between the cabinets and the cabinet’s ends had a finished look. She provided me with great resources for the appliances, lighting, custom hood for the range, decorative tile for over the French range and so many other things that I would have overlooked without her guidance. In addition, since I have a small family room off of the kitchen with a fireplace she helped me reframe the fireplace with matching marble to the marble countertops in the kitchen. I really enjoyed working with Bonnie because she listens to her clients to understand their vision, provides great suggestions and resources to help fulfill her client’s vision and tirelessly works with her clients from start to finish. I would recommend her to anyone seeking a kitchen and/or bath designer. In fact, I am hoping she will help me redesign and remodel my two bathrooms. Thank you, Bonnie for your wonderful work.

What initially attracted us to Bonnie was her ability to reimagine a space. Bonnie transformed an undersized kitchen, dining room and living room into a grand kitchen and dining area. From the beginning, the stress of a several-month renovation was minimal as we were continually assured through actions and progress by a team of professionals who exceeded all our expectations. Her design checked literally every box on our wish list, even including custom made items when what we wanted didn’t already exist. She tailored our space to fit our needs and lifestyle in a way that was fresh yet traditionally timeless. Comparable to her amazing abilities are the individual craftsmen she chooses to work with. Her team was fantastic, and relatively small, which ensured the upmost quality (we truly appreciated only seeing a few familiar faces in our home each day, it never felt like a revolving door of strangers.) I wish I could add 5 more stars to this 5-star rating! I truly feel lucky to have found Bonnie, owner of Signature Designs. After months of working with an architect to redesign a 1950's Ranch Style home in Rancho Santa Fe, CA, we hired Bonnie to help with the kitchen design. With Bonnie's expertise, she not only added much-needed elements in the kitchen (windows!!), she added and revised some very important design elements throughout the entire 3200 sq. ft. house. Bonnie did this with consideration and respect for all involved. And her revisions were invaluable. It was a true joy working with Bonnie throughout the remodel. From the very beginning, she asked the right questions: design style, budget, scope of project. And she listens! She took my vision and added her exquisite taste to help me choose appliances, fixtures and materials. Her knowledge of construction and building process is incredibly valuable to one who knows nothing! When our contractor called with questions, she was available at a moment's notice to help make important decisions. In fact, Bonnie is one of the most responsive people I have ever worked with. She answers emails and texts literally on the spot! It's so refreshing. Bonnie truly helped remake this 1950's home into a gorgeous, contemporary, warm and stunning home. It was a collaborative project in all respects, and again, I was incredibly lucky to have found a fun and talented designer to make it all come to life.

Bonnie’s design of our kitchen and fireplace beautifully transformed our 14-year old custom home, taking it from a dysfunctional rustic and outdated look to a beautiful California modern style. We bought the home last year and since we are relatively new to the area, I searched online for a designer whose work matched our overall style preferences, high quality needs, and expectations. Signature Designs and Bonnie’s great reputation and portfolio really stood out as the best, and we were so happy to be able to work with her. After an initial phone call and then on-site consultation, we signed the contract to start the process. This was our first extensive remodel so not sure what to expect - Bonnie really helped us throughout the entire project. After detailed measuring and discussion of our design vision and needs, the plan was created/reviewed/approved, and Bonnie introduced us to an excellent local contractor to complete the work. She continuously managed the project providing her expertise, helping to clarify design elements and keep everything on track. We are so pleased with the results! To modernize the look for both the kitchen and fireplace, we had to overcome a few challenges in our open-plan great room, including unmovable load bearing wood-beam columns, wood ceilings and accents everywhere. The kitchen looked dark with competing old-style wood cabinets, ugly brown and orange speckled granite, extremely limited storage, a weird L-shaped extension in the small island for the stove top, and other awkward appliance placement creating an inefficient small galley design. Bonnie’s new kitchen design included beautiful taupe glazed stain cabinets, with a combination of drawers (love them!) and doors, all Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances that were in better locations for ease of use. She recommended a Taj Mahal quartzite countertop for one side and a black soapstone for the island. The island was redesigned to include counter seating and positioned seamlessly with the wood beam column. Island storage was expanded by 100%, and now has a huge countertop workspace! She reclaimed dead space in our adjoining laundry room to create a new coffee bar area in the kitchen, while right-sizing and updating the laundry room area as well. What was a tiny dark galley space is now a light and spacious gourmet kitchen, much more functional with tons of storage! And, the fireplace is now stunning! It was in even worse shape originally, divided in two areas with a big dark space on one side for a bulky old-style TV and a large fireplace on the right, with a load bearing beam in the center preventing us from using our large flat panel TV or make an entertainment center. Bonnie’s design removed all of the wood and stone and replaced it with large dramatic looking tiles, space for our 82” flat panel TV and a dramatic 80” linear gas fireplace that now effectively heats the entire great room. The total cost of the complete remodel was $120K. Overall, it was a great experience and we highly recommend Bonnie! She is awesome to work with, always pleasant and professional. Her design expertise, connections with quality cabinet and appliance suppliers, and overall expert project management helped us to quickly complete our remodel with beautiful “WOW” results.

Elegance and functionality. Our new kitchen is everything we hoped for. Our designer, Bonnie Catlin, listened to our wishes and delivered. We updated our almost 20 year old kitchen with new cabinets- classic, white shaker style with a few glass front doors, custom drawer organizers, and soft, champagne gold hardware that goes perfectly with our existing stone floors and the centerpiece of our kitchen, the blue, quartzite island countertop with a waterfall edge. When Bonnie asked us about color in our design, we told her that we loved the blue of our backyard pool that can be seen from our kitchen windows and glass patio doors. She used that blue as an inspiration when choosing the glass tile backsplash and quartzite countertop. The soft blue colors help bring the outdoors in and blend the two spaces our family enjoys the most. As plans sometimes change during a remodeling project, we realized we needed to update our appliances; yet this change ended up being the most wonderful addition to our design. Bonnie introduced us to Justin at Ferguson Appliances and they both patiently walked us through the process of choosing the best appliances for our needs. We even shared many laughs- who knew choosing a fridge could be so fun? When we were ready to order the latest Cove dishwasher, there was a waiting list of a few months, but Bonnie and Justin worked their magic and got it to us the following week. Our new appliances are seamlessly built into the kitchen design. Bonnie and her wonderful team from MC Construction made our Sub-Zero column refrigerator and freezer be completely flush with our cabinets, and they added a shaker panel to our dishwasher to blend in nicely with our lower cabinets. Another impressive feature is the sleek, modern Wolff cooktop that Blackstone Granite and Marble made to be flush with the countertop. The new appliances keep the visual lines of our kitchen clean and open. The finishing touches are what make a kitchen really come together. Bonnie selected decor for our kitchen that is elegant and elevated. She worked with Danielle Carranza to choose a beautiful capiz chandelier for our kitchen table that goes so well with our champagne gold faucet and hardware. Bonnie also added a pretty centerpiece to the table that pulls the room together. We love it! It was a pleasure to work with Signature Designs Kitchens and Baths. Bonnie is the ultimate professional. Her communication is prompt, clear, and respectful, and she manages her team of professionals so well. It is no surprise to us that Bonnie has won many awards for her beautiful designs. Her vision for our kitchen was more than we could have hoped for, and we are so very happy to share the secret of our wonderful experience with all of our friends.

We have just finished a complete redesign of our kitchen, family room, laundry room on the lower floor of our 25 year old home. Although my wife is also a designer, we brought in Bonnie because of her expertise in kitchen design and the excellent recommendations on Houzz. The project is simply stellar, a modern design that did not involve any major architectural changes, except for the removal of a soffet in the kitchen area. After working out a design over several weeks, we took on converting our copntractors kitchen to a modern design. She was extremely attentive, always available by phone/text...."Bonnie on the spot". Design, material selection, vendor recommendations, and suggestion for the general contractor (MC Construction) with whom she has worked on many projects. Like all major remodels, we had to adjust the plan on the fly....worked like a charm. No problem went unresolved, with innovative creative solutions. The challenge was to integrate the design with our recently redesigned landscape (designed by Kohei Owatari, also found through Houzz). We have what I think is an award winning project.

Recently I renovated my master bath and kid's bathroom with the help of Bonnie. I literally met with 6 different designers before hiring her. What I appreciated most about her was that she was transparent in her opinions and seemed very 'real'...unlike other stuffy designers. I came into the project with a lot of inspiration already...that scared others off...not Bonnie.. Not to mention, I wanted to interview and hire my own contractor. Other designers prefer that you work with their preferred contractor (likely because they get a cut), but again, Bonnie gave me that flexibility. If you've ever remodeled a bathroom or kitchen, you know there are millions of little decisions to be made. If I was going to spend $70k on two bathrooms, I wanted to be sure I had no regrets and I didn't trust myself to make all the decisions. I had a lot of 'vision' going into the project, but I didn't know where to start. More than anything, I needed someone to get the ball rolling for me and be there to answer questions throughout the 2 months of construction.. I think Bonnie's greatest strength is her communication. No matter the time of day, I always had an answer almost immediately. Given how stressful all this can be, her communication really helped ease the process. That by itself was worth it's weight in gold.

After a plumbing leak we needed to remodel our kitchen. Since the remodeled was not planned, we really had no idea where to start. Working with Bonnie was fantastic! We have been enjoying our stunning new kitchen for one year now, and will be forever grateful to Bonnie for making it a reality! The layout of our home limited the options available when we decided to renovate our second floor kitchen. Bonnie’s brilliant idea was to slightly re-route the stairs which immediately gave us a more workable space. She then designed the room to take full advantage of our ocean views. Bonnie guided us through the process of selecting cabinets, flooring, fixtures, appliances, paint, fabrics, furniture, tile and more. Bonnie helped us with a complete redo of our kitchen and Powder Room. We also replaced an out-dated fireplace, added new flooring and created a doorway to the exterior deck. Her idea to install French doors to replace an old window seat created a more efficient use of space. Our kitchen, beautiful and updated, has more storage and counter space. Our Powder Room has better flow due to moving a wall and enclosing the toilet. We are most appreciative of Bonnie's eye for design, color and blending of textures and materials. We didn't want to hire someone that pushed their own design. We wanted to be part of the process.. Our master bed and bath came out much nicer then we expected. Bonnie works quick and efficiently...We can't wait to use Bonnie on our next project. Strongly recommended!

I cannot stress enough how pleased I am with the quality of work I received from Bonnie. I met her at a kitchen event. My husband and I were in the initial phase of remodeling our kitchen, laundry room and bath. We basically had no idea what we were doing. Bonnie came to our house measured our kitchen, laundry room and bath. They were all blank shells and she was able to design a kitchen, bath and laundry room layout that was functional and beautiful. In addition, our contractor suggested we go to a big store to get the cabinet, the layout they did was not satisfactory, and was way expensive. The same cabinets that the big store quoted us for the kitchen only cost more than the exact same cabinets Bonnie got us for the kitchen, laundry room and bathroom. Even though our remodel took a very long time, contractor was slow, Bonnie was still available to us until the end. There was an issue with a drawer and Bonnie took care of it 9 months after we ordered the cabinets. I would hire her again in a minute and if I did not already have an interior designer hired, I would have had her as our interior designer too.

Bonnie's design services have been invaluable for our kitchen remodel. From our very first meeting with Bonnie, we were extremely impressed with Bonnie's ability to translate our vision for the space into a reality. Bonnie has a great eye for color, shapes and textures. She is in tune with current trends in design, and she has a knack for adapting these trends to the needs of the client. She helped create designs for our bathrooms incorporating unusual stones, tiles and layouts that has completely transformed the spaces and made them pop. She did a similarly good job with her design suggestions for our Master Bedroom renovation. I would recommend her services highly.

I hired Bonnie to design my kitchen because her ideas sounded good. I paid for her service and then she brought her cabinet company whose storefront she was working out of , for the purchasing and installation of her design. I assumed that she understood design and space. She does not. She came out and measured 3 times and acted like she knew what she was doing. She used CAD to put the kitchen design in. The problem was that when the cabinets arrived, we realized that her dimensions where so off that there where cabinets that wouldn’t fit when they go to the house and a wall that she “forgot” was there. She actually drew cabinets that when placed would only leave 2 feet to walk between. She then came out to look and would not take responsibility, even when the cabinet company, (that she recommended and worked on with other jobs, that I later found out she also destroyed the design and they where left picking up the pieces) said that she needs to right the wrong. The cabinet company, contractor and I where left with the disaster. I actually had to pay a contractor to move a wall in order to have the refrigerator and a pantry fit. Basically I got less than ¾ of the expensive cabinetry and working space that Bonnie ordered and to fit , that was based on her design and CAD drawings. She came back one time and when she saw all the extra cabinets she acted like it was no big deal, but even laying them out on the floor, we couldn’t get them in the space. After that, she refused to come back out and didn’t answer my calls. I had to decide on my own with the cabinet company, where to place the cabinets. Thank goodness for the cabinet company who had a designer on staff who came out (for free) and helped with the disaster and we basically muddled through the best we could, which was so upsetting because we had to go backwards and just place the cabinets where ever we can and the cabinet company had to lose money on some of the extra pieces and I had to lose the space and design that I was promised. Hiring Bonnie was a very expensive mistake and I am so upset that I didn’t get the kitchen I wanted.

Bonnie is a very good designer, patient, and helpful in several ways. She understood what we needed from the start, came up with interesting ideas, and even planned out my lighting in less than 15 minutes. She emailed pictures of appliances, other kitchens, design ideas, lighting ideas and helped us select countertops and cabinets. She is patient. Four designs and five months later we are still undecided what to do in the kitchen. At this point we have decided to pay her hourly. Throughout a family illness, religious holidays, a broken drain pipe under the foundation, a steady stream of summertime relatives, and the complication of a kosher kitchen, Bonnie kept up with our changes and answered my phone calls promptly, even after long delays on my part. She was very helpful. She created a powder room layout, and helped me decide on paint color for our fireplace without an extra fee. I was inspired to change some minor structures in our kitchen and she referred me to several contractors, plumbers, and electricians as well as giving aesthetic advice on what opening or wall should stay and what should go. I also liked that she was ok to settle on a fee for her design work up front without obligation to buy from her vendors. She used a color computer rendering only on the first design and allotted one hour for site visits. I think we met at least 6-7 times. The only downside was that although cabinet measurements and appliance placements were well defined, I needed more details to understand where my stuff would go in the designs and, besides the first computer rendering, a clearer picture of how our kitchen would look. For people who want fun and innovative ideas, who are quick to know what they want and who rely on architects and contractors for detail, she is phenomenal.

Bonnie is an excellent designer and a pleasure to work with. She is both creative and professional and came up with many exciting suggestions for the kitchen design and execution. She was able to spice up the client's tendency toward muted, conservative colors by adding a touch of color and an active pattern for the tile backsplash. And when an inevitable issue came up with supplier stock and lead times she went out of her way to find the necessary parts from another source and prevent any hold up to the project.

I discovered Bonnie when I happen to be shopping around getting ideas for redecorating my home. It must have been fate, as I was not looking for a designer. I took her card and then lost it and had to go back to the store to find her. She came to my home and did a walk through to get an idea of what she would be working with, as i'm doing this in phases. We spoke about what I liked and I viewed some design books, but once the review was over, Bonnie went right to work designing my living area, entry way, powder room and kitchen. It was absolutely fabulous! I never thought of the design the way she did and it worked out perfect. The first phase was my lighting throughout the downstairs living area, entry way, and kitchen and adding several hanging lights and can lighting. The she redid the powder room with new lighting, a floating sink, and used a cool green subway tile behind the sink on the wall. Absolutely stunning. My next phase will be my flooring and fireplace and the design she did was awesome. Phase 2 will start in the spring of 2014 and i can't wait.

General Contractors love it when the designer is organized and effective…. And when she has happy clients when we show up. We worked with Bonnie a few years ago and she fits the bill… an absolute joy to work with. The only bummer is she relocated from Seattle to San Diego…. lucky for So Cal I guess.

One day I came across a design by Bonnie Bagley, right here on the Houzz site. I was looking for a modern design for our beach condo and I really liked her style. Bonnie did an outstanding job assisting us with the creation of our beach condo. She was also very knowledgable about the latest building materials, building codes, and practices. My husband and I hired Bonnie to help us with a remodel of our home in Snohomish, WA. I would HIGHLY recommend her as she is very easy to work with, personable, always on time, and is very budget conscious. We explained to her what we were thinking for the kitchen and master bath and she went to work! She gave us several plans from which to choose and did so in a timely manner - so timely, in fact, that my husband asked her at one point if we didn't owe her more money. She said we did not and it was weeks later before we actually did owe additional funds. She listened to exactly what we wanted and designed to meet our desires and needs. She helped us with materials that we were using and offered many helpful suggestions (that we always used). She met with our contractor and even explained him how he could structurally design the top of our breakfast bar after he had told us it was not possible. He told us later that he was really impressed with Bonnie's knowledge of actual construction and design. I think he has used that style in his building after our project. Again, I would not hesitate to recommend her. She stayed within our budget and gave us a most beautiful project.

We hired Bonnie Bagley Catlin to guide us through a down sizing of our home. We lived in a 5000 sq ft home and wanted to move to a condo. She guided us to which property to buy and ultimately we choose two units to combine to a fine 3000 sq ft Penthouse in the Sky! We were more than thrilled by the outcome of the construction project, even though we spared no expense we couldn't be more please by the attention to detail, the follow through she executed even while she was in another state. We had bi-weekly meetings on the job site to view the progress on the design that fully implemented before we began construction.
