I’m so glad that Sidney was in the store the day I wandered into Ethan Allen to browse. She did a fantastic job of helping me select some furniture, fabrics, and rugs for a new apartment in a building under construction, and she even visited when the building was accessible to make sure everything – new and old – would fit perfectly in the space. The items look wonderful in my new home, and I get great complements from everyone who has visited. And that is all thanks to Sidney’s knowledge and good design sense. I would highly recommend her. I am pleased to recommend Sidney as a talented and creative design consultant! I've been very impressed with her knowledge of design principles, her artistic sense, and her commitment to understand her clients in order to best serve their needs. Because of Sidney's warm and engaging personality, working with her was truly a delightful experience. Sidney helped me refurnish my living room which began with the purchase of a sofa. She visited my home and created a personalized long term plan that we have been working from for several years. After purchasing a beautiful sofa, it was over a year before I was able to make several additional purchases. During that time, Sidney stayed in touch, informing me of current sales but was always considerate of my budget limitations. When I was ready to move ahead, Sidney skillfully organized fabrics and rug samples, and suggested furniture styles to make the selection process efficient and easy. Although I relied on her expertise and judgment, I felt very much a part of all decisions that were made. I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome! I've referred Sidney to several friends and they share my enthusiastic assessment of her as an exceptional and motivated interior designer.

Sidney was such a JOY to work with. She is very talented and gave me a lot of design suggestions and perspective. Her organizational skills are excellent and made my project much easier because she had control of the numbers and the delivery schedule. I felt completely comfortable with the final decisions on my headboard, my dust ruffle and my cornices and Sidney was very patient and helpful in finalizing my order. Thank you Sidney!

I had the pleasure of working with Sidney recently as I redecorated my living room. Her expertise was invaluable to me. She took the time to understand what I liked and the pieces I needed, and then expanded my palette by introducing options I would not have otherwise considered. She also explained how the different items and looks could work together. While I loved most of what she showed me, she was never offended or put off when I identified things I did not like. My living room looks incredible and her input is the reason l am so happy with the final result. I so appreciate all of her time and talent and so grateful it was her who greeted me the day I walked into Ethan Allen.

I loved working with Sidney, she listened to me carefully and considered everything; size, placement, comfort, practicality and cost. She made some suggestions that surprised me, but were really spot on! I couldn’t be happier with my purchases. I’d use her again in a minute!

Sidney is incredible! She helped us with a condo a few years back and we loved her work so much that when we moved into our forever house she was the first person we called. She has continued to translate our thoughts and “rough” visions into reality! From entire rooms to accessories, Sidney has done an incredible job and I can’t recommend Sidney enough.

It was time for a redo of our family room and Sidney was the perfect designer for the task. Most importantly up front she was a good listener. I wanted to lighten the room and she discussed various ways we could go about making that happen. She also quickly figured out the color palette and fabric designs I was attracted to. She has a wonderful design sense and saved me countless hours by pulling together ideas for me to choose between. On more than one occasion, she visited our home to measure and make sure the choices we were making would work in the actual environment. Not only did she help me with furniture and fabric choices, but in selecting carpeting and wall color as well. She was sensitive to budget issues, offering choices at different price points. I am so happy with the final result and have received compliments from our neighbors. I would work with her again without hesitation.

Through most of my purchases (i.e. a recliner, sofa, dining room chairs) at this Ethan Allen location, I have worked closely with Interior Designer Sidney Sharkey. She has been tremendous to work with. Not only has she kept me informed about upcoming Ethan Allen sales, she has also been willing to visit my condominium to offer interior design suggestions.

Sidney is a wonderful and talented designer. Her aesthetic is cohesive, creative, and sophisticated, and I find myself looking to her (on Houzz and her Instagram) for inspiration! She is obviously passionate about her work and her clients.

Everyone has a vision when they start looking for new furniture. Some more than others. I didn’t have a total vision when I contacted Sidney by email about replacing furniture in my TV area in the kitchen. I wanted to make the area appear larger. I also wanted a chair with a light where my husband could read. Lastly, I wanted to replace one bookcase for another. She got back with me very quickly and set up an appointment to come to my apartment to talk about the design. We discussed the things I wanted and the things I was less clear about. For example media cabinet and furniture style. Did I want to replace the table and lamp I already had. Did I have a budget? I didn’t really know how much I wanted to spend. I told her to go back and put everything in her plan and then we would take away. She went back to the Ethan Allen store and worked up a plan using the measurements she took on her visit. We set up a time for me to visit the store and see as many of the furniture pieces they had on display along with samples of material. She showed me the plan she had made and how all of it would fit into my little TV area. I loved all of it except for the material she had picked out for the pillows. No problem, we just picked out something I liked and she thought would look right. She worked up an itemization of all of the pieces. I discussed it with my husband. We bought it all. Sidney was a joy to work with. She worked to make my vision clear.

I can’t recommend Sidney enough she is amazing! She listens to you and translate your taste into a beautiful reality. We love and enjoy our family and living rooms thanks to her !!
