Outdoor Improvements

Nick’s company, Outdoor Improvement, installed a paver patio and staircase in my backyard around August 2015. His invoice indicates and he also communicated to me that he warrants his work for 5 years. I contacted him a couple times regarding several areas on the patio settling. He indicated he stands by their work and would fix the issues. He asked that I send him pics of the issues which I did Sunday, Sept 11th. He also indicated he would come out the week of Sept 12th, 2016 and fix the issues or at least look at the problems. He never came out. He also didn’t respond to the pics I sent him , the text I sent him or the voicemail I left him on his cellphone. I explained he would have to respond to me to determine a resolution. He still has not communicated anything to me and I assume he will not follow through with the repairs or warranty work he advertised when I went into contract with him last year. Now I have to sue him to get him to follow through with his falsely advertised warranty. I spent $9500 on this project with them and it should not be defective 1 year after it was installed.

I have worked with him (for more than 7 years) on projects ranging from complete landscape redo's involving paver walks and natural stone walls, to jobs like general grading (where he'll squeeze my work into his tight schedule). Only a highly motivated owner-operator will do that on a sunny Saturday. My clients love his work and his charming Aussie accent. I like him because he's an exceptional problem-solver. Simon has helped us with two major projects involving excavating, landscaping and patio/walkway construction. He and his crew are always very professional, reliable and fun to have around. The projects have been very competitive with other bids we received, but more importantly the quality and service consistently exceeded our expectations. Thanks to Simon, we have transformed a very typical South Minneapolis front and back yard into a Japanese garden and patio that the entire neighborhood enjoys. Although I think all of our landscaping and hardscaping work is done, I would not hesitate to hire Patios Plus again if I did need more help, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for creative consultation, personal service and exceptional results.
