Shawn crafted a beautiful iron railing for an internal stairway in our home. From start to finish, our experience was wonderful! Shawn was accessible, responsive and professional. She took the time to make sure the design was just right. And the finished piece, simple yet elegant with straight lines interrupted by organic flourishes, looks amazing!

I commissioned Shawn to make a handrail for the front steps of our 1918 Craftsman bungalow. Shawn listened closely to what I had in mind and then incorporated her artistic vision and meticulous master craftswoman skills to produce a gorgeous result, more beautiful than I had even envisioned. Shawn's design really sets off the front of the house and we have received many compliments on the railing. The railing fits seamlessly into the overall style of the house while providing a sturdy handrail support for the stairs. I requested that the handrail to be completed by Thanksgiving. Shawn had the railing complete and installed in time for for our holiday visitors and guests. Shawn always kept in communication about the project & completed it for the agreed amount - a very fair price for the quality of workmanship and as a beautiful artistic addition to the house. Shawn is a very lovely person - a delight to work with. It was such a pleasure to experience Shawn's enthusiastic love of her work and the quiet pride she exhibited in her creation. Our garden has many art pieces displayed within a lush landscape. We're very thoughtful when adding new elements. When we found Shawn Lovell and her beautiful metalwork, we hit the jackpot! We needed an artistic handrail for the entry to our garden, and had been looking for several years for the right person to design and execute it. Shawn approached the project with confidence and a strong sensitivity to our needs. The final piece is a show stopper, and we're thrilled with it. Passersby actually stop to look at it constantly. Shawn added the perfect element to our garden, and we couldn't be happier.

Shawn recently completed the third of three very successful custom-designed projects for us. The first two were decorative solutions to camou-flaging an overly-large opening in an outdoor fireplace; the third was making a decorative railing for our front entrance. Review for: Shawn Lovell Metalworks Shawn and I had the uncommon experience of working from opposite ends of the country via phone conferences, e-mails, sketches and revisions sent back and forth. This never proved a barrier to her process of understanding my needs and desires for my project, as well as the limitations and constraints imposed by building codes and specifics of the installation. Shawn embraced whatever challenges there were by creating, if this can be said, a fluid design with restraint. Since she and I had never met and, in her wish to create an artistic piece that matched my style and personality, we started the design process with a several photos of my new house as well as the natural setting which surrounds it. My keen preference was to connect the world outside with my indoor environment. I also desired a railing that was simple and organic, something to complement my timber frame construction, not stand apart from it. My house is small and has an open concept so it was important that the railing blend. Shawn's ability to thoughtfully listen and flesh out the preferences and ideas of her clients is matched by her ability to skillfully execute the design once there is a meeting of minds. Though it was no easy matter, in all the ways I'd hoped, she admirably met my self described needs. Under normal circumstances, Shawn would have been on site herself to take measurements ensuring that all would come together perfectly. The contours of my house are somewhat more irregular and complex than a typical stick built house. In addition, since the railing met an existing half wall on the second story loft, the fit needed to be precise and crisp. Shawn demonstrated over and over her ability to successfully work from a distance not only with me, but others involved in the project. My builder conveyed the measurements she needed so that when all came together, it would go without a hitch. So far, two railings are installed and they have as close to a perfect fit as possible. The third railing is poised for installation shortly and will be the piece de resistance. Shawn finished her part of the project right on time and with integrity. She's a true professional. Her work is both subtle and outstanding. It speaks for itself if you look at her site. In closing I can say, Shawn was from start to end a pleasure to work with.
