BUYER BEWARE! Do NOT hire Vega Pools or Shawn Dunavin! We used Shawn Dunavin and Vega Pools (Spring 2020) and the level of incompetency is stunning. You will be disappointed! The following are just some of the many problems we had both during installation and then uncovered after the pool was “complete” per Shawn: (1) we had selected and confirmed via email the Midnight Blue Mini for our stonescape color, and Vega Pools installed the wrong gray color (Shawn admits it was his error, promised to correct but now will not install our agreed color); (2) they did not install the overflow; (3) the Hot Tub heater does not work and jet force is very weak; (4) they caused extensive bark damage during construction to our three large red oaks that have ALL died as a result; (5) poor very uneven install of the tile; and (6) the pool’s Auto Fill never installed. While admitting all of these issues in previous meetings, now Shawn’s only answer is a text months ago saying he had completed our pool. Simply unacceptable! AND SINCE THE BEGINNING WE HAVE HAD A POOL LEAK and we are adding water almost daily for 45-60 minutes. Shawn and Vega Pools will NOT honor his own warranty despite many many calls and emails for the past 6 months and counting. We are using another pool company to correct all of their problems and will have to explore serious next steps. Vega Pools and Shawn Dunavin are the pool contractors YOU NEED TO STAY FAR AWAY FROM if you want a job done correctly.

Please, read this review before you consider working with this company. And, please, find someone else. This company is a disaster to work with. Working with them is an extremely poor decision. I signed a contract in June. 6 months later, the project is not done (outdoor deck/patio area) - with no plan in site for completion. We have failed a number of inspections and there is no end in site. It's literally been complete hell - gross incompetence and poor execution. Stacks of wood with nails coming out of the wood piled up for months... they took my yard and turned into an unsafe disaster. I wish I had never heard of this company. I wish I could take stars from other reviews. I hate that I am required to give 1 star. How would you like to live in conditions like this for 6 months? Note the patio... For 6 months, there has been a patio with no railing. I have children. And, every day we have to be wary about children opening a door and wandering out onto this patio with no railing. And, there is zero sense of urgency. Please, go look for a competent company. And, if you pursue working with them, make sure you ask them about this project. They need to explain to you why your situation will be different. This project seems simple. It's a covered patio. But, they are in WAY over their heads and it's nowhere near completion.

Shawn with Vega Pools has been absolutely INCREDIBLE to work with!! They were able to get our pool finished in just over 30 days & that was with all of the crazy rainfall TX got this fall! He doesn't try to over sell you & actually listens to what you want & makes suggestions based on that. We are very pleased with our pool, and our dog loves the sun shelf!! Would & have recommended him to several people already!

We decided to use Vega Pools to build our swimming pool and they did a wonderful job. Shawn was easy to work with and the project was completed in a timely manner. I would highly recommend the services of Vega Pools. Vega Pools will actually listen to the customer and give you what you want. Several other companies I contacted will try to sell products and services you don't necessarily need.

Vega Pool and Outdoor Living After our first project was successful and friendly, we decided to invite them back to rework our pool and back yard space. The creativity and quality that Shawn and his crews pulled off was astounding. Our new space far exceeded our expectations and came in at budget.

Shawn has designed 2 pools for me and both times he did an amazing job. He is a forward and outside of the box thinker. Both designs were perfect for me! If I were to build another pool, Shawn is the only designer I would hire.

We had Shawn design and coordinate /oversee the construction of our pool. Super friendly and knowledgeable. I said I want a diving board he said ok that's 8 1/2 ft deep and walked off like 15 ft and said now what? I asked WHATS THAT? He replied the bare minimum for a diving board cuz we don't want to break anyone's neck. It's called a SWIM PLANE (who knew...well HE DID!) I said I want a pillow cloudy shape but set in the yard cockeyed so the dogs can run around it...THATS PRECISELY WHAT I GOT! I'd add an amazing picture for y'all to see if I could!! Can't Brag enough on him/them!
