It is not easy envisioning a piece of furniture from a slab of unfinished wood but the staff at Local Wood VA helped greatly with samples, and photos of other projects. I was not rushed and felt that the staff understood what I wanted (a tall, narrow bar) and made good recommendations. The builder's knowledge of furniture making and experience with the materials ensured that I cam home with a sturdy, useful and beautiful heirloom. The project was completed on time and I was delighted with the whole experience.

I needed a curved split level floor transition strip. I gave Local Wood the old strip and the new height and width dimensions. A few days later I had a new one, applied finish and nailed in place, all for a reasonable cost.

What a huge selection of hardwood slabs. Very helpful salesmen. Great place to shop. They have a large selection of mantles. they also have reclaimed lumber as well.
