After living with an aging “ho hum” back yard in the same house for 14+ years we chose ELS to help us expand our outdoor paved living areas in the back garden to match an existing pool, improve the drainage issues and freshen up the plantings. Because they were so professional and the workmanship was top-notch, AND came in under budget – we also chose to add more scope to the work and landscaped the entire front yard (it was just grass before) installed a beautiful new paver driveway with brick trim and planted new trees. A year later, it looks amazing and I wish we had done this years ago! We could not be happier with the workmanship, price and the outcome. Scott, who coordinated our job, was exceeding professional, unfailingly polite and quite honestly I was sad when the job ended because he is such a nice guy to work with. The crew was also unfailingly polite, neat and tidy, good with dogs and kids and they never, not once over the months long projects left their trash, nor any tools or dirt piles blocking our walkways. They cleaned up every time they left for the evening. The crew included expert artisans in custom cutting pavers to fit our oval/round area, putting us in touch with and coordinating licensed electricians to install lighting fixtures (to save money we picked ours out at Lowes) and up-lighting of the existing oak trees, heavy workman (everything was hand-dug in the back yard) and planting experts. Scott, with his expertise and knowledge of indigenous and often-chosen plants as well as unusual native plants, helped us select the individual plantings – we had over 100 in the end. Now, we are blessed with near year-round color with something blooming or changing color every month. Great looks and fragrances from heirloom variatals too. ELS saves you money with their knowledge. Instead of paying a landscape architect to do a written design for you, ELS (Scott, in this case) physically shows you where everything will go, freehand draws it to your liking, uses spray paint to mark where the plants will go, shows you the list of plants (we picked ours on field trips to local nursuries), cost of materials and gives you a fair price including installation/planting. We were very impressed with the entire process from start to finish – although it took longer since we kept adding to the scope and the crew had already started on another project. We were more than willing to wait for the crew familiar with our needs to return when they were available between other committed projects over the summer. That was our choice, but keep that in mind when you too, are super happy and want them to do more and more and more! Scope of work in the back included removal of overgrown plants, digging in 2 feet by 10 feet for retaining wall work (to exactly match the rest of the existing wall), leveling by hand for a new steps (in brick to match the pool), installation of an oval shaped paving stone patio area, removal of an old wooden deck, installation of rock wall around pool equipment with new lighting through the rock walls, adding a retaining wall to create pavered area for trash can storage (my favorite thing! They are totally out of the way now.), meandering pavered walkways, install new lawn area with sprinklers, replace sprinkler/drip system in the entire back yard and installing 60+ shrubs, plants and trees. Scope of work in the front included Removal of old concrete driveway and lawn, creating new driveway in paving stones with brick edging in a flare shape to match house, installation of large drains, permitting with the City to jackhammer the sidewalk to install new drains out to the street connecting to small and large drains over entire property, creation of a rock feature in front of new trees with uplighting, new plantings (ground cover, dwarf and tall plants, shrubs, flowering shrubs and trees) in differing heights for a pretty year-round front garden. FYI – A few or our plantings died over the course of the first year. Scott called for a ”routine” follow-up and when we told him, they were all replaced, free of charge within 2 weeks. With big smiles and sincere handshakes. THAT is a true guarantee of their work. In closing – ELS is a top-notch, first rate company to work with. We can Highly recommend them. They are clean, honest, hard working and competitively priced.

Hiring Scott and ELS to handle the outdoor remodel of my home was one of the best decisions I could have made. With the size and scope of what we needed, I knew that I couldn't go with an inexperienced company. They handled preparing new drainage, installing a variety of plantings, and working around our pool contractor with a degree of professionalism that I found to be unmatched. Scott and the rest of the crew at ELS are the best landscapers we have ever used. I would highly recommend them.

Scott Nannini has helped us twice to landscape our front and backyards. Scott was very friendly and professional going out of his way to develop through professional drawings ideas of yard design and making suggestions to to enhance our ideas. My yards were developed for low water/clean-up. I have recommended Scott anytime someone wants to landscape their yards. The crews come out with Scotts direction and work very hard to please the homeowner.

We hired ELS for a revision of our existing front yard landscape with the goal of improving its appearance and lowering water usage during the drought. We were impressed with Scott Nannini's professionalism , particularly his pro-active meeting with our neighborhood HOA. His landscape design was creative and executed in a timely fashion. Service for some minor problems after construction was prompt.

Scott worked closely with us throughout the process from start to finish. He listened carefully to our desires, provided us with a detailed drawing, and kept to the plan and budget. He met us at a local nursery so we could see the plants he recommended based on what we wanted. He didn't hesitate to redo an area of the concrete that developed cracks, and returned more than once to repair minor flaws and replace plants that did not survive-always keeping a pleasant attitude and returning our calls promptly.
