Robin put together 5 rooms our kids are absolutely loving. She designed bedrooms, a media room and bathrooms that fit our style completely. Everyone who walks into the media room goes wild for it. During the process she was very accommodating, even meeting us at the ball field one afternoon to finalize the project. We will definitely be using her moving forward. In fact, she is already finishing a second project for us.

On a positive note, Robin was always punctual and timely responding to email and texts. She also managed my design choices even when they didn't always mesh with her personal style. Unfortunately , Robin made two significant accounting errors. The more egregious involved a $ 2000.00 undercharge on my project, after I thought I was fully paid. The second involved charging me over $200 for sales tax on services , ( painting, tile work, etc. ). I don't believe either were done with malice, but they were handled very poorly. I found large chips in the wood in a desk one hour after it was delivered, Robin says it is my problem. I had several other incidents during the project that if viewed on their own might be viewed as minor or insignificant. However, when they are strung all together, they can not be ignored. On an aesthetic note, I believe Robin's biggest weakness is scale. It is also mine ,as I conveyed to her on our initial meeting. I completely deferred to her in that respect. I am unhappy with the size of the chairs in my living room. They block my cabinet doors and just look too big, in my opinion. The chairs in my other room seem out of proportion as well. I would not use Robin again for any project.

I feel I need to respond to protect my reputation that for the last 15 years has been stellar. I take my interior design profession very seriously and have always gone above and beyond for my clients. When designing a room or a home, I design rooms that I am very proud to say that I did this for my client. I have 15 years of very happy clients and I take pride in saying that too.

I am sorry that you felt you received less than my best work on your design project.
Your rooms turned out beautifully and I am so happy with the results. As a matter of fact, I would love your furniture in my own home!

The issues you stated above about the project, I would like to address:

The accounting on the invoice was my fault when I only charged you the price of a single chair, not for 2, and quickly brought it to your attention. The design board that we shared (and still do) prior to writing up your invoice had the actual price for both chairs and I should have rechecked the invoice to make sure it was correct before presenting it to you. I would have avoided sending you another invoice for the additional cost.
You were refunded the sales tax.
You are correct, I did not do this out of malice.

As for the chips on the desk:
I have layers of checkpoints when furniture is delivered from the manufacturer to my warehouse, then finally to my client.
First it is inspected at the warehouse for any damage, then reported to me with photographs and then I notify the manufacturer.
It is then either replaced or repaired.
Your furniture came from the manufacturers in excellent condition. No report
A second inspection occurs when loading the furniture onto the truck prior to a client's delivery.
The last inspection happens when the furniture is installed in the client's home. This is done by my delivery team, myself, and if the homeowner is present, they also inspect. I attend every inspection to protect against such claims.

As I told you privately when you found the chip on the edge of the desk after I attended the installation, inspected all the furniture, and even photographed the rooms, it was not there when I left. I was very surprised when you told me about it and I can back the next day to see it. I had told you then, it wasn't there when I left.
I have no doubt that you don't know how the chips occurred and I offered to help you pay for 50% of the repair work, since this damage occurred after I left. Since the damage was not the fault of the manufacturer or the delivery warehouse, I am the only one left to help you repair the desk.

I am sorry you are not pleased with the chairs. This is the first time I am hearing it.
They are in scale with the sofas in both rooms and are on the small scale for lounge chairs.
Design Tip: The living room chairs can be moved closer to the cocktail table, and will not interfere the bookcases. They are too far away now.
The family room chairs are swivel and they are the smallest they can be for a swivel chair.

Again your rooms are beautiful and I very proud of the final results.

She's professional, creative, full of ideas/solutions, stayed within our budget and met tight deadlines. If you're looking for a great designer, we couldn't recommend Robin highly enough.

On The Surface

Robin was chosen as lead designer for the kitchen at The Atlanta Symphony Showcase House 2015.. My company, On The Surface, was asked by Robin to create a dramatic copper faux hood as the centerpiece for her design along with a blue, vintage faux wood surround & two floor cloths. Robin was professional at all times, from the interviewing process, portfolio review & handling all management aspects of a sometimes complicated and crowded venue. She kept her cool under pressure and always thought quickly on her feet when problems or change orders arose. She knew when to execute instructions & when to step back & let the creativity flow. I watched her put together an amazing design with a very limited budget meeting all of her objectives. Despite the grandeur of the house, Robin created a warm and inviting space, with many artistic splashes throughout, always offering credit to those of us that contributed. I've worked with many designers over the years, and Robin is one that impressed me greatly with her acute design sense and style. Moreover, she is an easy person to be around, and listens carefully to her clients wants and needs to create the space of their dreams .
