If you are lucky enough to have found RIEK Builds, you are half way to completing your construction journey. After much searching, Tom and RIEK Builds were the perfect fit for our renovation; simply put, we could have have built our home without Tom and his team across the board. Our project was a total demolition and rebuild at the top of Kingsbury Grade for use as a secondary home and future retirement location. Tom was involved from the design process on; he provided recommendations on the design, honest and accurate assessments of costs, as well as a keen understanding of and patience with explaining the complicated Tahoe basin permitting process. During construction, Tom was always available to talk and go over specifics for the house. He was able to deal with unforeseen construction issues with little input from my wife and I. What we loved the most working with Tom, was that we were able to describe our vision, not knowing specifics, and he was able to run with it. We could easily have been over-stressed selecting floors, tile, counter tops, etc... but we didn't need to be - Tom took care of all of that and made our dream a reality. Since the construction, Tom has been in contact to ensure that we have been satisfied with the home. A few minor issues were taken care of in reasonable time. And over a year in, we remain extremely happy with our fortune to have found Tom and his team at RIEK Builds. I have no doubt, that any project - large or small- will easily and effectively be accomplished by RIEK Builds. Our only regret is that we can't take RIEK Builds with us across the country to manage our next home renovation.

I can't say enough great things about Tom Riek, General Contractor, John Hampton, Foreman and their team! Tom/John are responsive and communicative and did everything they said they would do. Tom set expectations, each time we made a change, which he was receptive to and executed seamlessly. The part I'm living with and enjoying the most is the quality of their work. We love the finished product. His team never cut corners and provided a beautiful, very high quality product. Tom even went shopping with me to assist with selection of finishes. His Team did a lot of work while we were at home. We nearly lived with his team for approximately 4 months and they were a joy. They let us know far in advance if they needed to do something loud or if they needed to come into our 'living' space. They were kind and very polite and ALWAYS arrived by 7AM! Our neighbors even commented on how clean they kept the job (and this was a huge job). Tom and his Riek Builds Team are the consummate professionals. Don't think twice about hiring them!

Tom was wonderful to work with and responded quickly to my concerns. Any issues he corrected immediately. I highly recommend him. My new kitchen is great and he made great suggestions.

We found RIEK on the Houzz site while looking for a local builder that has a modern design touch, so I arranged a first consultation with the idea to plan a complete overhaul of our newly purchased home. Besides attacking the worn and outdated bathrooms, we envisioned a complete change of the kitchen/living room area and contemplated even a sauna installation. However, Tom guided us gently towards a more realistic thinking, and we ended up with a redo of the two bathrooms, a new kitchen sink area (he found the hardware at an awesome price at Costco!), full inside re-paint, new LED lighting throughout, and smaller touch ups. In addition, he organized the installation of a master water treatment system that turned out to be a huge relief, given that the property is in Nevada (desert'ish) but we are used to high quality New York water (just relocated from there). Financially, Tom was always transparent in pricing and provided itemized receipts with clear markups and overhead fees. And the Quickbooks based payment process is a breeze. Overall, the process was as easy as possible, given the Covid / supply / worker-shortage and myriad other issues when executing a bigger project these days. We gave him the house keys and temporarily moved elsewhere, with all the furniture and most of our possessions staying at the property. He and the team worked diligently enough so that nothing existing took any beating, and at the end the RIEK cleaning crew did a fantastic job, a small but important touch to come back to the 'new' home happy. Overall, we can only recommend RIEK Builds. Actually, we contemplate to engage them (Tom, Pamela, Justin, and crew) for yet another project in the area.

We purchased a complete remodel in Minden from Tom and Pamela and couldn't be happier with the results. Tom and Pamela's level of professionalism and the attention they pay to detail is absolutely obvious in the level of craftsmanship of the finished product, above and beyond our expectations. Tom is very professional, knowledgable and personable. Even though we had a small home remodel project to replace our stairs, balusters and railings, he did everything possible to get the job done the way we wanted it with experienced, competent and creative craftsman and showed us some beautiful options and recommendations for the wood to use. We so appreciate his attention to detail and we absolutely love our fabulous, top notch new stairs!! Thank you Tom and Pam for such a wonderful job :) T & T

We had 2 windows installed. The job ended up being more complicated than expected (duct work rerouting, new drywall, electrical work. Tom, the owner, explained everything thoroughly and patiently. His crew was professional and nice. Great job. Would highly recommend.

Riek Builds does excellent and highly professional work. They recently completed a remodel of my kitchen and living room from floor to ceiling. Tom Riek was very mindful of my budget while providing artistic guidance as well as skilled execution of the design plan. We needed to have our outdoor deck, circa 1986, replaced and chose RIEK Builds! From the start of the project to the end we were very impressed with the pace of the job and the quality of the work. This was not an easy job as the team had to struggle with our weather. We are very happy with our new deck!
