Over the years we have hired a multitude of contractors to do various tasks around our house. All left a little wanting with the two biggest issues always being commitment and communication. Some would make arrangements to review the work and give an estimate and then never show up. Some would start and then disappear for extended periods. Some never responded to our initial phone calls or voice mails. Some would do work that was highly questionable. We began to think our expectations were too high. This year my wife and I decided to do a complete exterior update. This included windows, siding and a front porch overhaul. My wife is very meticulous in her search for just the right contractor and we always had the old nagging thought that we were just going down the same path. We then came upon the website of Richard Niemietz. The website in itself was very impressive, the work displayed on the web site seemed of high quality, and it definitely made us interested in talking with Rick. We called Rick and set up an appointment. Rick came over when he said he would (early too) and listened to what we wanted to achieve. He said he would draw up some plans with our budget in mind and return in 2 weeks. Rick kept his deadline and brought over some designs for the house. It was refreshing to have someone that listened to what we wanted to do, offered some constructive feedback and ideas of his own and then consolidated them into a final statement of work. Work began when Rick said it would. He guided us through the decision timelines so that we knew when a specific decision would need to be made with the options we had reviewed with Rick. Rick kept the budget in mind as went through the previously outlined work plan. Rick assisted us in the selection of the types of windows and siding and met us at the specific businesses where we ordered them. Rick also let us know when trade shows were being held so that we could see a variety of different styles and combinations of woods and decking material. Rick bought with him the highest quality of contracted help. From the individuals who did the siding, the painting and the drywall each and every one was a very pleasant surprise. They all showed up when they said they would and did the highest quality work in the period of time they said they would. We now receive very high praise for the finished product and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. There is no doubt in the future that we will have Rick do all of our work going forward as working with him is not just an investment but he makes it into a true partnership. Thanks Rick. Excellent builder with quality construction, great ideas and attention to detail. Our new custom home was a particularly challenging project. It involved knocking down an old existing home from the early 1900's and building back in its place due to our location on the water. We have people stopping by all the time to get information on who did the work and what materials were used. Couldn't be happier with the quality of the construction! I would highly recommend this builder for your custom built home or remodeling!

The uniqueness, and the quality has been commented on by many. We wanted to add a permanent room... Rick would be our choice because of the quality of our home. His design included windows that matched existing ones, a French door...matched existing one, matching trim, etc. He also made sure roof line matched existing one. Rick did an awesome job remodeling our master bathroom. His personality made him very enjoyable to work with. He listened to what we wanted, worked within our budget, and was very responsive to our calls. Rick paid attention to the details of our remodel and created a seamless transition from our existing master bedroom into our new master bathroom. Rick turned our dream bathroom into reality!

Rick also takes care of the "little touches" that one might not even pay attention to - he worked for quite a while with the electrical contractor to make sure that the lighting in our difficult to light living room was perfect. The staircase he built for us is solid and beautifully crafted; it compliments the design of the home perfectly. The high ceilings and open spaces in the design he helped us with make the house feel big and airy. We could not be more pleased with our new home. The subcontractors Rick works with share his vision and commitment to quality work. Every single one of them was friendly, professional, and extremely talented. It was a pleasure meeting and working with all of them. In summary, if you are looking for an honest, hardworking, talented, and friendly company for your project, we cannot recommend Rick and his team highly enough. You will not be disappointed!
