Valerie is so talented. Her sense of style, integration of cultural/ethnic pieces and use of color worked perfectly with my own style. She has worked on my master bedroom, home office, foyer, formal dining, living room and powder rooms so far. I keep coming back to her because her ability to put looks together that are modern and still full of color is unmatched in this area. Highly recommend!

For a full year of living in our house, we knew that it felt a little off… We played around with moving furniture, purchasing items that we thought would solve the issues but nothing ever seemed to feel right, let alone complete. We finally and thankfully decided to seek out professional help… All we knew is that we wanted to bring color and happiness into our home as we feel like we are colorful and happy people or at least which strive to be. Val has done several rooms with us. Each remarkably different. We've worked with her in rooms where we had no idea what we wanted and let her create and rooms where we had definite idea what we wanted out of the room. Our new house was just restyled by Valerie and we cannot rave enough about her skill for capturing our aesthetic desires and upgrading them beyond our imagination. We sought to bring intown sophistication and cultural liveliness to a dull, cookie cutter home in, yes, a subdivision in the ‘burbs. Because the renovations were to be completed in our absence (we relocated afterwards, from out-of-state), we needed a budget-conscious designer with impressive local resources and reliably strong project management abilities. We found Restyled by Valerie on Houzz, and aside from her chic style, we especially appreciated her experience with decorating with children in mind. It was important to us that our toddler enjoyed the space as much as any adult would. Well, Valerie took on our ever-growing list of needs and fulfilled each one expertly. We couldn’t be happier with our home. Valerie paid special attention to all the details, which collectively, presents beautifully. From the house’s massive hardwood flooring project, master bathroom upgrade /restructuring, and refresh of the stale kitchen, to decorating our daughter’s nursery and creating a family room and front room we can both relax and entertain in, Valerie delivered in high style. I like to say that Valerie is a much, much cooler version of me—we share similar design tastes, but Valerie expresses them with way more panache. I highly recommend Valerie’s services—she is a knowledgeable, passionate designer who will earn your trust.

We were moving from a more traditional home in Pittsburgh to a mid century modern home in Columbus. My husband and I had never used an interior designer before, but were feeling a bit daunted by the challenge of purchasing furniture for this home so we set up an appointment to meet with Valerie after finding her on Houzz. We immediately loved her vibrant personality and direct manner and decided to partner with her on the work we wanted to have done. Valerie is extremely candid with her opinions, but at the same time is responsive to an owner's design aesthetic. She is also very frugal with her client's money which we very much appreciated. Because we ended up swapping out some old flooring in one room, redoing the wooden flooring that covered most of her large first floor, and doing some painting, electrical, and carpentry work in addition to purchasing furniture, Valerie basically served as our general contractor. She identified people to perform all of these jobs and oversaw the work under her design. She would scout out furniture for us, and even would travel to stores and make purchases on our behalf. She worked wonderfully with my children as well as their rooms were redone as part of the process. Rather than wade through lots of fabric or tile samples, she would bring us a few samples that she had pre-selected for us to look at. It was a huge savings of time. Valerie also kept the process moving and made sure that we finished the design (i.e., bought art and put it up on the walls, etc.) which we have always been very bad at doing in the past. She even helped find a carpenter to build us the right media console when we couldn't find one in the dimensions we needed. Because Valerie negotiated excellent rates with all of the contractors who did work on our home, and could get a designer discount at some retailers, her fees didn't end up adding hugely to the total cost and were well worth it because we are thrilled with our new look. We would definitely use her again and recommend her highly!

I had an old dresser that i wanted to refinish since it had sentimental meaning; however, i wasn't quite sure where to start. After meeting Valerie through a friend and looking at her work online, i knew she was the perfect person to ask. Valerie met with me to discuss the function of the piece and how i wanted it to look (color and style). My dresser was refinished in a very timely manner and Valerie made sure everything was perfect. I am extremely pleased with the finished piece and how Valerie incorporated my thoughts into her design.

We are a Child care center that has been in business for the past 40years. When we decided to open an additional location, we hired ReStyled by Valerie to handle the Interior design work. That decision was one of the best decisions we made in the whole build process. The principal designer, Valerie, listened to our suggestions and incorporated them within a beautiful concept she had, the whole building came out flawless! The building was transformed into a space that everyone who walks into the building, enjoys being in. It is so beautiful!!! A lot of times, after all the children have gone home, a lot of us who work there, find ourselves just hanging around and chilling out there! We believe it is because the design makes the center so gorgeous yet comfortable! We have been so happy with the work reStyled by Valerie did with the new center, we commissioned them to redesign the other locations. Hiring reStyled by Valerie was such a great business decision, and they are such an easy and honest company to work with, we will always return to them for any of our interior design needs.
