My wife and I purchased a new home that was in need of extensive renovations (kitchen, bathrooms, floors). We were introduced to Jim and his team through a design firm who have worked with him for many years. Jim knocked it out of the park. He hit deadlines and paid close attention to every detail of our project. He was on site every day and truly cared about the end result. During the floor staining process jim even stopped by over the weekend to make sure the fumes wouldn’t be too strong for our toddler. Jim will be the first person we call for future projects.

My husband and I interviewed, and were disappointed by, three large remodeling companies before we found Jim Heaney. We had purchased a dated condo that needed a full rehab. Shag carpet, worn flooring, dated built-ins, mirrored bathrooms and the washer/dryer that had been stowed in a shower stall all had to be torn out and redone. From the moment we met him, Jim listened to our plans. He was practical and straightforward. He had a good sense of design and was transparent in his billing. His team was fast, efficient and always cleaned up at the end of the day. The job was enormous but Jim was onsite and attentive throughout. He negotiated with suppliers, shepherded deliveries and worked closely with the people in the building to get difficult things done. He always looked for solutions and never tried to sell us expensive or unnecessary items. Jim never promised more than he could deliver and he delivered what he promised. We were so lucky to find him.

I live out of state and trusted Jim (who I never met prior) with my bathroom gut renovation while my tenants lived there. He is the ultimate professional--finished the work on time, within budget while keeping my tenants and the condo board satisfied. I recommend him without hesitation.

I give my highest recommendations to Jim and his team! I hired Jim to remodel 2 bathrooms in my condo, both a small guest bathroom and the master en suite. While I had a general idea of the style I wanted, Jim was great during the consultation / design process and came with a number of tile samples to complete the design. I purchased a condo on North Columbus Drive and hired Jim Heaney and Remodeling Experts of Chicago to help me design and renovate my new home. The scope of work consisted of removal of a partition wall between the kitchen and living room to create an open floor plan. The renovation included new wood floors, doors, baseboards, two bathrooms, and a kitchen. Also a complicated conversion from bathtub to full standing shower with a custom poured concrete base that went without any problems. Jim suggested designs and we made showroom visits to see cabinets, countertop materials and he brought me tiles that he suggested would complement the finishes, which I had selected. Jim designed the project and his team built it flawlessly. The project came in on budget and the work went without interruptions. I am a very senior citizen and live in the Armour Square neighborhood of Chicago. When I was planning on a master bathroom remodel I searched the Better Business Bureau website and found Jim Heaney the owner of Remodeling Experts of Chicago. I interviewed several other contractors and selected Jim because of his demeanor and construction knowledge. Jim and his team completed the work flawlessly and I now have a beautiful bathroom. During the bathroom project Jim mentioned that he was also an Illinois licensed broker with @ Properties. I have a sister who owned a townhouse in Hyde Park and who now lives in an assisted living environment. The townhome was very outdated and needed a complete make over before being placed on the market to sell. Jim Heaney did a before sale makeover evaluation. He presented a list of the items that needed updating and the repairs that were needed in order to sell the property. We went over the with construction budget for the things that needed to be done. His company, the Remodeling Experts of Chicago started the work on January 7, 2019. The renovation budget was precise, and the renovation was completed in seven weeks. As an @ Properties real estate broker Jim Heaney placed the townhome on the market on Friday, March1, 2019. The first couple that saw on Saturday, March 2, 2019 made on offer that afternoon. After some negotiations price was determined on March 5, 2019. The real estate transaction closed on April 18, 2019 and I was very happy with the final selling price. Jim Heaney’s ethics and expertise as a contractor, real estate broker, and negotiator were impeccable. Jim listened to my ideas, made suggestions and executed my decisions regarding the remodeling of my bathroom in a medium size condo building. It turned out great with minimal disruption to my home When I spotted a few things I wanted touched up/done after the work was completed, he had them taken care of quickly. After a terrible experience with a different contractor remodeling my other bathroom, Jim and his team were a welcomed relief. Jim took on more heavy lifting getting tiles and a shower door while I began a new job. My bathroom has been completed for a few months now and is holding up beautifully.

I live in a townhouse in the Lakeview, Chicago neighborhood and our family was looking to renovate our basement area. Jim had designed and constructed my neighbor’s basement so I contacted him. The challenge was to keep an exposed brick wall in the basement and incorporate an ultra thin gas ventless fireplace with a recessed space for a TV above the fireplace. My wife and I conveyed our overall design ideas and Jim created a floor plan which consisted of a recreation room, fireplace area, bathroom, bedroom/office, and utility room. Jim showed us examples of other bathrooms where he had incorporated white and black tiles, vanity and custom shower with glass doors. The custom tile in the bathroom was a great touch! Jim managed the construction process with his workers and we now have a beautiful new recreation room, exposed brick, television area and custom bathroom. I live in a newly purchase condominium at 474 N. Lake Shore Drive and I wanted to renovate my bathroom and install a kitchen tile backsplash. Jim was the contractor that did other work in the condo years before and was referred by the seller. We exchanged design and tile ideas on tile and Jim supplied the necessary insurance and licensing requirements to the building management company and scheduled the project. I first met Jim Heaney, fall, 2000, shortly after retirement. I had neglected updates on my near north side condo and finally had the time to take on a small project. Having never worked with a contractor before, I was very apprehensive given the often heard tales of remodel disasters. After interviewing several contractors, I immediately knew Jim was "the one". His warm, friendly, funny personality put me at ease, in addition to his promises that he would be available 24/7, and emotionally "hold my hand" throughout. I hired Jim to partially re-do 2 bathrooms, and, not only was I thrilled with the results, but he kept all promises! Fall, 2017---and by now, I'm a "senior citizen", I decided to do a complete "gut" of my 2 bedroom/2 bathroom residence. I was thrilled to locate Jim online and thus, my most major adventure began. In less than 3 mos., Jim transformed my "blah" home into what I now consider a palace. While I had selected several materials before contacting Jim, he spent 2 mos., pre-project, accompanying me to various stores and vendors where he had contacts, resulting in nice discounts for me. He not only eagerly assisted with selections and measurements, but also co-operated fully with voluminous amounts of paperwork required by my Condo Association. When my project began, Jim and his team were consistently on premise 5 days/week. His foreman and crew are amazing and hard-working. I took a deep breath and decided to live in my condo throughout. Jim was kind, thoughtful and accomodating regarding my comfort, and well being, throughout. Now, when I daily wander around my new home, all I can say is WOW!
