We recommend Reel Homes without reservation. Their workmanship is top tier with attention given to detail and quality. After researching larger builders with their cookie cutter approaches and other smaller custom builders, Reel Homes was chosen because of their flexibility, straightforward approach, and in-person review of some of their other completed projects. The team is incredibly responsive throughout the process and because you are dealing directly with the owners a majority of the time, there is quick resolution to questions or issues. Francine (the office manager) was a huge help to us throughout the whole process, and the design team led by Christina was a real pleasure to work with. They understood our vision and helped create it balancing that against budget. They also helped manage our anxieties about all of the choices we had to make! The builder delivered our home ahead of our original schedule despite the virus outbreak and concerns about impacts to supply chains and workers. The Reel Homes team did an amazing job building our custom home in Fairfax County, which was completed in May 2020. Our search for the right builder had included larger regionals with “on your lot”programs down to small design/build firms. We felt Reel was the "Goldilocks"--an established builder with tons of experience but small enough that we'd receive personalized attention and highly customizable, luxury features. The best thing about working with Reel was dealing directly with the builders/owners, Eric and Chris, who are highly responsive and genuinely care about their customers/product/reputation. This was our first custom/new construction home. Though we had great luck, it was clear to me that external factors (weather, permitting, COVID) have the potential to really impact a project. I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way than to have access (and continuity) to deal directly with the owners through the whole process—from contract through warranty. Thanks Reel!

We had an amazing experience with Reel Homes and without question would strongly recommend them to any close friend. The home building process for many people is a painful one that tends to drag on and often incurs expenses well beyond what anyone expects. However, with Reel Homes, our expenses were upfront and we were told in the beginning the few areas which had unknown expenses that could not be realized until after the ground breaking occurred. Chris, Eric and Francine were very professional and respectful of our time but also quite fun to work with, and they made the experience an enjoyable one. Frankly, at the end of the project, we were sad that the process was over. On top of it all, they finished the home well ahead of schedule! We have been living in our new home for one year and we love the house more and more the longer we stay in it. Every square inch of the house is beautiful on the inside and out. We have absolutely no regrets and highly recommend them.

We are very happy to have contracted with Reel Homes to build our new home. This was our first experience with new home construction and their "lump sum" pricing approach was right for us. We completed the initial contract while we were overseas, and there were no unwelcome surprises down the road. We appreciated that Reel Homes only took on a limited number of projects at any given time, allowing us to deal directly with Eric and Chris whenever we had a request or question. We asked for several modifications of the plan we chose and these were made without any complication. Eric and Chris also provided frank advice on other options we considered, steering us away from some we may have regretted. They completed construction on time and as promised. They addressed minor move-in issues quickly, and followed up to ensure sub-contractors had performed to our satisfaction. Two years after move-in we remain very happy with our choice of Reel Homes.

I signed my contract with Reel Homes in Nov 2019 for a semi-customized home. The house pass final inspection and looking forward to closing mid-April, 2020. So far so good, will provide final review upon delivery of the house.
