Bo Fentum Design

Where to even begin with how much we loved working with Bo! We weren't sure where to start with our loft renovation. We had done a project on our ground floor previously that had gone all wrong, so we were worried about having a repeat experience. I called Bo for helpful advice getting started as well as wanting to get her involved with our designs. From the moment we started talking about our loft project until the final art was hung on the wall, Bo was helpful and enthusiastic about our project. She worked seamlessly with our builders, even when we were out of town, throughout the project. Even when issues did arise, she was quick to evaluate the problems with our builders and help come up with a solution that made the entire team happy. In the early stages, Bo created several layouts and designs for us to choose from, all based on information we shared about how we live our lives, and want to live our lives, in our home. The end result of her early planning has been spaces that we love being in and that we don't think about as we go about our daily lives. The lighting "just works", the doors open the right way, the storage space is right where we need it. And of course, it's gorgeous to look at!

We asked for Bo's help with our kitchen/diner extension, lounge and loft conversion with en-suite bathroom, which was a big project. She had such brilliant ideas and an infectious enthusiasm. She is an excellent listener and quickly understood our brief, enabling us to plan ahead for features such as integrated speakers in the ceiling which we would never have thought of. Bo created some wonderful touches around our home including a wooden feature wall and beautiful kitchen and bathroom. Bo has fantastic vision for spaces, and knew exactly which new pieces of furniture to pick plus how to use our existing, much loved items. Working with Bo gave us so much confidence to make decisions that we are going to be living happily with for many years to come. Highly recommended A+++

We are so pleased with the work we have completed, following Bo's design advice. Bo worked with us to understand our family's lifestyle, encouraging us to consider how our needs may change over time, and suggested a new downstairs layout. She encouraged us to consider new colours and ideas for the final finish (e.g. a mirror wall we would never have thought of, which looks amazing). She made pragmatic suggestions to help us keep budget down, whilst maximising the overall design impact. She was also incredibly patient with all our questions and indecision! Despite not having extended, it feels as if we have a brand new house. Thank you, Bo!

Bo’s brief was to bring back the mid-century character of an early Norman Starrett-designed house without ending up looking like a museum, and her clever designs and elegant touches were pivotal in helping us achieve this. From the use of space, storage solutions and wooden wall in our attic master and ensuite to sourcing the most beautiful wallpaper for our daughter’s bedroom and colour suggestions throughout, the liveable and practical spaces our family enjoy every day owe much to Bo’s skill and vision. Highly recommended.

Bo was just wonderful! Great ideas about lay out, design, materials and all the time factoring in the all important cost and practicality. We had a loft extension plus a first floor reconfiguration and design which included 3 new bathrooms! She even worked with my young children to create mood boards so they also felt that their ideas were heard! Bo totally took us out of our comfort zone to be bold and bright rather than our usual scandi-neutrals. The end project came in on budget and was truly beyond our expectations.

I helped Bo with the design of an extension on her own house, getting it through planning. We hit it off straightaway as both have a passion for midCentury Design. Her passion was infectious, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. she is very professional and a good project manager and I would not hesitate recommending her for your project
