Ray Romano was highly professional, organized, efficient and a great person to work with. He renovated my neighbor's apartment and then came in and salvaged a botched renovation from a botched job with another contractor. He also renovated my mom's kitchen and did a beautiful job. He's good on his word and a fun, funny decent person. Great crew working for him. Wish I had started my renovation with him met all deadlines and budgets. .

We selected Ray Romano from a list of five highly recommended contractors. Four had given us long and instructive lessons on how difficult everything was going to be. Ray, after three minutes, dropped onto his knees, stuck his head in a hole, and showed us how to to increase space in the kitchen. Instant selection! We had bought four boxy rooms with magnificent light and fine views of the Metropolitan Museum and Central Park. It had a few distinguished details from two owners previous (floors and door surrounds), but by then was decorated with all the grace of a storage carton. We found that Ray has an artist's and an Italian's instinct for grace and quality (my wife is an art historian and I am a novelist, so this is unusually dear to us). He worked with our decorator from Vienna who has, we proudly maintain, an almost unearthly talent--but also has difficulty communicating in English, and had, at that time, not worked a day in New York or the United States. That his and Ray''s collaboration was so intensely fertile owes much to Ray's patience and understanding where many would have have flung up their arms. Ray's workmen are skilled, pleasant, honest, and dependable. His schedules are realistic. He is a perfectionist and quite certainly no bottom feeder (I don't think I would recommend him for a job where the intention or the habit was to skimp), but we never found him outrageous, and always felt we had been warned before going for a another embellishment. We think the apartment now is quite beautiful, a gem. Ray and his men have remained friends. We would use him without hesitation if we had another project in New York. We highly recommend him to anyone who wants an unusual, sophisticated, result of the highest workmanship.

Ray is more than the larger-than-life personality that is fun to work with. His work and attention to detail are unparalleled. He actually cares deeply about every home he works on from a small kitchen renovation (my last place) to a larger scale semi-gut renovation (my current place.) I strongly recommend working with him, just don't take him from me when I need him next!

Hi guys, We were so lucky to have found our contractor who just finished our apt. We did an apt combine and could not recommend him highly enough. Ray is a true visionary when it comes to space, he has a great eye and managed to find us more living space (in NYC every inch counts!) He has great recommendations on how to enhance the apt, from design to function of the apartment and not to mention they are reasonable in price especially compared to other bids that we got. Him and his team are courteous, professional and clean and even finished our apt on schedule despite many hurdles from the DOB or our building and management company. They got our paperwork for board approval and from the management company quickly and efficiently which has not been our experience from previous projects on this building with other contractors. Our neighbor's all went over to us to say how pleasant they were to deal with which speaks volumes as it was pretty much a gut renovation and could have been very frustrating to deal with. Highly recommended!
