Our business emerged from a desire to shift homeowners’ thinking about HVAC.
In an environment where so many heating and air contractors cut corners and perform “rule of thumb” work that leaves families with uncomfortable, inefficient, and unsafe homes, we saw plenty of room for improvement. The community needed an HVAC expert who was willing to provide ethical, high quality work based on the principles of building science. Now it’s got one.
At PV Heating & Air, we offer an alternative to the typical metro Atlanta HVAC scene – and that’s a good thing. Our owner, David Peavey, started performing HVAC work in high school and worked for many years in residential and commercial heating and air. His brother, Jason, upon finishing his degree in International Affairs and Spanish at the University of Georgia, partnered with David to launch what was originally called Peavey A/C & Heating in 2007. Their other brother, Joe, soon joined the team as well.
With working class roots and a business-minded outlook, David, Jason, and Joe entered HVAC as others had before them: A family business with a strong desire to provide stellar service. Today, PV Heating & Air strives to give homeowners the best solutions for HVAC and home performance, utilizing scientific data, highly trained technicians, and a personal touch.
You will see, hear, and experience those intentions in every interaction with PV.
PV Heating & Air is the premier air conditioning, heating, and indoor air quality provider in the metropolitan Atlanta area. We are Trane Comfort Specialists, Icynene spray foam dealers, and Mitsubishi Diamond Contractors (Ductless Mini Splits). The industry elite, Trane, Icynene, and Mitsubishi, choose PV to represent their brands because of our superior installation standards, superb customer service, and proven track record.

I learned to trust PV Heating and Air when they installed my new Trane whole-house system. This company hires good, decent people who truly want to do their best. PV also emphasizes training and continuing ecucation of their technicians, so that every time I speak with one I learn something new about comprehensive management of the home environment. These are Good People!

I've worked with PV for nearly two years. They are knowledgeable, considerate, prompt and I would recommend them highly! They have replaced (at my request) both of my HVAC units and have advised me on humidity, mold, air quality and numerous other things.

From the first time I've worked with the folks at Peavey, they have proven time and time again to be the professionals that you'll want for all of your heating & AC needs. Thorough, efficient, clean and very prompt. You'll want to put them on speed dial and no need to look elsewhere!

Everyone associated with this company is extremely personable and professional. This company just replaced my home HVAC system...from the beginning estimate, to the 3 workers, to the final check...all the technicians were top notch. Furthermore, I have maintenance contracts with this company and my rental homes...all my tenants have the highest regards for the technicians.

We had the Trane HVAC system installed in our town-home by PV Heating and Air four years ago. We have the HVAC maintenance agreement with PV too since then. We are very happy with the service. HVAC works great, heating and cooling. The workers are professional, knowledgeable, and respectful of the house. I am happy to recommend them.

PV Heating and Air was awesome - they were professional, experienced, thorough, and responsive. I especially like that their staff are full time trained professionals with benefits and a decent salary - no low pay contractors. We had a complete sprayfoam attic insulation job done and are very happy with the work and the company.

PV provided services at my House and my Father's house. My house involved an entirely new 3 ton heat pump unit and AC. My father had a new gas line installed to the generator as well as a new AC system. They were very responsive and timely. They worked the extra hours into the night to make sure my Dad (81) had A/C in a reasonable time frame. Very pleased with their work.

There are two things I have come to love as a home owner. The first is Houzz - I designed almost our entire home using this site (and gardenweb before the merge). The second is a reliable contractor who cares about doing the job well and taking care of their customers. We have found, in the past 4 years since we began this process, four contractors that I would use again, two that I would recommend to friends and family, and precisely ONE that we would never consider replacing under any circumstances. That one is PV Heating and Air. We are actually about to finish our basement and refused two great quotes because they wouldn't allow us to use PV. If I have an HVAC project any time between now and when I die, I wouldn't even consider hiring anyone else.
A bit of background: My wife and I decided to build a very energy efficient house with spray foam insulation and geothermal heating and cooling back in 2012. We made the mistake of trusting the wrong company. I'll leave it at that. For those familiar, I'm sure you'll understand that we had serious considerations with a project like ours related to humidity, clean air intake (important in a tightly sealed home), and make-up air for our 1100CFM range hood... Suffice it to say we had a very technically challenging project with a complex layout to boot. Well, the first summer, we not only had humidity greater than 65% the entire season, but we also had energy bills through the roof. it turns out our initial contractor had taken a "let's see if this works" approach. One full year, and THIRTY visits later, I was worried we had a lemon of a system, and would have to start over. I wish I were kidding when I say that we literally had the VP of Bosch North America in our attic with their most senior technician because we initially thought the equipment was malfunctioning. When we determined that that was not the issue, and looking for a quick fix, we hired another company on the recommendation of a neighbor, and they said all we needed was a dehumidfier. It fixed nothing. They then recommended a third HVAC unit, and we showed them the door. After 30 months of truly uncomfortable conditions and astronomical bills, we hired a man with a PhD in building science...really. He came in, identified some flaws in our system, and recommended PV to do the work. That recommendation was worth triple his fee.
We were skeptical at first since we'd been burned so many times, but when PV came in, they knew just what to do. First of all, we discovered that they could have done the assessment that the PhD did, but that's not the point. The point is that they took his assessment, confirmed it on their own, identified a few more potential issues, and got to work. Within hours, things were better, within a week they were almost perfect (we were getting into fall), and with a few small tweaks the following hot season, our HVAC system is now operating to absolute perfection.
What I almost forgot is that along the way, they identified ways to improve airflow, exhaust from the bathrooms and the kitchen, and they even painted our outside exhausts (that they did not install) so that everything would look perfect. By this point, my wife bakes her famous cookies for them whenever we have a tune up scheduled, and I'm pretty sure she wants to name our first child after this company.
I am sure this review sounds like an exaggeration, but if you read my posts on this site, you will see that not only am I a stickler for detail, but I am also extremely critical (to a fault) of contractors who aren't impossibly perfect... (I'm working on it). I've even posted about this HVAC nightmare on the site. However, even with my idiosyncrasies and particular nature, PV met and exceeded my expectations more than any company I have ever interacted with in my lifetime. That about says it all. If anyone has questions and Houzz has a mechanism for it, please feel free to contact me for any further details.
To sum up, we have a complex house with a complex system that wasn't performing. Now it is perfect, and I wish we had saved tens of thousands of dollars by going with PV the first time around.
