The Pure Haven Team was a pleasure to work with. As with any custom home, there are bound to be surprises, delays and issues (particularly during a supply shortage), but Shane and his team managed through all of it with professionalism. I have recommended Pure Haven to others and will continue to do so.

Worked with Pure Haven for 3 years, building two homes in Heber city, Utah. They were extremely efficient and knowledgeable in helping us build our home. We were very impressed how they worked, and would use and recommend them to anyone looking to build a new house.

I hired Purehave to build my dream home outside Park City. Shane and Andy were very attentive during the design and build process and I was fortunate to have a great project manager, Jake, to take our dreams and turn it into reality. They completed our project on time and on budget with minimal change orders. The design services provided by Pam (through PureHaven) allowed us to make decisions that stayed within our budget with spectacular results. I can't recommend Purehaven enough.

Worst Experience of my life! Our experience with Pure Haven Homes was terrible. They promised us a home built in 7-8 months for $X and it took 18 months and way over budget. Actually, it's still not done! We had to schedule our own final inspection and they didn't even show up with the inspector. My experience is that Shane Harr and Andy Mapp are persuasive and experienced salesmen. They promised us a beautiful home and that the process would go so well that they would to be invited to the BBQ at the end of the build. We left our first meeting with feeling great about them as a builder, but it was all a lie. I would never want them in my house again. We experienced them backing in costs later down the road when you don't really have many options. They signed a contract with us that is very vague and give allowances for most items rather than real bids from subcontractors. Then, you end up going over budget on each of those line items and they give you a change order. We had to come up with over $120,000 EXTRA to get the house built how we expected in the first place. There are so many good builders in Park City, why go with a crooked one? Don't trust the low price....they really can't build it for that without you sacrificing quality and/or timeline.

We do wish this would have been a pleasant experience for both parties. Allow us to explain:

When the owner supplied us with building plans they were incomplete and lacked the appropriate structural engineering. Once revised, it required additional framing material and labor. The revisions added to the cost and took more time. When an owner acknowledges these changes he should understand these costs – not refuse to pay them.

When the owner changes his mind and adds over 60 upgrades to the original agreement, he again should realize that would inflate the cost of the home, and he should be honest and agree to pay them per his request.

When the owner requires we order windows from Europe, he should realize that will add time for delivery and delay completion of the home. Waiting on the window delivery caused delays on other facets of the home that couldn’t proceed without the windows being installed.

When the owner refuses to pay multiple monthly invoices, it left us no other choice than to stop work on the home.

We value transparency when we build. We are open and up front with our costs and expect our clients to be the same with us. This process has made us a successful, well-respected building partner, of which we do get invited back to enjoy a BBQ in our client’s beautiful home.

We were first time home builders and we were so glad we went with Shane and purehaven homes! It made the building process so enjoyable. Shane is honest and committed. We knew exactly where our money was going (with well documented paperwork), we knew exactly what was happening during the building process (with on site meetings), and we knew Shane was going to do what he said (with things getting done or fixed according to our needs/wants, every time, on time). We recommend Shane ALL the time!

We just completed the construction of our second Purehaven home and we are two for two. Besides the home quality the top two characteristics of Shane Harr's Purehaven home is professionalism and integrity at all levels. The on sight supervision was constant and the billing department has no peer. The budget was fair and every effort was made by this contractor to "keep us in budget". If there is ever a third new home for us it will unquestionably be Purehaven of Orem Utah. Bob and JoAnn Majka
