Gloria was a delight to work with. We gutted a large part of our Edwardian semi in a heritage district during the pandemic, so our project offered its fair share of challenges, but Gloria cheerfully guided us through it all with a steady hand. She offers a keen eye and creative solutions to both major and minor challenges, and always with a diplomatic tone. She understood our desires, and when structural or pandemic issues got in the way, she found new paths forward. She also worked collaboratively with our designer and landscape architect to ensure the various parts worked together in a cohesive whole. Most importantly, she had a superb relationship with our building contractor, which made the project far easier to manage than we expected, especially given the supply and cost constraints in the pandemic. Overall, we would highly recommend Gloria to anyone looking for a strong vision and clear execution.

When you’ve spent almost 20 years dreaming of building a home and finally you’ve found the perfect neighbourhood and the perfect lot at the perfect price, the next hurdle is finding the perfect architect. While we thought that would be a difficult task, at the end of our first meeting with Gloria, my husband and I knew we’d found The perfect person to take us from dream to dream house. Gloria was the gentle realist we didn’t know we needed when our wish list got out of hand (which was often). She was the coach who had our back when our plan to build a modestly-sized bungalow still managed to become ensnared in a tangle of municipal red tape, and she was our muscle when the first builder we hired tried to take us to the cleaners. From start to finish, Gloria and her team listened to our needs and wishes, maximized the existing space, suggested design and finish elements and looked for ways to create a house that we cannot believe is ours. We were most impressed with the creative approach to their design. They were open to a mix of high end and lower cost elements to help us manage our budget. Communication was timely, transparent and feedback was welcomed. Post Architecture offered valuable design support that so we were not overwhelmed by the innumerable decisions that needed to be made; windows, lighting, counters, flooring, cabinets, tile and so much more. Before the renovation, we were in our century semi-detached home for 12 years; now the final product feels (and is) a new house that exceeds our expectations.

Gloria clearly understood our vision for the extensive renovation of our mid-century modern home and produced extraordinarily comfortable living spaces and a home that we are proud to call our own. She was quick to respond to and address our concerns providing sound recommendations and design solutions, she worked well with the contractor and subs, her attention to detail was simply excellent, and she deftly managed the interface between achieving the design vision and the practical resolution of construction realities and site conditions. I don't have enough great things to say about Gloria and Post Architecture. We are beyond grateful that we found her on Houzz. She was a delight to work with and our project was definitely elevated because of her. I can't imagine doing our kitchen and basement without her. She had incredible ideas and worked out any arising issues calmly and with grace. She was always available when we needed her and such a pleasure to be around. I simply cannot say enough good things about Gloria at Post Architecture and my experience working with her. I hired her to design a complete renovation of our house, a small, historic home in downtown Toronto. I chose her because of her experience in working in this type of classic, small, city space and her chic aesthetic. Once I saw the work she'd done on other small homes like ours, I was hooked. From our first meeting she understood exactly what I needed for our home and brought incredible ideas, both beautiful and practical, to the table. We worked throughout the year on the plans while we waited for our contractor to be able to start. With every update, every conversation, Gloria honed in tighter on how to bring space, light and beauty into our small space. The result is spectacular, to say the least. We have a, cozy, functional and purposeful home (that suits the needs of me, two teenagers and pets!) that is also modern, elegant and stylish. She accommodated our need for tons of storage, without sacrificing anything aesthetically. In short, we live in a stunning space that looks like a magazine, but one that is completely liveable. We are all so happy in our new home. Gloria is easy to talk to, she has great ideas and listens carefully to the client. It felt like it was a real partnership. 5 stars. Would give more if I could.

We engaged Gloria to work on the renovations of our newly purchased home because of her focus on employing techniques to emphasize the space and light of a room and, ultimately, of an entire house. She did not disappoint! From the expansion of the kitchen with larger windows and significantly more space to pull in the backyard light and views, to the enlargement of the front windows to bring in the light and views of the park across the street, she significantly improved what has been a dark and enclosed main floor. Her other ideas, from changes to the windows to recommendations for lighting, cabinetry and blinds, painting and carpets, were all excellent, and complemented the architectural design changes that she made. We were very pleased both with the process and the outcomes of Gloria's work, and would definitely engage her again.

When we first engaged Post Architecture, we had thought the only way to gain liveable space was to build an addition. Gloria was able to maximize our living space within the existing exterior walls and we were able to put these savings toward better quality of finishes. We have been very happy in our new space. Gloria designed a very efficient kitchen for us and we enjoy our reading nook in the kitchen which is one of our favourite spots. Our girls love their peek-a-boo window that was added between their bedrooms, a suggestion from Gloria in order to get more day-light into the middle bedroom...this feature has been a huge hit in our house. Gloria’s attention to detail through construction aided in resolving issues early and to everyone’s satisfaction. It was great working with Gloria and her team and we would not hesitate to work with her again or recommend her firm to anyone.

My partner and I worked with Post Architecture on the complete renovation of our 100 year-old home in the West end of Toronto. Absolutely everything inside the house was removed, and much of the structure needed to be fixed. We are absolutely thrilled with the results! Our home is a wonderful reflection of our personalities and preferences thanks to the creativity and skill of the Post Architecture staff. We contacted Gloria Apostolou, the principal architect at Post Architecture, last March for our renovation project, which involved a complete redesign of our 1928 Toronto home, and ever since then, our experience with her was outstanding. Gloria is an extremelly good listener and we always felt it was very easy to communicate with her and express our often vague ideas of what we were looking for and then see these ideas transform into something that was beyond our expectations. We think she is very talented and creative, and we are extremelly happy with her final design, in terms of its overall look, functionality, and use of space. In fact, her design transformed our home in such a beautiful way that even before its completion (we still have about one month to go; once it's all done we'll post some pictures), we got many compliments from our friends and neighbours (and an occassional real estate agent). Other great things about Gloria is that no problem is too small for her to give you her full attention and most often surprise you with a creative solution. She also has extensive experience with local builders, contractors, and trades people, which is a virtue that cannot be overestimated at the execution stage. One other thing that worked really well for us is that Gloria has lived and worked in several European countries, including Italy and Finland, yet she is from Toronto, so that she was able to help us find the style we were looking for, that has all the comforts and conveniences of a North American home, and at the same time has nice European touches that brings the whole thing together in a really neat way. We should also say that before we started working with Gloria and Post Architecture we had some concerns about the cost of hiring an architectural firm. In retrospective, this was the best decision we could have made because we are getting the result that we wanted and we also saved quite a bit by exploring various options that best suited our needs. We would highly recommend Gloria and the services that Post Architecture provides to our family, friends and neighbours.

After eight years living with a bathroom from the 80s – jacuzzi tub, plastic insert shower, dated tile work, ancient vanity – my wife and I were at our wit’s end. The existing layout didn’t work so we couldn’t replace in kind, but we didn’t know how to design a good layout. After shopping around, rejecting one designer who was too evasive, another that took forever to answer simple queries, we selected Gloria Apostolou of Post Architecture. She had an impressive portfolio, promptly answered all our initial questions and helped us scope out a budget. She came up with a few focused designs that met our specs, recommended a couple of contractors, and advised us on where to source good-quality appliances and materials. From the outset, we felt her design was wonderful. Although we had a few glitches in the renovation (100-year-old house, need I say more?) and some budget over-run, the end result was spectacular. Gloria Apostolou is an exceptional architect. We hired Gloria to redesign our kitchen and open concept first floor and to oversee the renovations. We wanted a clean, modern, bright and calming space and she successfully created just that. Gloria is a highly skilled, very professional architect who strikes the perfect balance between being confident and clear about her aesthetic while being attentive and sensitive to both the functionality of the space as well as the desires and taste of the homeowners. She listens very well, is meticulous in her approach to every part of the job and has a keen eye for detail. Gloria's architectural skill is abundantly evident, our first floor has such wonderful clean lines and perfect angles. It was a big job, which she managed with a consistently calm, reliable efficiency. The general contractor whom she recommended was outstanding and both made a real effort to make the renovations as smooth as possible, a particular challenge since we (my partner, 9 year old son and dog!) lived in the house throughout the renovations.
