It took my husband and I several years to come to grips with the fact that we needed to renovate our 3 story, traditional Victorian, downtown Toronto home. This was due mostly to the fact that we lead busy professional lives and couldn't imagine dealing with the workload and stress tied to managing through a large scale reno. That was until we met Patricia Halpin and her team. We interviewed a few designers but never felt confident that they truly understood our taste and our needs (emphasis on needs!). When we met Patti, we expressed that we required a designer who could translate our thoughts into a beautiful end product; make the selection process of fixtures, colours, textures, lighting (and the list goes on) as seamless as possible; and accommodate our schedules. Her response gave us the confidence that she was able to reach our expectations and the result was far beyond. Over the 8 months of our working relationship, we spent many late nights and weekends meeting with Patti and working through details that made our dream a reality. She and her team were incredibly dedicated to achieving our vision and they worked with us in a way that made this journey a great memory versus the stressful complaints you usually hear from people who endeavor through such a project. Our end result is an experience that, on a stress scale of 1 -10 was never more than a 4 at any point in the project, a seamless and very positive experience, a home that we love (and apparently others do too based on the Houzz likes!) and a great relationship that we’ve fostered with a talented and wonderful person. Patti has now helped us design/decorate 2 homes. She is unbelievable. She listens to what we want, then patiently works with us to lead us to answers we love. Both times we were thrilled with the look we got. She seems to be able to understand what we want to accomplish, where to get the components, and offers wonderful suggestions we didn't think of, she is amazingly creative. But always respectful. She is an absolute delight to work with. She has saved us many expensive or unchangable mistakes. When I first met Patti, I had interviewed quite a few decorators, all seemed to be stubborn and egotisical--Patti is so different. And her sense of colour is amazing. I have never regretted a minute working with Patti.

I have worked with Patricia Halpin Interiors for many years on various projects in my home. The last one being the entire main floor including kitchen (which ended up winning a NKBA award) and powder room. I keep going back to Patricia because she understands right off what I am trying to accomplish, which saves a lot of time. She always has a great rapport with the trades and does a great job overseeing the entire project. For example when we got the kitchen quote she went over it to make sure it was correct in price, quality and timing. The end result exceeded our expectations and now before we do anything even my husband asks "did you run it by Patti"?
