Peter Bolton is an amazing artisan! I first saw his work on TV, on a stunning wall in the home of Vicki Gunvalson (Real Housewives of Orange County). Vicki's dining room wall boasts the most beautiful blue ikat pattern imaginable. It is so perfect that I thought it was wallpaper. However, after contacting Vicki's designer, Leanne Michael, I found out it was handpainted. Unbelievable. Leanne showed me Peter's other work, not only in Vicki's home (her blue fireplace is to die for) but for other homes Leanne has designed. Peter's work includes not only walls and fireplaces, but also furniture refinishing and faux painting. And that's what I needed. My specific problem was how to take a GORGEOUS (but too cherry red) bed I'd found for peanuts on Craigslist and make it into something dark and rich. Leanne assured me that Peter can create a stately hue on a surface like the one on my bargain bed. It is hard to believe that someone can transform a dated red stained piece into something majestic when the material of the furniture itself is not of the highest quality. A novice can't do it. Peter, with steel wool, stain, and wax, can make a Craigslist bed look like something from Restoration Hardware.

I have commissioned Peter to do two paintings on canvas for clients: one for a residence in Martha's Vineyard, and the other for a large healthcare facility in Southern California. He is well-versed in virtually any painted finish and surface; being a terrific communicator, he is able to translate my sometimes ambiguous concepts into tangible, breathtaking beauty. He loves a challenge. He is set to do new finishes on two concrete floor projects for me and I'm really excited. He's sincere, sweet, and professional.

Peter developed and installed a waxed plaster finish on my dining room walls that is not only incredibly beautiful to look at, but also wonderful to touch. Working with him was a creative endeavor rarely experienced - a true collaboration realized through Peter's graceful ability to skillfully interpret the ideas of his client and merge them with his finely tuned artistic sensibilities.
