Open Remodel

Wonderful experience with Design-Build of my home. Team paid great attention to details and responded in timely manner. Construction budget was followed with care and communication was perfect.

My husband and I were thinking to have a new 2-car garage and an ADU built in our backyard earlier this year. So, we looked around for a firm that could get us there. We got some various estimates and the estimate from Open Remodel was competitive and reasonable which also fits our budget. Because this all taken place during Covid-19, we did pretty much everything virtually. Ashish came to inspect our property and took measurements. Ashutosh worked with us via Zoom to achieve the floor plan we envision. From there, our set of plans were developed and would include very detailed Site, Roof Plan, Elevation, Building Section, Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing, Title 24, and Structural. Shweta make sure all drawings/documents were submitted to the City of San Jose for building permits. Overall, The team at Open Remodel is very knowledgeable. We had a great experience working with them and we are very happy with their service.

We did a major addition to our Sunnyvale home. Open Remodel was hired as Design-Build company and we are very glad we did. They were very instrumental throughout the project. They addressed city comments promptly and the permit process was smooth. The construction crew was very qualified and we received top class service. They met their timelines (quite rare in the construction world!) and the team was always available for any questions we had. They helped us buy and pick finished products from the stores of our choice. Will hire them again for future projects.

Since the idea of remodeling the house came to my mind, I was looking for a good team to do the work for me. I discussed it with my friends. One of them suggested the name of Open Remodel. I contacted Mr. Ashish, and told him about my requirements. He was very nice to talk with. He discussed the broad parameters and gave an idea about the cost and time involved in completing the work pertaining to architectural aspects, design and permission from the City office. He also suggested a few contractors to finish the work. To be on the safe side, I also checked with two other firms doing similar work. I found the rates quoted by Open Remodel quite competitive and the expected time needed quite reasonable. I am happy to mention that the Open Remodel completed work within time and with perfection. Their Team members are very polite and were very sensitive to our requirements. In future if needed, I will go to them again and recommend their services to my friends and acquaintances too.

OpenRemodel is as good as it gets! We have a 50-year-old house in Los Altos that needed a full home remodel. When we first started out, we had some very unpleasant experiences with our full home remodel until we met Ashish Kumar, Head of Business Development at OpenRemodel. He was a breath of fresh air for us. He presented himself very well, is personally very experienced in having done remodeling on his own properties in the past, and he is very thoughtful, caring, knowledgeable, and professional. He always put us, the customer, first, lead us in the right direction, and took care of everything, including any problems with the City of Los Altos. Ashutosh Gupta, our architect in this company, also did a great job. He is very patient, thoughtful, and competent in his work. Getting our blue prints done right, meeting the City of Los Altos building requirements, and doing this in a cost-effective and timely manner, Ashish and Ashutosh, as well as the other employees at OpenRemodel, worked hard and in a very efficient and timely matter. We would receive emails from them beginning as early at 7:30 am until very late at night. They worked during weekend hours and holidays when necessary. They made it happen! Now we are in great shape. We can't recommend this company highly enough. Thank you OpenRemodel!!

If I could give Open Remodel 10 stars I would. I had the pleasure of working with Shweta on one of my projects which should have been quite simple but became a bit too complicated due to another structural company we are working with. Shweta helped navigate thru' the complexity and co-ordination with the City and the Structural Engineering company. She is fast, responsive, an amazing problem solver and always willing to help. In hindsight I would have hired Open Remodel for the entire project. I am going to do another small addition and will definitely be using their services again.
