This company has exceeded our expectations in management, employees and organization. We know quality from life experience so speak from that perspective. This job required MUCH sanding to remove former oxidized finish on red oak bannisters . They had great skill set and employees. Casey well organized the job and sent Chris and Kayleigh to work on our project. Chris and Kayleigh listened to what we wanted and aimed to please. After sanding down the red oak they discussed with us how to get the shade we desired. It took some experiments to get to the new shade to match our white oak floors, but we got to our desired color..Lastly they applied per our request a water based UV poly clear satin finish which looks awesome. Their politeness was surely more than one would expect from trades persons/wood artists and very appreciated. This company is doing things right from the top down. They will return for painting pickets when upstairs floors are refinished. Will then take a photo... Essence of Design will stay in our book of faves.

We had them extend our deck and it came out better than I could have ever imagined!! The crew was punctual, courteous, friendly and clean. I can't wait to have them back to do more projects!

They did not stand by their word, or their work. They raised the price as well outside of What aas quoted. Horrible experience. Work was not completed to our satisfaction nor was it placed anywhere close to where we requested for a fence to be built. Highly dissatisfied and extremely disappointed in their work ethic in our opinion of how they misrepresented theirselves to us as such a high quality and company with integretity, we surely thought they would have handled things a little more professionally and done what was right. They still demanded payment even when the work was not done correct whatsoever.

Excellent company from top to bottom. Tara and Shannon are extremely professional, trustworthy, community oriented, and treat each aspect of the job like it is for their own home. We contracted to have roofing and siding, that were damaged from Florence, repaired. Due to circumstances we were not home during most the work; we were entirely comfortable with their crew and they provided us with frequent updates on progress. The work was done timely and the attention to detail was amazing (looks like new). Highly recommended!!

We had a great experience with "Of the Essence Designs". They are a top-notch group of painters. I was trying to create a wood door look for our garage doors. Tara took the job on and they look perfect. In addition, I had them sand and restain our gorgeous mahogany front door which had been badly beaten up by Hurricane Florence, it actually looked like it had been sandblasted. It now looks like it originally did before the storm. Their attention to detail and the ability to do faux finishes is great.

Tara (faux finish) and Shannon (woodwork) did beautiful work for us and we are very pleased. They were very professional and considerate as well. Communication was excellent regarding scheduling and any changes to the project cost. They arrived when expected and completed all tasks in a very timely fashion! When the bathroom project required the plumbing to be reworked, Shannon was able to get a plumber to come that very day. All in all terrific!

This is an exceptional team. They provided creative solutions, timely work, and were always cost conscious. I have used them on multiple projects at my home and have always been satisfied with the end result.

They did such a beautiful beautiful job with restoring our 1968 kitchen. The attention to detail was on point and everything was just right!

It was a pleasure working with the Team at Of the Essence. From initial contact to communicating scope of work, scheduling and job completion - they were professional, kept the work area clean and most of all delivered exactly what we discussed.. We painted a full kitchen, installed backsplashes and expanded the project scope to include a hall bath - didn't miss a beat. This team works meticulously and I recommend their services without reservation. We were an out of area job - and I would happily wait for them to be available for anything more we need for customer paint and design services.

Did amazing job on our concrete countertops and floors. Went above and beyond to make everything look perfect! Such a nice couple!
