Ben installed skylights in our living room and we absolutely love them. Ben came ahead of time to scope the project, and from there everything happened as expected. The project was completed on time and the communication throughout was timely. Ben is an honest, above board contractor and it really shows in his work and how he treats his customers. He had some great ideas for the space but also was very willing to work to stay within our budget. His original estimate was spot on, and the project was done right on time (even faster than I expected). I felt the pricing was very fair and transparent. We used Ben Nye Home Repair a year and a half ago for a kitchen and small bath update. Ben is one of the nicest people you will meet. He is honest and thorough. He had us make as many detailed decisions up front as possible so that his estimate would be very accurate. And it was! His estimate of the amount of time the job would take was also accurate. I hired Ben Nye to re-model my master bath after watching him perform work on a neighbor's home. I obtained estimates from 3 contractors, which in retrospect was a waste of my time. Ben's quote was the lowest and the quality of his work was superb. I have built 3 homes in my lifetime and never have I worked with a contractor as professional, fair, intelligent and responsive as Ben. I am by nature a critical person, so for me to speak so glowingly of a contractor is a tribute to the quality of Ben's work. After I hired him to re-model my master bath, I felt compelled to re-model the remaining baths in my home (1 and 1/2 baths). Now they all look stunningly beautiful! I trust Ben completely and he completed the final re-modeling while I was away traveling. My neighbors have been equally impressed when they see the re-modeled parts of my home. We first encountered Ben when looking for someone to install a bathroom fan and ceiling fan. He returned our call promptly and we were very happy with his work on these small jobs. So when looking for someone to do a major master bathroom remodel, Ben immediately came to mind. We were extremely happy with Ben and Cale throughout the entire process, which took approximately one month to complete. Their professionalism and communication skills are excellent. When having to take time off from work to meet contractors, it can be very frustrating when they do not show up when expected. This was never the case with Ben and Cale. They kept us well informed as to when to expect them and the subcontractors. A project of this scope can be very messy but they took care to minimize the dust and mess. They covered the carpeting with drop cloths and tarped off areas that would create dust. We also appreciated their attention to detail. Everything turned out better than expected. You can see that they take great pride in their work. In addition, the subcontractors chosen by Ben were excellent. They all shared the same attention to detail and were pleasant people that we felt comfortable having in our home. The project hit a few unexpected snags but they were resolved quickly and everything was completed in a timely manner. We could not be more pleased with the end result, and would definitely call Ben first when initiating any additional home repairs.

We initially found Ben in 2013 when we needed several ceiling light/fan fixtures relocated and/or installed, including new wiring. He had great reviews online and after we met him we discovered that a number of our neighbors also had renovations completed by Ben and Cale (his son-in-law). Everyone only had the best compliments about their work and were eager to show-off their completed projects. The ceiling lights/fans went in smoothly and like all projects Ben took care of obtaining and scheduling all the permit requirements with the city. A year after the light fixtures we hired Ben and Cale to complete a full kitchen remodel. They were a little busy with other projects but we weren't in a hurry so we had a few months to brainstorm and research all the appliances, materials, and finishes that we wanted. At least in our experience, Ben provided guidance regarding the design and materials, but seemed to prefer that we make all of our own decisions, which we were happy to do. If you hire him, you may want to ask if he recommends a designer if you aren't so inclined to make a lot of the decisions yourself. Our kitchen was a big job which included completely gutting the space including flooring, removing a partial wall, and rebuilding everything from a blank slate. Ben communicated directly with the flooring, countertop, and cabinet sub-contractors, and even hired an architect to design a new structural beam system in the attic to facilitate the removal of the partial wall. Despite all the work involved we feel that the cost was very reasonable, we had a basic functioning kitchen back within 2-3 weeks of demo day, and all the finishing work was completed after a couple more weeks with a beautiful end result. Since everything went so well with the kitchen we hired Ben and Cale again to remodel both of our bathrooms this past year, which had previous issues with leaks and dry-rot beneath the surface that extended back to the previous owners of our home. I really wanted to make sure that all of the issues I couldn't see would be completely taken care of and I am confident that they took great care to ensure that we wouldn't have to worry about any leaks or rotted wood for a very long time. For me, that is more important than the finished look of the interior, although the bathrooms look great as well. The waitlist was a little longer this time around, which I've heard is the case with most contractors since business has picked up in the last couple of years, so try to contact Ben far in advance of when you need any work done. Aside from the good quality of work and fairness of cost, Ben and Cale are both genuinely friendly, kind, caring people and we had the pleasure of meeting their other family members as well. We couldn't be happier with our new kitchen and bathrooms, and it is invaluable to have people that you trust to work on your home. Thanks for everything!
