Neela lives in Burbank, CA with her husband, two teenage sons and her dog Lyra. She relocated to Los Angeles from the East Coast eight years ago and brough her passion for designing intimate, accessible, and beautiful spaces with her. She is a perfect combination of East Coast sensibility meets West Coast style. In 2007, Neela founded Neela Woodard Design after working for a number of established New York City design firms including Michael Foster Designs, Pappas Miron Design and ToCar Inc. She earned her degree in interior design at the esteemed and FIDER accredited New York School of Interior Design where she graduated with the highest honors. She is currently an allied member of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID) and has been awarded Best of Houzz nine years in a row.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new bathroom! Neela was amazing to work with. She helped with the design, colors, purchasing/ordering and most importantly, the problem solving! She listened to our needs and provided us with our dream bathroom. When issues with purchases arose, she contacted the manufacturer and fixed the issue ASAP. In the end, our bathroom was completed on time and within budget! I definitely would continue working with Neela in the future!

Stephanie Marr

We selected Neela as our interior designer before hiring a contractor. She helped us re-work the layout of an 84 yo home that had many additions completed and much dead space. She is very dedicated. We didn't know what pricing for construction would be, so she created two different kitchen plans, an "ideal" but likely more expensive, and a backup. She made several different plans for our crazy primary bathroom until she found the best one. She helped us interview contractors and select all of the finishings in our home from cabinetry to pulls, to hardware, and wallpaper. We gravitated towards her ability to create eclectic designs but were impressed with how thoughtful she was with planning the little details like the best place for a trash can, towel hooks, spice rack, etc. Our contractor praised her plans highly for being extremely detailed. She worked well with the construction project manager to make sure every light, switch, window, cabinet was in the correct place. She even caught that a couple of windows were framed at the incorrect height and had that fixed before things got too far. Our home is finally done and we love it. We've gained a significant amount of usable space, it's beautiful, and everything flows easily.

I hired Neela in the fall of 2020 for an ambitious master suite/patio and kitchen remodel of my Burbank home. I am a busy, single professional woman who really needed someone who could take the helm of this project, and Neela was that person. We were in the midst of the Covid pandemic, and therefore dealt with permitting and supply chain delays and labor shortages, which were uncontrollable and unpredictable. We often had to modify the design plans, materials used, and even the timing of which project to start with. Throughout this entire stressful process, she was my rock. She listened to my ideas and understood my vision, and her talent and expertise helped my house become exactly what I wanted. She also worked very well with my general contractor and the materials vendors, which was key, as I was too busy to directly coordinate all of the intricate details of the remodel. A homeowner needs to put so much trust in a designer, and she followed through on every aspect of this project, and I am very grateful for that. I would highly recommend her to anyone considering a remodeling project. I am also happy to call her my friend.

Neela was an amazing and invaluable part of our family’s recent home renovation. We did not know where to start on our plans to renovate and knew nothing about construction. From start to finish, Neela helped us completely gut our kitchen and two bathrooms, as well as design structural changes to other rooms in our house. What makes her an amazing designer is her skill in guiding all stages of a project, from the design of a gutted room, to working with the general contractor and subcontractor, to choosing and selecting the finishes for each room. Neela spent time getting to know our tastes and lifestyle, and tailored her design choices exactly to what we would need. She also always designed with our practical needs in mind so we could make the most of our space living with two young kids. Neela was also great at helping us narrow choices—an impressive feat for us being very indecisive. Neela was also happy to help for as much or as little as we wanted in our project. She was willing to help with every stage, even checking in our contractors and catching potential problems in the construction when we were not able to do so ourselves. But she also always stressed she could provide targeted guidance even just with furniture selection if we wanted more limited help. We are so happy with the way our house turned out, from initial design to the finishes and furniture. Neela was a true partner who guided us in creating the modern and cozy home we were after, and we hope she will keep working with us as continue to grow in our home. We are so grateful we found her, and cannot recommend her enough!

Garage Studio and Bathroom

Neela was great to work with on our project to renovate a bathroom and our garage. She made excellent recommendations immediately and we love how it turned out. We seriously use the space every night. Our favorite highlights: she selected an incredible glass sliding door that could not have been more perfect, beautiful tile flooring, & all of the paint colors we love. She was flexible and completely great about brainstorming ideas. We would definitely hire her again on our next project.

We hired Neela to help us furnish and style our living room and bedroom. As we worked on these rooms we were so impressed with her knowledge and ability to help us understand what we liked, that we expanded the scope and added a few more projects. We have a very wide taste as far as styles we like and Neela helped us find so many fabulous things. We love that she can think outside the box and see our vision. We have ended up with things we didn't even know that we would love. She definitely helped us bring our home to a warm, inviting, sophisticated, but livable space.

We had a damaging flood... After much construction, we needed a decorator. I can’t say enough about how wonderful Neela has been. She has been there for every step of the way. We renovated our living room, dining room, master bedroom and master bath. We selected paint colors, drapes, all sorts of tile and bathroom fixtures. Neela was very helpful in making decisions based upon our input and taste and respectfully disagreed and guided us when necessary. She measured and measured and measured! Everything is now in place for the holidays!! Our home looks FABULOUS!

We presented Neela with the challenging task of combining the separate styles and households of a newly remarried ‘mature’ couple. Combining our mix of eclectic, modern, and traditional furniture and placing them into a modern style townhouse was handled sensitively, sensibly, and creatively. Neela immediately had placement ideas for the furniture, rugs, and accessories we already had, mixing and blending everything in a way that was ingenious. Then we moved on to bringing in some new lighting, fabrics, window treatments, furniture, and accessories to give our entire home a custom look and a feel that everything was chosen by just the two of us for our own home over the years. Neela brought her young, fresh, and clean design flair to our home and yet was able to work out a blend of traditional and modern design that has made our home feel just right for us. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results and with Neela!

I hired Neela to help me with a sizable remodel, including kitchen (knocking down a wall for an open floor plan), master bathroom, secondary bathroom, and design/decorate master bedroom, living room, dining room, den and guest bedroom. Her design plans for the kitchen were brilliant. Neela initially spent time determining the style and colors I like and kept these in mind as we selected materials, furniture and colors. We accomplished the look and quality I was hoping for: I feel like my house “fits me.” I was always given options for quality and price – remaining mindful of my budget. Neela coordinated with the contractor and subs to ensure the work conformed to the plans. She was present or available to answer questions at critical times during construction. I love my house and I couldn’t have done it without Neela!

I was a recently divorced father with children and needed someone who could help me set up a home. Neela was great. She understood what I liked in design, color and comfort. I like design that is clean and uncluttered; warm and inviting; and within my budget . Neela was able to find just the right furniture, window treatments and accessories for all seven room. She selected colors for the walls that were comforting. The house I moved into was built in the 1920's and several rooms needed renovation. Neela was able to design changes that made the kitchen, bathrooms and family room feel different and be much more usable without my having to undergo a major renovation. It was great working with her.

We purchased a brand new house with almost no existing furniture as we had moved from a 1 bedroom apartment. Neela furnished and designed our entire house. She helped us with everything from choosing the furniture and rugs to curtains and light fixtures. Neela was totally on point with our taste and transformed it into new concepts that were very modern and tasteful. She gave us lots of options and kept everything within our budget. Neela is great with color and texture and is great at making sure that all of the rooms are different and unique, but flow together nicely. She is so easy, honest, and fun to work with! I highly recommend her to anyone looking.

I've been working with Neela for over a year now, on a living room/entry/dining room re-design (and various other small projects around the house). During that time, she's helped me and my husband transform our dated home into a sleek and polished, yet comfortable and family friendly, space to live. She's somehow managed to translate my unconventional design "inspiration" requests into reality, which is by far her greatest accomplishment. Seeing individual pieces fit together so beautifully and comprehensively has been so exciting. And she's also been very patient with us despite some timing delays due to the birth of our first child mid-project and our busy work schedule! Highly recommend.

I worked with Neela from 2012-2014 on furnishing my entire home. We had recently move to a home from an apartment so we came with very little pre-existing furniture. Neela was great to work as she really took the time to understand and frankly help me understand my design style. She never pushed me or tried to sell me which i appreciated. Her end goal was truly to make my house a "home" and something I Loved coming home to. I have to say she achieved that goal. I absolutely love me house. It is exactly my style but does not appear to be "overly designed" when you walk in. I can't tell you the number of compliments i get on my house and my design style :) I could never have done this on my own or achieved this result. While decorating my home was a process, the end result was well worth it! Neela was great to work with and did work hard to ensure that i was happy!

Working with Neela was a great experience. I always knew my home had potential, but I wasn’t close to finding it. Neela transformed my living space. It couldn’t be any more beautiful. Neela completely designed a new apartment that I was moving into. The results are exquisite, and it was a delight to work with her. Neela has a superb sense of style and, at the same time, she readily fine tunes her recommendations to the needs and sensibilities of the client. I had fairly specific notions of what I wanted, but with every element, she improved, refined or replaced to create a far better outcome and a cohesiveness that I hadn't considered. Each item of furniture or fixture she recommended was of higher quality than what I had initially selected, usually at the same or lower cost. She wasn't rigid, always providing several choices (or cheerfully going through a couple of cycles of choices for me); and on the few occasions in which I wished to include an odd piece, she worked with alacrity to incorporate it flawlessly. The best assessment I can provide is that I have now lived in the space for well over 2 years and I wouldn't change a thing.

I worked with Neela for 8 months to create the perfect upstairs space in our unique industrial Dumbo townhouse. We collaborated perfectly together to design the most beautiful master bedroom, guest room, bathroom and teenage boys bedroom. Neela listened carefully to what I had in mind and then made it happen with her own unique brand of contemporary, polished and liveable style. The transformation was truly magical and we all enjoy living in our home even more than before. Neela's greatest asset as a designer is that she really "gets" the vision that is described to her -- she is able to effortlessly combine her skills to bring to fruition the homeowner's dream in a way that feels personal and truly unique. Absolutely satisfied and thrilled with the outcome!

We love everything about how the project turned out, and Neela was a full professional every step of the way. Our project involved the entire main level (including the front door and all window treatments) minus the kitchen, and Neela helped structure the design process in an easy, understandable and fun way. We never would have approached it the way she did so, with the stellar results, we're very glad we hired her. The installation also went smoothly. We had trouble with one contractor and Neela was a tremendous advocate, always getting involved to make sure the work was done as expected. We let her know our budget and, although we managed it ourself throughout the process, Neela provided detailed invoices for us to track. She also was very open about which pieces were more or less expensive than for what we were getting so we could invest money in something important (e.g., a prominent break front) as opposed to something less so. The one downside was that the process took longer than expected, so if there are specific timeline considerations (which there weren't for us)' that should be established up front so everyone can level-set expectations. Neela also felt like a friend, and always gave us appropriate advice for our home and our lives. We definitely would use her again and would and have recommended her.

Neela worked with us on our living room, play room, dining room, foyer and master bedroom. She was attentive to our requests and budget and always presented lots of ideas. She quickly learned our tastes and preferences and worked within those, while also pushing us to try new and different pieces. Neela was always willing to go out of her way to find us what we wanted - down to specific pieces from magazines or photos. She never balked at showing us multiple rounds of ideas and even allowed me to join her on sourcing trips. She also never made us feel bad about rejecting a piece or a color. We absolutely love the results, and get complimented on our interior design all the time. More importantly, though, we love coming home and living in our beautiful home! We could not have done it without Neela. ETA: Neela has gone above and beyond by continuing to help us with lingering bits of our project following a home renovation, when we needed additional carpeting, wallcovering advice, reupholstery, and other direction, even from across the country. Working with Neela to create my home was a true partnership, in every way. She took on late-stage kitchen design, did paint colors, full family room, eating area, dining room, library and living room design. No small feat. She consistently brought creative, thoughtful recommendations - with a structured approach- to our meetings, but let me communicate my vision and desire for each room, even when I had difficultly articulating my wishes. At times - it felt like she read my mind, especially toward the end of the design process. I truly enjoyed - and had fun - throughout our journey. I am thrilled with the end-result and couldn't recommend Neela more highly.

Neela helped me design my entire home, 6 bedrooms (5500 square feet). Each room looked elegant, yet soft and warm. It didn't take her long to understand my likes and dislikes and just after a few short meetings she took the ball and ran with it. Aside from her expertise and style, I would say that is what I valued most. She listened to me early on to truly understand what my particular style was which is why she was so successful designing my home. I don't think there was ever a time when we met where I didn't like her ideas, samples or drawings. She just got it!

I hired Neela to turn my small dark family room into a room my family wanted to use. Now it's the most used room in the house- after the kitchen, of course! Neela helped transform the room into the perfect family room for MY family. She listened to what I wanted, used family-friendly fabrics as I requested, and placed artistic touches throughout. Now it's a useable space- not just a beautiful space I don't want to touch as many "designed" rooms can be. My husband, son and I love the room. Now we're working in my dining room. After working with another designer (whose finished product I love but whose process I had problems with), I realize how Neela's organized, responsive process was crucial for me as a working mom.

コメント：Should the range be centred with the island?I agree actually with meggielh. I think that is what was bugging me about the stove workspace room too. If those are uppers I think it would be better.
