Wow! Shane and his crew did an amazing job on our home in Montclair. We are not ready for a full exterior paint job but have replaced a couple of old windows and needed the repaired sections painted to blend in with the 10-year-old existing paint. The Nazarian crew blended the paint, from the street you would never know that the window was replaced. Thanks for that.

Let me start by saying I have never given anyone a review that is less than great; we have worked with contractors over the years and never had any issues. In fact, we have always enjoyed years of working with the same vendors repeatedly. For this project, a relatively small one involving putting up some drywall and hanging doors, along with building some benches and a table, etc., we needed a finishing carpenter and wanted to support a small local business. Nazarian Painting has many terrific reviews online and was being heavily promoted on a local social media, so we decided to work with them. What ensued was a Jekyll and Hyde experience. The carpenter we worked with was excellent and showed up on time, finished his carefully crafted work in a timely manner and cleaned up everything when he was completed. Working with Shane Nazarian was unfortunately the complete opposite. At first, he was communicative and helpful, but unfortunately, that changed very quickly as it became clear that other jobs he felt were a greater priority demanded his attention. In addition to showing up periodically, often hours after he was expected, the workmanship was incredibly unprofessional, with walls left with huge lumps of unsanded patches, and every drywalled corner looking like crumpled up clay. The painting was splotchy and uneven. Hardened wood filler was left clumped in gobs all over our heaters, requiring hours of scraping. We had to hire another contractor to repair all of the damage done to our walls - it is worth noting that this contractor thought it was so amateurish that he gently asked if we had taken a go at doing our own home repair - and a dozen bags of trash and building materials were left in our garage for a period of over three weeks, at which point Shane was completely unreachable. The final straw was that we had asked for a small table to be built for a dining room nook, and it was made the wrong size despite many many conversations about the dimensions (the regular carpenter was not the one who made it). It was delivered completely chopped up, with unsanded sides, and splotchy and dripping stain. The table base was great, having been made by the carpenter we like, but the table top also had to be taken apart and completely redone by another vendor. This job ended up being about 8 weeks over schedule and $1000 over budget, which we know happens. What we did not appreciate was how we were made to feel, which is that our job was an afterthought and we were being unreasonable by asking for items to be corrected. I have to underline that the work was incredibly sub-par, and asking it to made right should be a given. I hope that Nazarian Painting takes the time to iron out the struggles of small business - scheduling, staffing, and establishing a professional working relationship with customers - so that they can establish themselves going forward.

Shane and team painted a family room, mudroom, bedroom and hallway for me. Team was professional and accommodating. They finished on schedule and on budget. Shane is meticulous and easy to work with. I will definitely be using them again!

I hired Nazarian Painting for an interior painting job in a Master Bedroom and open concept Living Room / Kitchen. Shane and his team were fantastic; met every expectation set with high quality service all around. I have plans for another job in the coming months and will be working with them again, hands down.

best contractor I've ever hired. he's honest, and more importantly the work is amazing. most contractors try and steer you towards what is easiest for them. Shane cares more about overall quality and look of the finish product, even if it's more work. they did some built in cabinets and painting. they kept everything clean and neat throughout, they worked with us to make sure we got what we wanted/needed. job on budget, on time, looks great, and we've had no problems with any of it since.

We recently used Nazarian painting & home remodeling for a complete attic tear out and remodel. Shane and his crew did and exceptional job and were a pleasure to deal with. They did very clean work and were in and out on time. He beat every estimate and exceeded our expectations of what could be done with our attic.

I've been on the fence about writing this review but as we have spent the past 4 months discovering how much damage Shane and his company did to my basement I would be remiss if I didn't let others know considering I rely so much on reviews. Our basement was supposed to be a 6 week job that turned into 4 months of hell, not only did he not finish what he was supposed to do but now our paint job is cracking and we keep hearing "hack job" from people we have had to subsequently hire to fix everything he messed up. If you care about the project you are paying for then I highly advise staying away.
