David Edwards and the team at Earthbound Homes and I have been hired to collaborate on a beautiful new custom home in the Peninsula area, and I couldn't be more thrilled to work with them. Our initial meeting was great and I am very excited about the good things to come from our partnership. As a designer, my job is to help the client understand the decisions and how they correlate to the builders schedule for a seamless process. David was very supportive of my design suggestions and so helpful! Team work is key to great building and design and I couldn't be happier to work with Earthbound Homes.

We can't say enough great things about Dave and Earth Bound Homes! We recommend them whenever we can as they quality of work, professionalism and cost of work is fantastic. We used them for both our original whole home remodel after a complete loss fire in 2007 and then again in 2014 for an addition.

Dave is am amazing contractor! What we loved the most about him did not change throughout our construction process and it only shows that he is very honest and upfront. Earthbound homes was hired to build/renovate our house based on the fact that they are focused on sustainable building, the fact that Dave is very knowledgeable, honest and a great communicator. And they delivered! He didn't give us the lowest quote but we believe it was the most accurate to where we ended it. He built a beautiful house for us and we could not be happier! He did everything possible to communicate throughout the whole experience, that meant taking my phone calls, emailing and calling us for questions, checking in with structural engineer and an architect when he didn't have clear instructions. He knows everything about everything and we have gotten the best advices from him about maerials to use and ways to build things even if he wasn't doing them! Everything that was put int this house was toxins and VOC free. The team deconstructed rather then demolished the old parts of the house and reused everything they could. That is Green building!! Dave isn't just great with his clients, he also cares about his team. People that workwith him, have been there for years. He makes sure they get educated in areas they need and want to improve, get health benefits (how many contractors do that!!!) and are treated fairly. We were very impressed. Thank you!

We used Earth Bound Homes for a full remodel with an addition. Dave and his crew were a pleasure to work with. EBH took the project from design to completion. Subcontractors and suppliers were well managed, Dave's crew was helpful and friendly. I was particularly impressed with his approach which encouraged the re-use of materials whenever possible, to minimize waste and cost. When the inevitable hiccups occurred Dave was on top of things, pushing hard to get results. He was very responsive to questions and concerns and made sure we were satisfied with the work every step of the way. He was also very helpful in providing suggestions or options when choices seemed overwhelming. He has an excellent eye for design. We love our beautiful 'new' home. I am a new sub contractor for Earth Bond Homes. My name is Scott Shrader I am the president of Pacific Drywall & Painting Inc. In Campbell. Right away when I got to the job site before starting I noticed the quality of workmanship and attention to detail and the job site was every clean. Dave was very responsive to my calls which made working for him very good. He is already using us on another job. Dave is a green Contractor and had several special requests for the job. He used special spray foam insulation though out the home. He also wanted a drywall mud without the chemicals and Voc's of regular mud. He also wanted to recycle the the drywall scrap from the job to add to the LEED rating of the home. I would recommend Dave and Earth Bond Homes for your next project.

We used Earth Bound Homes twice, once in 2009 for our kitchen remodel and then in 2012 for our great room addition. Earth Bound Homes had good communication, were accessible, flexible and their workers Jose and Francisco are awesome! They could be reached easily. When it started to rain unexpectantly, I called Dave Edwards and he was at our house in minutes to cover things up! Their workers are talented. When there was a miscommunication regarding the depth of the pantry, Francisco took down the wall and made it deeper in 90 minutes! I found the workers friendly, considerate and knowledgeable. Earth Bound is handling a kitchen, family room, living room remodel for us. It's more than half of our 1800 sq ft home and involves removing our chimney. Our house is located on the Penetencia Slide, an area of land that is slowly sliding downhill. Earth Bound evaluated our sliding problem, bringing in a structural engineer, so that we now understand fully what is happening. We made a plan. They are carrying out the work at a rapid clip, with competence and consideration. We have several house cats. The carpenter has been so very conscientious about sealing up holes to keep the felines from wandering outside where predators are lurking (coyotes, bobcats and the occasional mountain lion). There has been NO dust problem. Two HEPA filters are running all the time they are working. The floors are swept clean at the end of every day. They will have the living room completed before Christmas, so that we can expand our living quarters. We have been informed about every change that was not in our original plan. For example, they discovered some plumbing problems that we didn't know about. We know how every dime is spent. The carpenter, the electrician, the plumber, the drywall professional have all been considerate and competent. They are not intrusive, even though we are living in the house while they are working. Also, the project manager has suggested changes in our plan that have made the job easier without compromising the end goal. For instance, by moving the kitchen wall a little further than planned, we saved moving a door and small piece of wall, cutting down on time and expense. The drywall job looks better than most paint jobs I have seen. We've also had trouble with our irritated cats spraying in the living room at night. The carpenter taped scraps of drywall over the places the cats were spraying to protect the new wall. What an aggravation that must be for him--cats messing up his work---but he has not complained. Also, the project manager and the electrician worked with the city building inspector to come up with a solution that prevented us from having to replace our ancient breaker box. The inspector okayed placing a sub-box in the laundry room to handle the circuits for the kitchen and washer/dryer. The project manager also took over selecting a roofer to patch the hole the chimney left. I was relieved that he did this. I was having a difficult time getting rooters to respond and our metal roofing tiles have been discontinued. This project is progressing on-time, the craftsmen working on our home are top-notch and considerate. The project manager has adapted the schedule so that we will soon be able to regain a large part of our living space. I don't think this project could be progressing any better than is. We are looking forward to enjoying the new spaces they are creating. I give my highest recommendation to Earth Bound homes.

I hired Earth Bound Homes to build the addition on our house. I could not expect to be happier with the result. Dave, the owner, and Jose, the foreman and their team were extremely professional and accommodating. Dave happily worked with us to figure out what parts of the job could be economized or could be done by us, the homeowners. Once we agreed on a scope of work and a price, Dave stuck with it as much as possible. We had some additional work due to hidden damage to the our 70-year-old house that was revealed during construction, but there were no surprises from the contractor side. Also, when minor changes were made to the plan, either by us or the engineer, the price did not change. Dave is extremely intelligent and knowledgeable about building technology, bringing his expertise, and the accumulated expertise of his team to bear in a number of situations when questions inevitably came up. He and Jose are tremendous sticklers for detail often reworking minor issues I, as the homeowner, would have ignored in their relentless pursuit of perfection. In one case, the rafters had been placed, but the notches making flats for the beams were too deep for Dave's taste. Jose's team took down the rafters and put up new ones cut more perfectly all on EBH's nickel. Our building inspector loved coming to see the progress on our house, knowing he was going to see fine workmanship. It's really nice having a building inspector on your side. I really liked EBH's attitude about recycling and environmental materials. The environmental impact of the materials and the waste was a consideration at every step. We had lots of extra dirt and another job they were working on needed dirt, so the dirt was transferred from our house to theirs and the savings were passed on to us. My one complaint, if you can call it that, was that some of the bills were late in coming. Apparently, EBH was trying to find a new bookkeeper while they were working on our house. Late bills are not a huge issue and I believe they have worked out their staffing issues. The house is beautiful and and all the details are perfect. I give Earth Bound Homes the highest recommendation.

Earthbound Homes has provided excellent service to us both as a General Contractor and as a resource for us when we have had questions about sustainability issues, resources, and materials. David Edwards and Randy Potter and their team have been diligent and timely in providing service. Their work has been of a uniformly high quality.
