Absolutely amazing company to deal with from start to finish and beyond! We can not say enough good things about this company. They were honest and upfront with us right from the beginning in terms of cost and what they could/could not do. I will admit they were a little higher priced than other companies we looked at but Dave gave us the feeling that Monarch performs high-quality work and he was not wrong. We were concerned about the quality of work and accountability in the beginning but as the project went on, we dropped our hesitations and watched our backyard transform into an absolute oasis. The quality of the work and attention to detail was outstanding along with a guarantee/warranty on all plants/trees. My wife and I changed our plans several times during the construction and not once did they give us any resistance. Dave was phenomenal to work with and used his ideas with what we wanted in the end. The project went on during the heart of COVID despite the scarcity of supplies but they stood by their contract and came to us with solutions, not problems. You will not regret your decision to go with Monarch!!

I found Monarch while browsing Instagram one day. After meeting Dave, we knew right away we wanted to work with him. We didn’t even meet with any other companies. From start to finish, it was a great experience. The employees did a fantastic job, and were flexible in slightly changing the design midway through the project. Very professional/genuine group of people. We had our fireplace mantel completely rebuilt. Can’t wait to work with them again!

I had the pleasure of working with Monarch Landscape on a complete backyard project that included the full design, cedar deck, large patio, step stones gardens and trees. From the very beginning I was impressed with Dave and the whole Monarch team. The crew was extremely detailed, paying close attention to all the build details, and were very professional. The job site was well organized and cleaned daily. The project was completed ahead of schedule, and we were able to enjoy a full summer season out in the new space. We look forward to working with Monarch on future projects. I would recommend them to anyone interested in a proper design for their outdoor living space.

We challenged Dave and his team to design a contemporary shade structure - a pergola that doesn't look like a pergola. Dave came up with a unique, chic design that all our neighbours and guests all rave about. We look forward to working with Monarch on the remainder of our backyard enhancement!

I have had the pleasure of working with Dave Van Dam and his team at Monarch Landscape in renovating two backyards (2011 & 2015). As a homeowner who has well-defined design preferences and aesthetic needs, Dave worked hard and succeeded in translating my requirements into his designs. I think his creativity and vision for both projects have been nothing less than exceptional. As I sit here in my living room looking at my backyard, I'm reminded again of why we chose to go with Monarch Landscape. Our backyard space is simply stunning and my family and I are looking forward to our many stay-cations here in the years to come. The team at Monarch are great! Everyone, including the pool, electrical and painting subcontractors, were as nice as can be, as well as very professional. They indulged questions from 2 curious young boys (as well as mine) throughout the project. Thank you so much for making our dream backyard a reality, once again!

Monarch transformed what used to be our very poorly graded back yard into a tiered and functional space. We have gardens, a patio and a play area that are all very well used by our whole family. Their attention to detail and materials used make our yard the talk of the neighbourhood. They also built privacy screens and added a shed that provide privacy from our neighbours without looking like a standard fence. The whole concept in the backyard really ties in well architecturally and we are very happy with the finished product. The crew was very pleasant as was the office team.

We had the pleasure of working with Monarch Landscape on an extensive backyard project that spanned from the creation of a new outdoor living space to the addition of a four-season sunroom to complete the design. From the beginning we were impressed by our experience with Monarch. They possess an exceptional ability to listen to their client’s desires and integrate them with their broad depth of knowledge of landscape design resulting in a uniquely beautiful and artistic creation. The staff at Monarch was attentive, easily accessible and bear an unparalleled attention to detail ensuring our complete satisfaction. We would recommend them to anyone interested in making improvements to their outdoor living environment. The entire Monarch team was professional, tidy and courteous. Any complications that arose were dealt with promptly and thoroughly. The project stayed true to budget and all changes were met with approval. From beginning to end we had an amazing experience with Monarch Landscape and one that we would both strongly endorse.

Monarch completed a major landscaping project, including new driveway, new walkway, new deck and patio, and new gardens. The work was completed on time and on budget. It was a pleasure working with Monarch workers, who were all polite and respectful and very knowledgable about the work being completed.
