For over 20 years, Monahan Building has been constructing custom homes and providing expert renovations throughout the Main Line and Suburban Philadelphia area. Founded in 1992 by Mike J. Monahan, we have established ourselves as premier builders grounded in integrity, quality and service. We had a wonderful experience with Monahan Building. Mike Monahan and his team were wonderful . Our addition turned out amazing. They were done when they said they would and came in on budget. The only upgrades are what we added.

I highly recommend Monahan Building to anyone looking for a custom home builder. You will appreciate Michael Monahan's craftsmanship and integrity. He was a pleasure to work with from the very beginning. Michael helped us work through many challenges we faced with approvals before we could build our custom home on our own land. We also had a condensed timeline for building due to a nature conservation requirement and they worked hard to ensure we could meet the aggressive timeline. He was patient and understanding with many design changes that we made along the way to ensure we got it right. Michael and his team worked with us to build the home that was perfect for our family. We love every aspect of our new home thanks to their attention to detail. Even after their work was complete, they have continued to provide support to us ensuring that we are fully satisfied and helping to resolve any questions or concerns along the way. Michael Monahan and his team has been excellent to work with throughout the entire process. Our family enjoyed the design and building phases immensely thanks to their team of qualified, knowledgeable and caring employees.

We recently had a large addition and renovation done to our home in Vilanova . Mr Monahan and his crew did a amazing job. Our project was done on time and on budget. Every aspect of the project was done with impeccable detail. They are a wonderful company to work with. Mike and all of his workers a also super nice and comfortable to have in our home. We would highly recommend them .

We hired Mike Monahan and his company to put a large addition on our home this past year. Our home is about a 120 plus years old. We also winded up completely gutting the existing house which also had a lot of lead paint and knob and tube wiring. Through that process we also discovered asbestos everywhere which we definitely had to remove. Mr Monahan was extremely fair with these un foreseen conditions as well as wood rot in some walls. Our home now is our dream home that we will raise our 3 beautiful children in. I write this review as a way of thanks and appreciation for so a great job well done. Thank you Mr Monahan . Our family is extremely happy with our new old home :) Attached are pictures of my 3 favorite rooms in our home.

Mike Monahan and his company completed a addition and extensive renovation to our home. Mike had done work on other homes in our neighborhood, that's how we found out about him and his company. I am righting this to help other folks looking for a great contractor that might not know one. The most important thing about our job was that it was done on budget, time and it was 100 percent complete and we were completely satisfied. If you are looking for a contractor and don't know one, Monahan builders would be the company myself and my neighbors would recommend. Ive also attached a picture of our kitchen which tells it all.

My husband and I recently finished a project with Monahan Builders. We were extremely satisfied with the quality of the work and the length of time it took to do the project. If we were to ever do another project we would certainly use them again. If there is a company you can trust and count on it would be Mike Monahan. Thanks again mike for the job well done. We love our new home.

We had a renovation and addition done on our used to be quaint 2400 sq.ft. home. We looked in to moving or building new and between the realestate taxes and the problems of possibly changing schools and neighborhoods that would effected the children aided in our division to stay and renovate/ add on. We pretty much doubled the size of our home and renovated the sq.ft. of the existing home. We are very happy with the end result. The process wasn't as difficult as I though it would have been. I definitely think that us hiring Monahan Buildes was the best thing we could have done. They weren't the cheapest bid and they weren't the highest bid. But at the end of the day you get what you pay for. My most favorite rooms in our home I would have to say is our kitchen and master bath and suite. I love my closet as well!!! I finally have somewhere to put my shoes :) We are very happy with Monahan and his people. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Last year we had a addition done by Mj Monahan Builders. We were supper happy with the the quality of the work . We were also very happy with how nice Mike Monahan and his crew were to work with. Mike and his wife who is an interior decorator was able to help us with every aspect of the job. They also have a great contacts for kitchen cabinets and granite. We got another bid on the cabinets that Mike got us pricing on that was over $80,000 and Mike was able to get us our cabinets for just above $20,000. The cabinets were also plywood box contraction, dove tail drawers, soft close drawers and doors. It was the same with the granite. The cost the of granite was $2500 and compared to another price of the same granite which was almost $8000. Im super happy with the quality of the work and even happier with the savings that Mike and his wife Ingrid were able to gain us. Bravo mr Monahan. Job well done. :):):)

We recently had just finished a project with Monahan builders and were completely satisfied. Mike and his team helped us design our addition and renovation as well. Our existing home was a complete gut. Then we added about 1800 sq.ft. What we added a family room, mudroom, kitchen, breakfasts nook and master bedroom suite. The project took about 6 months to complete once things were started. We were out of our home for about a total of 4 months. The design phase and permits took about 3 months. We spent over 600k but I believe we added about a extra 200k in additional equity to our home. The only changes orders that happened on the job were what we decided to change or add. Monahan builders a great company to work with!!!!

My husband and I had Mike Monahan and his team do a large addition on our home this past year. we lived though the renovation and it wasn't painful at all. The project was started in October and was completed by March. At one point Mr Monahan asked me if we wanted to do a 2 piece crown molding though out our first floor. I told him that it wasn't in the budget. He went ahead and did it anyway at no additional cost because he valued us as his clients and new that would make the job look wonderful. We are super happy and could not recommend him enough

The only reason I rated this builder 1 star is because 0 stars was not an option. Very unprofessional - does not return calls, texts, emails. Unorganized, can't provide warranties on items such as new windows. Walks off the job before it's completed. Bids the job too low & then scurries about to find subs who are low enough to fit the price he quotes. His subs are extremely unprofessional and provide very poor quality craftsmanship (walls are not square, floors are not level, tile is not level, etc). Damages property & does not replace or repair damages.
