We used Miken to build a custom water-front home in Fenwick Island, DE. I interviewed 6+ premium builders in the area and decided to go with their team. We felt comfortable enough doing an agreement with them to do design-assist/ pre-construction services and we did not bid out the plans. They were also highly recommended by our architect, Chris Pattey - Becker Morgan Group. The Miken team was very accommodating to order material early and store it to help prevent project delays due to material delays during COVID. The build process allowed us to get into the house in about 9 months, which is almost record breaking for the area/ scope. We are thrilled with our new home built by MIKEN! It’s a big decision - we searched for a partner we could 100% trust and we found that MIKEN’s commitment to us exceeded our expectation. The entire process was not stressful and actually fun. Mike Cummings and Jim Coffey attended our meetings with our architect. It was a brilliant idea to keep everyone on the same page and also most importantly to stay within budget at the planning stages so no surprises with a plan that didn't fit in our budget. Once plans were finalized the MIKEN team led by Sean Cummings served as our main point of contact from the demo to final completion. Sean communicated so well with us and kept our build on target. Sean participated in our selection meetings along with Michele Morgan who was fantastic helping navigate all those decisions. Sean and Gary Pitman went the extra mile and participated in meetings with our bulkhead partner for the rebuild and also our landscape designer .. again so everyone was on the same page and we could be as efficient as possible. The quality of the build is so solid - throughout the process our friends who were in the construction business commented on how the quality of the materials used were -- there is no skimping and cutting corners. In the process you really get to know the entire MIKEN team with weekly calls and in person meetings and a bond certainly developed. The entire process was wonderful and we kinda wish it wasn't over. Jim Coffey, who over saw everything, has more patience then any man I have ever met. I hope he gets a big raise. He deserves every dollar he makes & then some. Martin, the project manager, did not miss a beat.
