Michalene is absolutely wonderful and I loved working with her!! She is so warm, kind, knowledgeable, creative, and patient! She designed our front yard after a remodel. She took the time to look at our house/style and determine what would look best. She showed me a few of the yards she had designed so I could gather ideas. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted, but after talking it over I knew Michalene had a vision. She chose beautiful plants and a bluestone for our porch/ walkway/driveway that paired perfectly with the design of my house. She designed the most gorgeous yard full of white roses. I have received many compliments from friends and neighbors. Everything about the yard just makes me happy and I couldn't be more thankful to Michalene. She gave us so much of her time and answered every question we had along the way. Michalene made this project easy for us! I highly recommend her. She is so talented!!

This review of Michalene of Willow Glen Design is well overdue. I hired WGD to design a contemporary front yard to go with our newly-renovated home. Although I had an idea of what I wanted, Michalene was able to capture that vision PLUS bring a whole slew of creative and original ideas to the final plan. I was impressed by her creativity, plant knowledge, and her ability to listen to what we wanted and deliver results that were so above our expectations. We had always winged landscape design ourselves in the past. Let me tell you, having a professional come up with a plan (and professional installation) made all the difference in the world. Every time my husband and I pull up to the house, we are struck by how much we love our front yard. The photos do not do Michalene's work justice. Would I recommend Willow Glen Design? That would be a resounding YES -- and I have. I look forward to working with her again on another project.

I worked with Michalene at Willow Glen Design twice to design the front. Michalene was very responsive and I would never have been able to design the layout or choose the plants that she chose. When I've been outside, I've had several people stop to admire the yard and ask me who designed and completed the work. Also, while working from home, I'm able to look out and see families and couples out for walks. Again, they stop to admire the yard! I highly recommend Michalene at Willow Glen Design.

Michalene is a wonderful creative landscape designer that I had the honor and pleasure to collaborate with for many years. This review is so very long overdue! Michalene had amazing patience as she worked with us on a pretty stressful new home build. The project spanned several months longer than anyone anticipated and Michalene was a trooper and was there for us every step of the way. We had a very specific aesthetic we wanted for our landscape and she worked with us through several iterations until the landscape was just what we wanted. Designers don't have the easiest job. She had to work with our needs, the builder’s needs, and of course the surprises that often come from the local municipalities. After all was said and done, her landscape design fit the design of our new home and it looks fabulous. Thanks again, Michalene!

I highly recommend Willow Glen Design. Michalene turned our unused, falling-apart backyard into a dream living space. Her design was spot on and exteremly thoughtful as she made the most of every inch. She came with a bunch of big ideas, all well within our budget. She knows her stuff and had a lot of feedback and support during the construction phase. She has been an amazing partner throughout the process always making herself available and offering feedback considering our needs and special circumstances. It was a pleasure to work with her and wish to have another opportunity to do so.

Michalene is talented, knowledgeable, reliable and easy to work with. She redesigned our desperately outdated front yard and I appreciated her flexibility in reworking the designs to meet our needs. Michalene (Willow Glen Design) did a great job listening to my initial ideas, researching similar ideas, generating proposed designs, integrating suggestions, and participating in the actual layout of the garden elements on installation day(s). Would (and will) work with her again in the future.

We hired Michalene to completely redesign our front landscape. The old landscape was 50 years old. Our desire was color, easy maintenance and drought friendly plantings. Only four plants and the fringe Junipers were retained. Everything else was a new design which she met are desires very well. After the first plan presentation we expressed some changes which she incorporated. After agreeing on the plan she walked us through a nursery pointing out the plants to be sure it was what we wanted. Michalene recommended a contractor for the installation, which was a wonderful experience. The whole process was a pleasant experience and it turned out beautiful.

Michalene is awesome, we loved working with her on our backyard remodel (see Willow Glen album). From day one, I felt confident she understood our vision and aesthetic. My husband and I found her extremely easy to work with and very good at balancing our wants, needs and budget. I can't emphasize how patient and supportive Michaelene was as we went through numerous design tweaks to get the layout 'just right'. Michalene stayed involved with us well beyond the design phase, which I appreciate now as being such a critical component of the landscape project. She has a great network of quality contractors, from which we obtained three bids and ultimately chose the one we felt was the best match. Michalene and our contractor worked seamlessly, which made my life so easy. I was traveling out of the country for a portion of the project, during which Michalene sent me updates and photos constantly. She pays attention to detail and has high standards, which is why I trusted her entirely. Considering the scale and length of our project, it was surprisingly stress free and actually a very enjoyable process. Michalene genuinely wanted to make sure we were happy and in our opinion she went above and beyond her job description to make sure our project was executed perfectly (even planting our succulent garden herself). We would absolutely recommend her!

I worked with Michalene to redo my backyard. I was looking for something simple, easy to maintain and nice to look at. She came up with a great design and recommended a good contractor. She was the point of contact for the contractor and made sure they understood what was needed and any changes that were required. I had good confidence it would be done well and was not disappointed. She even helped manage some additional work in the front yard that was not initially included in the plan. I am happy with the result and would use her again.

What a wonderful experience with Michalene, thank you so much, our front yard is beautiful. From the first time I called to the very end, she was professional, knowledgeable, and courteous throughout. I had some ideas about what I wanted to do for a low maintenance and sustainable yard. Michalene worked with me to give my yard a much needed re-fresh. She began by getting an understanding of what style of landscape I prefer. She helped me identify plants that would thrive in shade and helped me find places where I could add vegetables to the landscape while maintaining a nice aesthetic appeal. Michalene is so knowledgeable about plants and shared many options with me. She also advised me on how to improve my soil and watering system. Additionally, she helped me identify plants in my yard that were better suited for other areas and helped me identify plants that could be divided, which saved me from having to buy more plants. Michalene worked with me from start to finish on my complete refresh of my driveway and front yard. It is just the way I wanted it to look! She is enthusiastic and had wonderful ideas and drew great plans so I could visualize the finished product. Michalene both designed and managed our recent landscaping project. Prior to her redesign, our yard was practically unusable. Our yard now is just beautiful and a pleasure to use. Her design is both elegant and customized to our taste. In addition we were very impressed with her knowledge of the plants that we already in our yard and with what would work well for our setup. She managed the project beautifully; she found us a wonderful contractor, worked hard to keep within our tight budget, was in constant contact with us and the crew, and adjusted the plan as inevitable issues arose. Willow Glen designed and supported our landscaping to accompany our newly remodeled home in Cupertino.
