Michael Kieley Design Studio

The job was kitchen, laundry, and 1/2 complete rebuild after a water damage floor incident. Michael was a pleasure to work with from our first consultation. He designed the three rooms and the cabinets, which we had made to order in Orange County. He installed the kitchen cabinets. He designed, built and installed the bath cabinets. His prices were reasonable. Michael is very creative and excellent at planning the use of space. Our communication was clear and straightforward. I highly recommend Michael if you'd like a room that is both beautiful and functional.

Michael Kiley asked me to write a review of his design work and I thought I'll focus on our first big project together, a contemporary craftsman house above Altadena in which we pulled out all the stops. This was an excellent collaboration between the clients, MKiley Design Studio and my company, Ameristar Construction. It's not that often that one has the chance to focus on quality, quality, quality, but that's what happened here thanks to great clients like these, we were all motivated to do our very best. The house was purchased very recently by a young couple and they respect the design and craftsmanship of our work so much that their only plan is to preserve the home as it was designed and built. Michael Kiley and I have done a number of projects over the years and he has always shown a high degree of professionalism, great knowledge and special abilities ensuring that we are working on the same team keeping the client happy not only during construction if not for many years to come.

My family of four were living in our one bedroom condo for years, and it was time to figure out a design solution for our cramped quarters. Since we could not afford to move at the time I asked Michael for his help, and he presented several ideas to me. All of them were great, and after discussing what we liked best, and adding a few details he finalized his computer model, which served as my guide while I made changes over the next couple of years. Michael's skill at visually communicating the key aspects of his design through his model enabled us to experience a very close approximation of the open feel and intention of the design before we did the work. (We probably saved ourselves from the frustration and expense of a asthetic mistake.) It felt as if the space was always meant to be that way, and after completing the project this was confirmed. I recommend Michael Kieley as an outstanding design consultant.
