My wife and I commissioned an art piece from Michael Thompson. It was unique in our experience because after getting an idea of what we liked, he did a number of kites and gave us the choice to choose one. He was very specific that 'you have to love it', not just find one acceptable. The end product is unique and beautiful, and truly 'ours'. He is personable, professional, and we whole-heartedly recommend him and his work.

In 2008 I collected 3 large kites, two small miniature objets d'art, and a coffee table book from the talented multi media Chicago artist Michael Thompson. These beautiful works of art were incorporated in our historical newly renovated home, situated in the artsy neighborhood of Wicker Park. Skilled in many other media, Michael creates kinetic sculpture, collage, painting and drawings and has a book Stamp Art & Postal History. I highly recommend Michael Thompson for residential and commercial installation jobs.His ability to execute medium to large works to fit in any home or office space has won him most acclaim in the Chicago land area .

A true creative artist and professional. Pleasant to work with and conscious of budgetary restraints and client needs. We've been working with Michael for over 18 years. He provides an unusual insight into the creative process and his pieces make any interior stand out above the rest.

Michael Thompson's work is both relevant to our social history and refreshingly palatable. I have a space in Chicago"s Fulton Market and currently have both my private collection and now a current installation with a fairly wide breath of his work. From his erector set taxi lights which switch on and off to his fake stamps which he's shown in galleries and museums around and outside of the country. I also have a painting that the deputy commissioner for arts programming at the Dept. of Cultural Affairs clearly found compelling on his visit here. As you can see in the pictures Michael took on a visit here, the kites really standout and don't get lost here. Obviously I am proud to have his work in my collection!
