Recently awarded Best of Houzz 2021 for customer service, Matthew Fowler, Architect is a licensed architecture firm founded in 1991 providing architectural design, historic restoration, interior design, landscape design, and master planning services. We have completed the design and construction of over one hundred projects, ranging from interior renovations to new construction. We believe in participatory design. We begin the design process by considering your needs and concerns and the unique characteristics of each project. Balanced with this approach, we draw on our extensive professional experience, knowledge of history, and respect for local context. Credentials include professional NCARB and state licenses, professional degrees from Columbia and Princeton Universities, US Green Building Council LEED GA accreditation, and numerous awards for our restoration and new construction projects.

We purchased a small lot on the Overseas Highway in Key Largo and wanted to build an artistic storage building there. Our realtor recommended Mathew who was working for a friend of his at that time. I cannot say enough good things about Matthew and his work ethic. He answers emails quickly. He has superior knowledge of the building codes which are extensive in Monroe County. It was a difficult task getting all of the required elements in the plan as well as maintain the beautiful design. Matthew is extremely talented. I would recommend him to anyone.

Had a chance to work with Matt on a new house project in Ramrod Key, and having spent many years in an Architectural Office myself, I was extremely impressed with Matt and the quality of drawings! Easy to work with, easy to reach and responsive to any and all questions. The drawings quality was excellent as well, went thru plan review without one request for clarification or extra notes, which says a lot. Looking forward to working with him on future projects!!!!

We were recommended to use Matthew Fowler by a well-known general contractor in the lower Keys. I cannot say enough how easy and reassuring it was to have Matthew design our downstair's addition plans. He was extremely knowledgeable, efficient, and professional. We will definitely be using him again for any future renovations on our home here in Key West. Thank you Matthew for your patience and expertise.

We contacted Matthew to assist us with our building project and he was responsive, professional and knowledgeable. He was very familiar with the local buidling codes and helped us navigate the permitting process. His drawings were delivered on time and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We had been wrestling with matching our desires and concepts for a new build to the general aesthetic of an island site for some time. Matthew came aboard at the 11th hour and was able to swiftly coalesce our ideas, existing engineering plans and the feedback from the HOA-ARB into a beautiful design that we can’t wait to see completed. If you find yourself in a situation like this, we cannot think of anybody better to turn your dreams into a reality. If you want to avoid this altogether then contact him on day one.

Our experience with Matthew could not have been better.Our screened porch in the keys,was destroyed by Irma,and even though it was a small porch,it was huge to us.Matthew was willing to help, when others were not.He handled it as if it were a much larger project,very professional returning every e-mail promptly regardless of his location or work load.I would not hesitate to hire him again...hopefully on a much larger project !

We enjoyed working with Matthew. He was responsive, timely, interested in the project outcome and very familiar with the county requirements for permits. I think Matthew truly enjoyed working on our deck project with stainless cable and teak hand rails. Matthew also helped us provide plans to rebuild a wall of our home that was destroyed by Irma. We would highly recommend Matthew and believe you would be very happy with his work

Matt has been great working with my wife and me on our home addition project. He has been patient with us as we work through the plans. Matt has been great communicating with us and coming up with innovative ideas for our project. I highly recommend hiring him for any home project.

We had a Wonderful experience with Matthew. He designed our decks,did a great job,was always available whenever we needed him and was an absolute "lifeline" after the devasrating hurricane. Thank you Matthew.

Matthew Fowler is very personable and professional. He has a great eye for detail and the patience of a saint. The project he has been working on in Florida has gone through a great many changes and Matthew has handled them like a true gentleman and a skilled professional. I would recommend him without hesitation.
