Not recommended because customer service is NON-EXISTENT. If there's even a slight problem, you're on your own. Go with a brand that can provide even modest support.

This company makes subpar inserts at best. Their warranty sucks and if the do so happen to cover a part they charge you for the shipping and you need to pay for the install. I have a two year old gas insert that already has problems and the company could care less that their product doesn’t hold up. My Weber grill is constructed better and has a better warranty than this hunk of garbage. Cheap company that doesn’t back up their product because they know it is garbage they are selling. They act like a two year old insert is like a 10-15 year old unit and say it’s ware and tear??? Really??? on a two or three year old unit that gets used 3-4 months out of the year at best?? So this insert has been used the total of one year at most and it already has problems?? Absolute garbage! What it comes down to is that I should have known better than to buy from a company that doesn’t warranty their products longer than one year except for certain parts and even with that the shipping and labor falls on the customer after only one year?? Don’t buy from them and look for a company that has not only better products, but better warranties and backs up their stuff for a longer period of time.

I have a 2 year old fireplace insert which has operated exactly 4 months during that time and is now unusable because of a defective circuit Board. It is now November 2021 and I was told to check back in 6 months. I don't recommend anyone buy this product if they are planning on heating their home with it. Merry Christmas from Cape Cod. We had a Mendota FV33i Decor installed in November 2017. Almost 3 years exactly after installation (but not 3 years in terms of usage), the gas valve needs replacing. This is not covered under their lifetime warranty and their customer service department just stated in reply to our email regarding the problem that we were past the 1 year warranty period. While we realize that wear and tear is inevitable, it seems that this product/manufacturer is not the high-quality investment we were led to believe it was. Maybe all such products and manufacturers are similarly problematic however, we cannot recommend this brand of gas insert.

I ordered a Mendota fireplace (ML47). I have always planned on installing a TV about the fireplace without a mantle. Mendota offers a "cool wall" system to be installed above the TV in this instance. I have been trying to have the original company I purchased the fireplace from to install a cool wall which they knew about before they even brought the unit to my house. I have made several email and phone inquiries to Mendota. Mendota refuses to call me or give me an actual person to deal with. I am only allowed to send an email to their "service" account. This entire process has been beyond frustrating and has held up my construction for many weeks. I do not recommend buying from Mendota!

Mendota Hearth is the designer choice for fireplaces and fireplace inserts. The options available and ease of making selections is unmatched. Herringbone brick liner? No problem. Metal that isn't black or brass? They have copper, stainless and more. Driftwood logs that look realistic? Mendota has it. A fireplace is an element that is a focal point of the home and Mendota supports the importance of the details involved to design it.

I purchased Mendota through a local dealer in San Francisco back in May. At the time, my fireplace insert was on backorder and it would be delayed until June. Then mid July. Then later in July. Then, late August. Then, early Sept - finally, mid-Sept. I now just got a note that it is delayed indefinitely. First, this is absolutely poor customer service. I haven't requested a custom log set, only one that is available on their price list. No reasons for delay, no apologies from Mendota - only that is will not be delivered as scheduled. the worst service ever!!! This is how they treat their customers. There are choices out there, do not buy from them.
