We hired Melissa to help us with a kitchen design and she was amazing! She had great ideas and was so excited about our project. She replied quickly when we emailed or called her and even went out of her way to meet me at my place of employment one day at lunch to go over things. Would definitely recommend her!

We are the owners of the Beach St house featured on Houzz. We started the whole house purchasing/remodeling process as total novices. After hiring an architect who assured us he could do everything, we got drawing back with kitchen and bathroom finishes that we were not happy with. Moreover, the architect wanted us to go to tile/appliances/fixtures warehouses to pick out what seemed like an endless number of items. My husband works long hours and I had a six month old so was feeling completely overwhelmed. I interviewed three designers whose names I got from references and Melissa was the obvious choice. Once you meet her, you will know why. - Melissa is a joy to work with. I am not the easiest client. I have very set ideas of what I like but don't know how to put things together. We had little time to invest in making the myriad and mundane decisions required in a large house renovation. And, with any house project, things go wrong, contractor timelines slip, frustration builds. But, through it all - no matter what craziness was going on-Melissa was always kept her calm, was positive and looked for solutions that would work for everyone. - She may look like a cheerleader but has the will of a drill sergeant. Melissa kept the contractors in line. They may have been able to fool us or try to get things by but she knows exactly what they should be doing and how they should be doing it and kept the project rolling. Despite being tough with them, all the guys who worked on the contractor's end loved her. - Melissa is extremely flexible and open-minded. My husband wanted the office in orange and green. I was so sure she would agree with me that that would be a hideous color combination. Instead, she heard him out, nodded and came back to us with shades of orange and green that looked amazing. I wanted to get all the fixtures in my son's room/playroom from IKEA given he will likely destroy them. She purchased and assembled them. I found out later that some designers would never agree to purchase anything from IKEA. - I love Melissa's sense of style. Every designer will tell you that they can work with any style. But I don't think that is true. Designers have an innate style and you should find one whose style you love. Melissa saved us from so many design mistakes. Several times we second guessed her, like when we decided we didn't like the colors she suggested for the living room. Instead we got paint samples from the store of the colors we thought would be better and painted them on. They were hideous. We went back with one of the colors she recommended. I've referred her to a friend and my friend loved working with her too. We always get compliments about aspects of our house and it's all thanks to Melissa. Sadly, she moved away and, after trying to work with other decorators, I realize how special she is and how hard it is to find someone like her. She saved our house renovation- and our marriage- and I can't recommend her highly enough.

I absolutely loved my experience working with Melissa! I am a working professional and don't have much time to spend on designing/decorating my home so she was exactly what I needed! Her impeccable taste and talent is evident when you first meet with her. My time is limited and every meeting was to the point and very efficient! I left feeling that we were on the same page! She incorporated some of my grandparents pieces along with new modern pieces to update my home! I also loved how her worldly travels were incorporated into her ideas since I have things I have collected from all my travels. I am so happy with everything she did and refer her to friends all the time!

Melissa Lenox is a true talented professional who is creative, has amazing taste, and knows how to get the job done right. We hired her to do some renovation to a new house north of San Francisco with a quick turnaround. She picked out the most beautiful flooring, tiles, paint colors---and she definitely knew her way around construction and dealing with deadlines. Compared to other top designers we have hired in the past (who are disorganized, not timely, have attitudes), Melissa is a breath of fresh air. She's pleasant, courteous, and organized, but can definitely handle construction workers to get things done! Her taste is impeccable as well.

Melissa Lenox Design was wonderful to work with! She had the same vision for my home interior. My home was only 2 years old and I was naive in the colors and finishing’s when I built the home. I wish I had used Melissa Lenox Design while I was building because once she came on board; my entire home interior greatly became better and felt more custom. Melissa helped me with my kitchen and bathroom renovations (as well as redecorating my living/bedrooms) in San Francisco. She was awesome to work with. Always on time, very professional and organized. She really knows what she's doing. She took the time to really listen to what it was I was looking for, and gave me great suggestions and ideas that worked within my budget and really utilized my space efficiently. She has a great eye for design! I get compliments on my apartment all the time thanks to her! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an interior designer, whether you are taking your house down to the studs or if you just want to redecorate your space to be a little more current and stylish! I worked with Melissa on an 1890 San Francisco Victorian that was a complete gut and remodel job. I had a very specific style in mind and Melissa did in depth research to make sure that we got the feel and colors I was looking for while still staying true to the Victorian details and history. It became a seamless blend of aesthetics and, 3 years later, I am still amazed at how beautiful it all turned out. She has a true artist's eye yet is extremely organized and thoughtful of every detail. I even refer to her as the color whisperer as she is able to find the exact right color matches in seconds. Trust me when I say that is not an easy task! She is beyond talented and fantastic to work with!
