Matt Powers and his team are an absolute pleasure to work with. We purchased a home through his wife, Laura Powers (a dream realtor). We did a large renovation including tile and hardwood floors, bathrooms, extensive painting inside and out, replaced windows in the whole house, and some minor kitchen remodeling. Beau Parker was our project manager and he was patient, thorough, and a pleasure to work with. Matt and all his team are high integrity people who work hard to provide the best service and outcome possible. I highly recommend them.

We were about to be new empty nesters and knew we wanted to move to the country. We bought 1.5 acres in Stallion Lakes, a new development in Hockley, Texas. We had a choice in builders, but I knew my choice would be Matt Powers Custom Homes. I had done my research and seen some of the beautiful modern transitional style homes he had built in The Woodlands area. My husband and I sat down with Matt and he gave us comfort and confidence he could build my dream home. Matt directed us first to an architect we could trust. Once we were ready to start, we were introduced to Jeff Kowalski, who would be our Superintendent throughout the building process. From the beginning, it was evident that Jeff was remarkably talented, knowledgeable and supportive. I had heard horror stories about the building process, but ours was smooth, peaceful and uneventful --all thanks to Jeff. Jeff was extremely responsive and made himself available day and night to answer questions, update us on progress and calm our nerves that all would be completed to our satisfaction. I came to learn that Jeff is a perfectionist. He would point out things that we wouldn't even notice. We have been living in our home since June. Jeff, Matt and team continue to support us with final touches to our beautiful home. I would highly recommend them as a builder if you are looking to build your dream home.

Matt Powers Custom Homes did an incredible job with our renovation! We needed a complete renovation of our 7,000 square foot home. This included new wood floors throughout, redesigned kitchen, resigned master bath, enlarged pantry, updated dining, formal, and family rooms, a new large attached and covered outdoor kitchen, and landscaping. Matt Powers’ team began with CAD design to help us see how everything would lay out and fit together. They moved through the renovation with the highest quality. They communicated throughout the process so there were no surprises. We did a walkthrough at the end of the renovation to ensure there were no issues or remaining open items. We loved our renovation so much that we’re now renovating our upstairs with Matt Powers Custom Homes.

Dewey Hennessee was the project manager for our newly bought home through Laura Powers (who was excellent) after our home flooded in Harvey. Dewey was always professional sharing his expertise and knowledge. The Powers/Hennessee team hire reliable, quality workers. Being sensitive to the history of our former lost home and possessions, Dewey was compassionate and showed this through the high quality of work in our new home which he always checked with his high standards. He was responsive to our calls which meant a great deal to us and was respectful of our schedule. We also appreciated Matt Powers suggestion on painting the den white! They put us in touch with a professional decorator, Joani Scaff who was most helpful! They made this job as worry free as possible and we are grateful.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Jeff Kowalski and Dewey Hennessee of Matt Powers Custom Homes in building my dream home. They were with me throughout the entire planning phase with the architect, choosing the perfect lot for building, and there for me everyday tending to every detail throughout the building phase. During all the decision-making process, they were there with me every step of the way helping choose appliances, plumbing, granite, tile, wood floors, fireplaces, lighting, hardware, windows, doors, swimming pool and landscape design, etc. at all these vendor locations. Their knowledge, experience, and advice was extremely helpful to me throughout this entire process. Their network of vendors and sub-contractors are all wonderful to work with and very professional. We are very impressed with the amazing workmanship, high quality, and great attention to detail. Throughout the project, they managed every detail with such efficiency and kept the experience pleasant and stress-free. Anytime I had a question or concern, they were quickly available by phone, text, or email. They were always respectful, patient with all my many questions, straightforward, and listened to all my ideas and preferences. They were always willing to explain in detail each step of the process and would work to make my requests and design ideas a reality. Their team is always professional, friendly, honest, and very reliable. They had such a great positive attitude throughout the entire project. It actually made the experience very enjoyable and Fun for me!! They continue to be available to me anytime. They go above and beyond to make sure their clients are completely satisfied. I know that we can continue to count on their help and expertise in the years to come. Their high standard of excellence helped create such a beautiful home for my family. We have used Matt Powers Custom Homes & Renovations on extensive projects for three homes that we have owned in the Houston area. He and his team are true professionals. We have used them each time we have purchased a new home - they have done the walkthrough with us and helped us determine what work needed to be done to the new purchase. They managed every detail and took the stress out of everything! It is much easier hiring them to manage each project as compared to trying to find the various contractors needed for a project. We have been in great hands with them on all of our projects! Highly recommend!!

We chose Matt Powers due to their high quality and attention to detail, also the "true custom builder" feeling is intact in contrast to others self proclaimed custom builders. Matt himself was part of the planning and selection process, but we had throughout the whole building process (+1 year) the same project manager who actually remembered what we agreed at our weekly meetings and to sometimes our surprise even got them done before time. Our wish to build a transitional (borderline contemporary) house was no problem for MPCH and we believe we got the house of our dreams exactly like we envisioned from the drawing board to moving in. The fact that we are still on speaking terms with both builder and project manager is a testament to their honesty and true attention to the customer.

When we began to think about building our dream home on the lot that we purchased in Bunker Hill we talked to several builders. We decided to hire Matt Powers to build our home because Matt Powers and Dewey Hennessy seemed to be the most professional, reliable and trustworthy of all the builders that we interviewed. Our home was built timely and with high quality materials and workmanship. Matt and Dewey have a network of sub contractors that perform high quality work at a reasonable price. Finally the most important reason that we would recommend Matt Powers to anyone looking to build a high quality custom home is that they 100% and completely stand behind their work and have gone beyond the warranty to insure that we are happy and that everything works properly. Working with Matt Powers took the stress out of building and made the experience enjoyable. My husband and I bought a Matt Powers home in December and we couldn't be more happy with it and the Matt Powers team. As time passes we constantly find ourselves saying how thoughtful and intelligent of a builder Matt Powers is. My husband and I looked for homes for months and happen to find this home based on a few construction pictures. Those pictures demonstrated quality that we hadn't seen in other homes and sure enough when we walked in it the first time, not only was it so beautiful and custom, but it was sturdy and built with so much thought and care. We continue to comment on this all of the time as we live in it. This very thoughtful design has led us to enjoy an energy efficiency in our home that we didn't know we would have. Our energy bills are significantly cheaper than what we paid in a home nearly 1/4 the size. Finally, working with Matt has been a pleasure because he is a genuinely kind person. The relationship continues well after buying a home. He makes himself available to questions and we have consulted him on other ideas which is a great thing because we love spending time with him! We could not recommend Matt Powers and his team more highly!
