Matt Cusamano, President of Cusamano Builders, Inc., started his business career in 1991 as a framing contractor apprentice and quickly found a love for the trade. In three years, he became a foreman, running his own crew for a local residential builder and had his own framing business. Starting with repairs and small renovations, he began to build his reputation for quality, reliability and honesty. Today that is still the philosophy behind Cusamano Builders, Inc. We just finished up a whole house renovation due to a burst frozen pipe in the third floor. We didn’t know where to start but Matt walked us through the process and just took charge for us. He managed all the trades, from stucco remediation, to HVAC, cabinetry, and even new window screens. He was always available for questions and provided progress photos. He came in on budget and the finished product is beautiful. Just a great guy with whom to work and I would heartily recommend Matt.

It was about a year ago that we first saw Cusamano Builders work while going through a house that he had for sale, the construction seemed 1st class. During COVID, we saw a Facebook posting from Cusamano builders offering to help anyone in the Brigantine area that needed repairs. Keeping that in mind, when we had ceiling water damage, we called for an estimate. Matt Cusamano responded quickly, he came to our house and explained in detail what needed to be done to the upper two sliders and to repair the ceiling. After receiving the quote, we moved forward with the repairs, the work was scheduled in a timely manner and the job was completed without any delays, once the job was started it was completed without any days away from the job. Throughout the job, pictures were provided and at the completion of the job everything was cleaned up as if he had never been there. Bottom line is, Cusimano builders exceeded expectations and we would strongly recommend them to others.

Matt and his team were wonderful to work with. I had ideas of the design I was looking for and he and his team built exactly what I had imagined. Matt’s workmanship was outstanding and he made himself available to meet with us regularly. Matt made our dream a reality.

It was a pleasure working with Matt Cusamano of Cusamano Builders, Inc. He did a large renovation and an addition for us in Brigantine while we were living in Indiana in 2016. He listened to our ideas and added details we would never have thought of. Every few days, Matt would send pictures to show us what was happening at the house or call us with updates. When our Indiana home sold faster than we thought it would, Cusamano Builders worked hard to get our house ready to move into. Although our addition was not complete when we moved to Brigantine, Matt made sure that the main house was livable. When we decided to put on a side porch and do a kitchen renovation, we called Matt again. Both projects had some unforeseen complications because of the age of the house, but Matt creatively handled each one and we love the finished products. I would highly recommend Cusamano Builders for any project you have in mind!

Matt Cusamano built a new home for our family in Brigantine, NJ after Sandy destroyed our old one. He worked with my son who was the architect as well, and myself to make us a new shore home. He was very professional and caring at the same time. I was impressed with his knowledge, work quality and his ability to make changes and attention to detail. The choices available within the budget was awesome. He kept me posted all the time as to where he was with the project. My house looks like it belongs in a magazine and we were able to stay within budget. Matt still stops by to make sure all is well. It was a pleasure to work with Matt and his team. My family and I will enjoy this home for many years to come.

When our Brigantine house was destroyed in Hurricane Sandy, we needed someone we could trust to help rebuild. Matt was the contractor we chose because his bid was the most economical, but over the entire project he has become a trusted friend. His knowledge of the trade is extensive. His communication is very efficient via email and phone. Every craftsman he brought to the job was proficient and reliable. We had many hurdles to surmount as the FEMA regulations were amended and our project evolved. Matt was constantly on top of things and flexible when we needed to make changes. Matt is a great asset to the community in Brigantine and a talented builder.

Matt is a true professional. He built a new home for us on time and on budget. He and his team see to every detail personally - you deal with Matt and Matt only! His creative ideas around architecture, usability, construction methods and materials truly improved not only our home building experience - but it actually made our home better. We purchased a 1950s vintage home and hired Matt Cusamano to put on an addition and remodel the entire home. We were in Indiana, and the house was in New Jersey, which could have been a big problem. It wasn't. Matt worked with us to design just what we wanted and within the budget we wanted. They were, of course, unexpected problems, but Matt found workable and timely solutions. The overall quality of the work, including drywall, painting, finish carpentry, plumbing, electrics, etc., was very high. We were also impressed with his choices of subcontractors. He is connected to people who can do anything! In spite of some unavoidable delays, Matt made certain we were able to move in on schedule. We love the home and the work he and his crew did. Highly recommended!
