We believe the project must suit the client. To meet this goal, we do not specialize in designing any one "style." Each project comes with a unique set of variables—the site, its topography, and its sun orientation. Each client brings personal rituals and tastes to the design. We value the opportunity to enhance their environment with high quality designs. A successful design embodies a strong circulation system, light from a variety of sources, and the interplay of interior and exterior elements. The most critical success factor however is that the design capture the imagination of its inhabitants. Matson Britton Architects was founded by architects Martha Matson and Cove Britton in 1988. Our work can be seen throughout the Bay area from San Francisco to Carmel. We are also registered in Hawaii and have work on the island of Kauai.
