I hired Maryann in 2016 to design and work my small backyard garden. I was super pleased with the results and the garden has blossomed beautifully these last years. In summer 2020 I had Maryann return to design and conduct the work for my small front yard area. She even gave me some pointers on the back garden to preserve the flora resulting from a neighbour's tree that had been removed thus shifting what was mostly a shade garden to a full sun exposed garden overnight. Unfortunately, the front yard project didn't come to fruition. After receiving the design and having it approved by my condo board, I followed up two to three times to receive a quote from a contractor for the stone work that was part of the design. Realizing the season was overly busy, I let it slide because we were moving well into the late summer/early fall timeframe. In the end, I felt I shouldn't have to continue following up to have the quote and work done. Perhaps it was too small a job. I had selected van Buuren Landscaping because of the great result in my backyard. I am disappointed because I simply loved the back garden results and was hoping for the same 'wow' factor for my front yard.

Maryann van Buuren has been my landscape designer for over 10 years. Gardens are constantly growing and changing. Maryann and her crew were very professional. During our initial consultation, she listened to our preferences (colour choices, plant likes and dislikes). She offered many suggestions then came up with a landscaping plan. Our front garden is mostly shade so we decided to go without grass and used shade loving plants, mulch and a walkway. Designs are carefully and thoughtfully planned with respect to color, placement, variety, and sun/shade orientation resulting in a four season flow of color. Since 1996 I have had Maryann do designs, planting, rejuvenation, and maintenance of our gardens. She is very friendly, easy to get along with, and listens to her client's wishes resulting in a collaborative final design.
