Maria Iacobucci Design

We recently had the pleasure of meeting Maria and photographing one of her residential projects. Maria was so much fun to collaborate with, we were all smiling ear to ear all day long. Her work is really so beautiful, it was the kind of home that you walk in to and know it's beautiful then you start looking closer and realize how complex the design and install really are. Every design detail was exquisite and of the highest quality material, her choices in art were beautiful and whimsical and selected with knowledge, her client was over the moon with her beautiful home and we had a fabulous time making sure that we captured it the way she saw it.

We have used Maria on several projects over the past 10 years including a living room, dining room, master bedroom, library, and guest room. Some of the projects required very creative design/space challenges which she addressed with total success that exceeded our expectations. She is a great listener who was always able to integrate the ideas of both me and my wife even when our ideas seemed somewhat in conflict. She also impressed us with her creative use of differing color palettes for the spaces. We couldn't be more satisfied.

I have worked with Maria for over 15 years. She initially created a bullet proof living and family room for my sons. It looked great, was comfortable and I didn't worry about durability. I am now evolving my living spaces to reflect a more personal point of view. Maria is sensitive to cost and quality and the design throughout the house is well connected, even though it was done over a number of years.

I have worked with Maria Iacobucci on two large projects that involved demolition, rebuilding from ground up and the other a major renovation from studs to completion. She was extremely professional on both projects; ALWAYS responding to requests in a very rapid manner and providing wonderful design advice from plumbing to electric to finishes to fabrics to paint colors and all the other hundreds of decisions that go into a beautiful end result……this all came with a healthy respect to our budget. One of our projects was 500 miles from her usual business; she had to meet with vendors and rules and restrictions she was not familiar with and everyone came away from those meetings with a healthy respect for her knowledge, attitude and professionalism, as well as the feeling of having just met a lovely woman who was a joy to interact with. On our local project she provided not only superb design help but a lot of moral support when our contractor failed to meet his obligations. She became the mediator in a couple of uncomfortable conversations with the contractor and then steered the project to completion. We love both of the homes Maria has designed for us and continue to receive lots of compliments on her timeless creations.

I have worked with Iacobucci for years on several initiatives both commercial and residential. My favorite is a "demo room" for a high-tech suite of system products. We wanted the room to be cutting-edge yet comfortable--essential for the day-long presentations. Maria's creativity and understanding of the need for function were a perfect fit for the project. The space was spectacular and she brought it in at budget! She made the process very enjoyable. Sadly the company was sold 2 years later (a good thing for shareholders) and the work was destroyed.

Working with Maria Iacobucci was a pleasure. Maria transformed our living room into a beautiful, inviting and kid friendly space. Our living room is now a beautiful space we enjoy sharing with our family and friends. In addition, Maria designed the window covering throughout our home. She did a wonderful job, from fabric, hardware and style choices. Each room looks great ! I look forward to the next project with Maria.

Maria is wonderful!!! I have been working with her for over six years now and she is the only person I trust when it comes to decorating and remodeling my home. Originally, she guided me through furniture purchases and fabric selections. When all that turned out fantastic, I had her select drapes, rugs, and design floor and bathroom renovations/remodels. She is warm, patient and sincere. She respects the client's personal aesthetic, while enhancing the space and making it picture perfect. Maria consulted on a top to bottom redecoration of our 3 story Victorian in San Francisco, including a gut renovation of the kitchen and two bathrooms. The house was a challenge, not least of all because of the earlier addition of the lower floor (through excavation and re-engineering of the back garden) resulting in a somewhat disjointed feeling between the older and newer sections of the home. Maria was able to quickly and thoroughly understand and appreciate our aesthetic and the "feel" we were hoping to achieve and then provide us with a range of curated options that made the process enjoyable and very satisfying. Despite our strong personalities and opinions, she guided us to see possibilities and solutions we couldn't have otherwise imagined, and her personality is such that I can't recall a single instance of friction or frustration. The end product surpassed anything I could have imagined and she was able to achieve a unified design for our home that reflects our way of life. I'm certain I've never been happier in my living space, and Maria deserves the lion share of the credit. She is intuitive, creative, intelligent, warm, direct, organized, and efficient. I highly and enthusiastically recommend her to anyone looking to hire a designer in the Bay Area.
