John P. Margolis, AIA is Essex County's most notable architect. John has spent the last 20 years shaping the affluent Gold Coast north of Boston. There he designed many varied residential designs - predominantly in the traditional vernacular, typical of the grand estates built over a century earlier. His passion for classical and traditional architecture led him to the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) where he served as New England Chapter President for five consecutive years.
In 2014, John joined Evens Architects as a Studio Director for the KAA Design Group located in Los Angeles, California. Recently, John joined Becker Henson Niksto Architects in Santa Barbara in February, 2019.
John and the firm offer superlative residential architecture design services on both coastlines. Specializing in new homes, additions, and renovations, the firm's varied work is thoughtfully grounded in traditional and regional precedents. Although their designs often marry classically proportioned designs to the individual needs of each client, John and his team pursue solutions that unify the building to the land. The diverse portfolio of collaborations realize timeless, enduring, and sustainable homes for generations to come.
Featured in numerous magazines both domestically and abroad, John's passion and charge is to integrate the client’s personal vision into an enduring villa-garden concept unifying architecture, interiors and landscape design.
