Larcade Larcade, Interior Design and Color

I hired Margaret in the fall of 2019 to help me redesign two living spaces in my home. The house was two years old and I wasn't happy with the overall design and decor. It needed a fresh set of eyes to help me spruce up the spaces and make better use of the existing space. Well Margaret did that and more. She listened to my concerns and thoughts; she gave me a fresh perspective on how to look at the spaces and suggested they needed color and texture. We added four new chairs, repurposed a beautiful Oriental rug that was hidden in a back bedroom and we added a gorgeous new rug to one space and some beautiful throw pillows that brightened up the entire area. We repositioned some furniture making one space a little larger, which was one key thing on my list. Margaret was the consummate professional: easy to work with and always responsive to my questions and concerns. She has access to a myriad of resources for fabric, furniture, textiles and accessories that I never would have known about. With these resources and her keen eye for design, Margaret did for me exactly what I asked her to do. The two living spaces (and an outdoor area as well) now pop with color (but not too much), warmth and a very contemporary but livable vibe. My husband and I are extremely happy with the way these spaces turn out and every time I enter the space(s) I smile :) I highly recommend Margaret for any interior design project, whether it's new construction or freshening up an existing space.

I have been working with Margaret Larcade for a number of years. Over that time we have worked on numerous projects which included: selecting rugs, fabrics and upholstery, picking and arranging/rearranging furniture, and general home style help. Margaret brings together a sense of style and professionalism, while making it fun, and she listens! Margaret is a San Antonio gem. She has big city sophistication with an eye for the unique. I use Margaret for all my primary and vacation home projects.

Really liked Margaret & John until we realized he gave us plans that could not be built within our stated budget of $80k. And we were willing to use the most inexpensive materials & fixtures if nec. Plan used Curved exterior Walls/Parapet Roof/2 Separate foundations (1 for Utility Room, another for Bathroom) which put the project out of scope for local builders & out of budget for ANY builder. We asked several times & were told these features would not add time, expense, or difficulty to the construction. Upon seeing our home & plans, 2 builders stated these features would certainly add time/difficulty/expense & could NOT be built within our budget. Larcade-associated contractor quoted $89k WITHOUT A/C/Electrical/Plumbing. The only solutions offered by Larcade were "leave out the cabinets in Utility Room & Bathroom until we could afford them, and just use a fan in the Utility Room instead of installing a split AC."

We wanted a contemporary, clean, uncluttered look for our combination kitchen, dining room and living room. Margaret was instrumental in making that happen. We bought new things as well as moved some pieces into other rooms where they look great and with the addition of new paint colors for the walls, those rooms (office and master bedroom) were transformed too. Margaret is a good listener and teacher. We learned alot and were introduced to resources that we never would have know about or risked buying from. For example we have art work, lighting,and rugs that are unique and beautiful. We did not have a specific time line to work with because that was not important for us. So we took our time with the process, weighing various options and making decisions. Margaret and her husband, John, an architect, were very generous with their knowledge and helpful in so many ways. We are very delighted with how our house has been transformed. We love it and have received many compliments.

Shortly after acquiring a modest garden home right after the turn of the year, an internet search called my attention to the firm of Larcade Larcade as Interior Design consultant. Margaret, at the moment out of town, accepted the assignment without hesitation. Her main responsibility consisted of creating a suitable color palette, assist in the purchase of furnishings, in addition to the different items of varied style and nature already in my possession, and make the whole fit together. I found Margaret responsive to my many requests, sharing my concern for time table and budget, creating a unique color scheme, guiding me in the purchase process and having at her fingertips a multitude of quality vendors suitable for our modest investment, No less important, Margaret was a total joy to work with and I will recommend her to friends and family. Margaret Larcade was extremely helpful when it came to selection of paint colors for my townhome. Margaret has a keen eye for variations in shades and depth of color and she provided very sound advise while allowing me to retain my style. She actually provided more advice than I expected and I really appreciated her thoughtfulness. We took colors that I had already selected and then refined the pallet. Additionally, she gave me great advice as to accessories, to include rugs, kitchen tile and flooring (by the way, she has some fantastic hand painted tiles from Mexico that you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else.). Margaret, thank you again for everything.

We are in the process of having a new home custom built for us. When our architect warned that the stucco would be applied already colored, so we had better choose a color we will like for a long time, I felt slightly panicked. It was Margaret to the rescue. She came with us to the jobsite, looked and listened to all the information I could provide her, and chose exterior stucco color, soffit color, fascia color and color for the metal columns. I asked her to come back and help us with the interior colors and everything is looking wonderful. She gave us the courage to try some rather unorthodox colors for the interior walls and accents and we love them now. Thank you, Margaret, for your help and patience.

Margaret was amazing. She assisted me on very short notice with color selection of our remodeling kitchen. She accomplished in 1 hour what I had been working on for 2 weeks. Thanks again for coming to my aid. High recommend!!

We had a desire for a Mexican color palette and we were looking for someone who could give us specific guidance for color coordination throughout the house. Margaret listened to our desires and then gave us ideas without overwhelming us with too many choices. This was much appreciated. Her color sensibility is acute and has the ability to see the big picture of a whole house rather than just room by room. We highly recommend Margaret's expertise to all. She also guided us in our choices of Mexican tiles for a backsplash in our kitchen. She was diligent in searching online for the best tiles and their layout. Margaret has the artist touch.

Larcade Tiles are truly one of a kind tile. The patterns are beautiful and colors are real. My client was thrilled to find tile that she had never seen before. I needed a tile that would work well with cantera stone with mission tile accents. Several Larcade Tiles worked well. Technically: the tile are a consistent and installed easily. Caution: The colors vary slightly in different runs. I used the variations in the whites to my advantage which provided the depth in the wall that cannot be found with manufactured tile.
