Martha Wassermann LLC Landscape Design

My husband and I highly recommend Martha Wassermann for any landscape or hard scape design you may need. We have used her for several projects over 20 years, being lucky enough to retain her services when she has return to Virginia to visit family. One of those projects is featured on her website. This past January she completed a master plan for the lot adjacent to ours. We are expanding our own small backyard into that property and needed some off-street parking (important in our resort town), fencing, designated areas for trash and compost, to reposition a tool shed and an extensive garden redesign to unify the two properties. She solved problems we didn’t even know we had! Martha is a “people” person too and obviously loves what she does. As we have “over improved” our home, budget is always a concern. Martha’s prices have changed very little over the many years we have used her services. Her creative ideas have saved us a LOT of money, so her work has more than paid for itself.

Highly recommend Martha Wassermann and her services! We first worked with her in 2013 when we were on a smaller budget and very busy with small children, and then in 2020 she did a plan for our new house. Her first landscape was a huge selling point on our former house! Martha was excellent at assessing our needs and preferences and creating plans that could be installed in stages according to our budget and available time. This year, she created a gorgeous landscape for our yard, taking into account the amount of time we told her we could spend on plant care and maintenance, and planning for the abundance of deer in our area who like to munch on flowers & plants! Our plants have flourished in 2020, filling out the design so beautifully that our neighbors and regular walkers, bikers and others in our area are constantly complimenting our yard. Being stuck so much at home during coronavirus, it is wonderful to be surrounded by the landscape she so carefully and thoughtfully created for us. Couldn't have found a more creative, honest, detail-oriented & talented landscape designer!

Good designer, but watch her pricing. Received a huge bill without authorizing. We never had her do the work because the bill for the design was outrageous.

If you are looking for someone who can make your landscape pop, Martha is the expert you are looking for. We wanted to redo our front and side yards; a large area. Martha brought a lot of good ideas, not only in plantings, but overall design as well (both hardscape and softscape). The choice of plants worked out beautifully. Martha was wonderful to work with. If you don't like a suggestion, she listens and comes up with different ideas. She is great about making sure everything is planted in the right spots and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty to make sure the project is done as you expect. She is a perfectionist in that she wants the project done right and that the plants are only the best. Her recommendations for contractors worked out very well as they recommended others who could address other issues such as irrigation. We can't imagine anyone who has the knowledge and skills that Martha brings to the project. She even does a great job of educating the homeowners about how to best care for your investment.
