Maker Gents

Review of a ‘Shoe-House’ designed and built by Paul Heneghan. When I asked Paul if he could do something for me to store my shoes nicely in my bedroom, I could never have imagined the unique and amazing piece he put together. At the start of the project, he asked me some simple questions which I never really thought about, for example the colours in my room and the amount and type of shoes that I wore. With this information he went and created the most amazing masterpiece that was unique to both my room and myself. It not only stores shoes but has secret compartments for jewellery too. It is a piece of furniture that everyone comments on when they see it and it is something I will have for life. Pauls professionalism from planning to delivery was fantastic and I couldn’t fault any part of it.

I first met Paul, the creative director in December 2009 when I bought my "paper chair" from him. I could see how talented he was and was so impressed with my purchase that I went on the following year to commission him to produce a smaller version of the chair for me. The attention to detail was second to none and Paul kept me informed through the entire process. He was extremely pleasant to deal with. My chairs are a talking point whenever I have friends around!
