プロフィール

Design has always played an important role in my life. At age 5, I realized that I could drag large pieces of furniture on a small rug and I've been rearranging furniture and spaces ever since. After receiving a degree from the School of Architecture, I’ve enjoyed designing interiors for both residential and commercial clients. Specifically, I enjoy understanding how spaces affect people and what enables them to feel comfortable or not. I find that intentionally affecting our outer world promotes meaningful change for our inner world. This connection between place and its emotional impact is the driving force behind my designs. I believe inspiration happens in a space when the sense of place merges with a sense of purpose. My husband, Bruce and I coauthored Your Way Home - The Psychology of Place Inside and Out in 2005. This book blends our 2 passions - design and emotional wellness. Our second book, Merging 2 Nests helps couples come to grips with the emotional and organizational challenges they must face when blending their households.

Lou Stewart is the perfect professional for a design project. She listens carefully and helps create what your dream space entails. She has the talent and experience for design, the resources needed to implement the project and ability to carefully make it all happen. Particularly helpful is her ability to let the design process evolve naturally. And working with her is pleasant and fun. Can't get any better than that.

Lou Steward has guided my decisions regarding the redecorating of our condo several times. Each time, Lou has taken my idea and, with her knowledge of the materials available and with her talent, she turned my so-so idea into something that really excites my husband and me. Lou has saved me hundreds of dollars by saving me from making costly mistakes and, also, putting the money where it will really count. I would not begin a project without her advise.

We hired Lou to help us with a bathroom and bedroom remodel project, which also included future design elements for more work we would like to do on our home. She was great to work with, very professional and reliable. She asked what we had in mind, about our goals and ideas, and then put together choices for us to consider. We were very pleased with the outcome. We have hired Lou to help with specific projects since that time and would highly recommend her services. Her fees are reasonable and we hope to work with her again in the future.

Lou Stewart consulted with me for my major kitchen renovation. She had great ideas and helped me avoid some major mistakes. The kitchen looks great and has a fabulous flow. Afterwards, I needed some help with arranging the living room to fit in with the new, open kitchen. Had Lou come back for that and, again, she was extremely helpful. Lou not only has excellent ideas but is very flexible and has great energy.

I have worked with Lou Stewart multiple times over the past 10 years. I have called on her to assist me when I was expanding my wellness center, when I moved my wellness center, and when I opened a new clinic. Lou thinks in multiple realms, from the practical, to the energetic, to the Feng Shui, to the essence of what it is that you want to create. She asks questions, listens quietly and helps to create my space in ways that I was dreaming of, but could not possibly put into words or colors or textures or organization. She inspired me with her questions and then got to work in giving me resources and helping me to do the work as well. Her background of both architecture and space and her gift of creativity and space are winning combination. I can not recommend her highly enough! W.Madden

I loved working with Lou Stewart---she is skilled, patient, and really listened to what I wanted while gently encouraging me to try new things. She has a great eye, and had excellent ideas for the issues that I just couldn't figure out on my own.

Lou is an ultimate professional. My husband and I renovated our house and had no idea where to start with picking paint colors. I was amazed at how quickly Lou was able to figure out what we liked and narrow down thousands of colors to just a few. She also had some suggestions for our kitchen cabinets that we would never have otherwise known about, so we were grateful for her expert insight. We were definitely on a budget, but Lou's suggestions saved us enough money to pay for her services and then some. She is very kind, a good listener, and helped narrow the many questions in our minds down to decisions that we felt confident about. I would highly recommend her work to anyone, no matter how big or small the project!

Lou has been invaluable to us In this past month we have selected all that is involved in a remodel of a twelve year old traditional home into what will be a beautiful contemporary masterpiece! Lou is always available and works so quickly and is dedicated in making her clients feel confident and relieving much of the distress of decision-making. We know we are avoiding mistakes that would have been made without her guidance. We highly recommend Lou Stewart to be your designer whether it be for an hour or a year!

We met with Lou for our first meeting at our home in Arden .we are updating kitchen bathrooms paint etc Lou walked in and in a couple of hours pulled our ideas together adding her great ideas. I have had the extreme pleasure of working with Lou several times over the last few years. She has helped us to create our retirement and forever dream home here in this beautiful mountains. We found Lou Stewart on the internet and felt like we hit the jackpot! Lou was amazing during the process of merging two homes into one. She listened to what was important to each of us and then help us to create a home to truly reflected both of us.
