Laura Morton Design

Laura Morton…what a happy story. My wife and I decided to get a Jacuzzi for the backyard. That one thought led us to consider re-creating the entire environment including the backyard, the master bedroom and master bathroom. We had as many as three crews working at the house, and Laura was the creative, protective and hands-on ringmaster of it all. Laura sat down with us numerous times helping us discover our preferences. We were fortunate that, because we chose an authentic Moroccan style, Laura travels to Morocco often and knows the local stores and proprietors in Los Angeles, as well. The bottom line is that after many months of crews coming through the house, last minute changes, budget considerations, and all…we have cherished every moment that Laura has been on the project. We couldn’t imagine anyone who could have done a better job and anyone who could have been better with us. Laura is a treasure and we hope the friendship that developed during this project will continue through the years.

We had some trouble finding a landscape designer who would take on the transformation of our grim 150-square-foot patio, and we are so lucky that Laura was willing to tackle her smallest project ever! We loved her Moroccan aesthetic, which perfectly meshed with the look and feel we sought. She conceived a mini Majorelle Garden full of easy-care plants that we novices couldn't kill. Laura also introduced us to wonderful local sources for Moroccan accessories. She even contributed some of her own treasures brought back from Marrakesh. And when we found a beautiful piece of ironwork for which there seemed to be no space, she had the brilliant idea to wrap it around one of our planter boxes. We've also enjoyed our working relationship with Laura. She takes a genuine interest in the life of the garden even after it is completed, and she's so helpful with advice when we have questions about the health and care of our plants.

Laura is as talented as they come. She has a great sense of design. Everything she does is well thought out, creative and soulful. Additionally, she has an exceptional knowledge of plants/trees/shrubs and knows what will thrive in specific environments. Laura listens well and is extremely passionate about what she does.

Laura Morton is a wonderful designer! I have used her on 3 projects now and have always been beyond pleased. She lives and breathes design and has an innate ability to capture that special element which results in a unique showpiece. She listens and is thoughtful and truly creative. I cannot say enough about Laura. She transformed an ailing backyard into a stunning visual oasis that now invites one into what was formerly unusable outdoor space. Laura has proven herself adept at managing an extensive project. Whether she's ordering materials, making sure the work proceeds on schedule, or honoring budget concerns, Laura's professionalism is remarkable. My husband and I found her a joy to work with and would recommend her services without hesitation. Our backyard is steeply terrace and drainage issues threatened the foundation of our house. We interviewed several other landscape designers, but she impressed us from the beginning as someone who not only had an artist's eye and a botanist's knowledge of plants, but the solid understanding of drainage and engineering issues that the job required.
