I do work for hundred if not thousands of contractors and I can honestly say that Livingstone lives up to their reputation!! From the initial estimating process to the final punch list they are organized all the way thru. I am not a customer but a sub and they make sure to keep the schedule moving along so the subs can do their jobs effectively and efficiently. This makes the process for the homeowners a much smoother job and allows the subs to do their work easily. This is rare to find in a contractor and you should know you will be in good hands with these guys. Great group of people that build wonderful homes!!

After living in another home in Asheville for three years, I decided to built in a more accessible location. As I was looking at lots, I met Warren and Carol Strittmatter, who graciously invited me in to see their Living Stone home. Their place was so beautiful and detailed, that I immediately knew I was going to use Living Stone as my builder. Little did I know what a pleasant home building experience it would turn out to be. My home is everything I wanted and asked for. The process was a dream compared to my previous building experience. The assignment of a designer from Living Stone partner IDology was invaluable in helping with selection of lighting, cabinetry, tile, paint and even the placement of my furniture. Each of the contractors was top notch, polite, and accommodating. My superintendent was caring to the nth degree and made sure the process ran smoothly, giving me frequent updates, when I was out of the area. Living Stone attention to detail and to their customer needs is superb and beyond compare. I would recommend them to anyone considering building in Western North Carolina.

We highly recommend Living Stone Construction. The quality of their work is excellent. Mike Bates was our building superintendent, and he and the other employees were very knowledgable about all aspects of building a new home in the mountains. He communicated very well about the project, and always responded very promptly to any questions. The timeline was quite accurate after a delayed start. We exceeded our initial budget by a significant amount, but costs were clearly stated and it was our decision to make the upgrades. We did not use their landscaper other than for drainage work. Otherwise we took full advantage of their professional partners, particularly IDology, which rates a separate top-rated review. We had not particularly wanted to build, but did not find a house we wanted to buy and Living Stone Construction made the process of building as easy as possible. We are finding the house to be very functional as well as beautiful. We would definitely hire Living Stone Construction again.

We are using Livingstone to build our mountain getaway home in the Southcliff community in Asheville, NC. Livingstone has been outstanding and we haven't yet finalized our plans. Sean (President) personally inspected a number of potential lot choices and provided an honest assessment of "buildability". He then evaluated the site plan and survey. He referred us to an excellent architect, and he has remained a big part of the process. He is now pricing the project. We are so pleased to deal with an honest and professional builder and can't wait until we break ground.

Livingstone Construction is one of the more important relationships in our lives, as is the relation to anyone who builds the home you will live in for the next forever. We met LSC because they happened to be the builders of several of the model homes in a development we wanted to live in: we picked the house, and LSC happened to be the builders. We usually “Google” and investigate and interview and canvas previous customers and have the FBI and NSA investigate and give reports on businesses or products we’re interested. Especially on something as big as house. We loved the house, we met Sean Sullivan and his immediate team, and our gut instincts said “Go for it.” Thank God we did. Our previous experience building a home was in the Caribbean. I will only say that experience and final product was less than stellar. Beautiful, yes, but I wish… You know the rest. LSC combines the extremes of professionalism and family-style into the perfect blend. They produce a product that is as smooth and easy as an ice cream smoothie. A project booklet is produced with expected completion levels and expense projections that have been right on. The team meetings that include everyone from the site manager to the decorator enables LSC to stay organized and keep us involved and informed. A minimum of weekly telephone updates with online photos of the progress is provided. The schedule LSC provides has built into it cushions for weather delays, and every attempt is made to remain on time. From our previous bad experience, we were initially a little anxious and we had frequent questions and needed extra soothing along the way. LSC handled our unnecessary concerns promptly and politely. LSC is a family-and-friend run business. As a client, we’ve been made to feel like members of the group. The quality of work performed has been excellent. I'm sure Sean was recommended to me by another satisfied client but I really don't remember totally how we began to work together.
