Where to begin. We entered this project with a lot of excitement, but also apprehension. This was our first home purchase and while we fell in love with the unique design and stellar location of our home, we knew we'd be making some immediate changes; and big ones. Our first project was to gut the entire top floor which consists of the master suite (bed, bath, closet and office area). Because this was both our first home purchase and remodel, we really needed a team that would make us feel comfortable and confident about the process and significant investment we were about to make. We found that in EcoHaven (Lisa Vail) and Prestige Construction (Kris Griffin and his team). We had some initial ideas/wishes for the bathroom, but really no clue as to a final design or 'feel'. When we met Lisa, her enthusiasm, optimistic outlook and determination to deliver a bathroom that we'd love was clear. "Collaborative" is how we would describe the process and that's what we wanted. This was a big investment for us and we didn't want any surprises; we also wanted to feel like the final outcome was as much ours as it was our designer's. Lisa brought us along every step of the way. She was onsite whenever we needed her to talk through vision, bring us options and to collaborate with the contractor and his team to ensure everyone was aligned throughout. Lisa's experience as a realtor also added value to the process in considering resale value when making different decisions. Lisa was respectful of our budget and very responsive to any concerns. This meant a lot to us as other designers we had interviewed seemed more concerned about their vision for our bathroom than our wants, needs and concerns. Lisa put us first every step of the way, while also challenging us to think in a different direction or consider something out of the box. As you can see in the pictures, Lisa's collaborative nature, persistence and vision resulted in what we describe as our Scandinavian Spa escape. Thank you Lisa!!
