We recently completed a kitchen remodel and could not be happier! Mike and his crew did a wonderful job with the entire process. His ideas in helping to visualize the end product resulted in a kitchen that was more amazing than I could have imagined! Fabulous job!!

We felt he was very connected to us and our project and his near daily communication reflected that. He is definitely a master scheduler that kept our build on task and he had an amazing and talented team that helped make all the dreams come alive. We highly recommend Mike Arnett/Lifestyle Homes. We worked with Mike for two years, during our project design phase, through construction, all the way through the home warranty period. Such tenure, we believe, gives us profound insights into Mike’s integrity, commitment to quality, and ability to consistently exceed expectations. Our project was an extensive remodel/addition of our 1950’s home, located in Portland. One of the most tangible benefits of us working with Mike is that he surrounds himself with excellent people, from project foreman to sub contractors and tradespeople. During 2015/2016, the hot Portland real estate market kept contractors and suppliers extremely busy. Finding quality tradespeople/subs/suppliers was hard, harder yet to have them honor your project’s schedule with any sense of priority. That is why we are fortunate to have worked with Mike Arnett. Because of Mikes’ tenure in the industry, connections, and positive image, we benefitted by way of our project finishing on time. I know it is a total first world problem and I even feel guilty saying so, but when you have to move out of your home for five months for the active construction period, any delay of project completion can have a profound effect on a family, and their pocket book. Paying rent and utilities on top of all the other costs associated with our project was a lot to swallow. We did not have any room for error, and Mike did not let us down. The fact that we finished our project on time, and on budget, particularly in such a busy market, is attributable to both Mike and our project's foreman Jeff. After a year in our remodeled home, we love it and appreciate the build quality every day. Our sincerest thanks to Mike for bringing our project foreman Jeff McKenzie into our project, and into our lives. In our opinion, Jeff embodies all of the qualities that make a top-notch building contractor: Attention to detail, punctuality, inviting personality, candor, and the skill and experience to do a job right. It is easy to see Jeff’s track record of integrity has followed him for a long, long time, as I often received high praise from people in the industry when they learned Jeff was our foreman....from a person behind a desk at the tile shop, to the plumber that worked with Jeff 15 years ago. Such words made us feel extra confident in having Jeff as our onsite foreman, and confident in Mike for having hired Jeff. One more thing I would offer to those thinking about a major remodel or home project: Our project was a huge undertaking for our family, far bigger than we had ever undertaken. We are so thankful we bought a house below our max budget and undertook the remodel/addition project to shape the house into our own. We now know our house all the way down to the studs. We were able to do all new ducting, insulation, and seismic upgrades. This makes us feel extra confident in our house and systems will last a long, long time. If you buy a flipped house, will you really know what corners might have been cut, or what is really behind the walls? No doubt, at times, the project added stress to our marriage, but we are proud we embarked on the project, and proud of the outcome. If you have a home renovation dream, we suggest you chase that dream and make it a reality.

We have lived in a house built by Lifestyle Homes for the past two years and have enjoyed the experience enormously. Mike Arnett (the builder) was very responsive to our requests for some revisions to the home prior to purchase and has been a marvelous resource after we bought the home. His willingness to remain engaged and helpful even though the process was complete underwrites my willingness to recommend him and the homes he creates without reservation.

I purchased a home from Lifestyle in 2015. I was very pleased with the builder's materials, time frame as it was new construction, and overall professionalism. I have known Mike Arnett and Lifestyle Homes for several years now. As a building designer, I have had the pleasure and opportunity to work with Mike and his team on several projects from addition/remodels to large custom homes. Mike is an exceptional builder who takes great pride and care in the projects he takes on and in providing exceptional service and value to his customers. As a long time home builder, Mike has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to better himself as a builder by attaining additional training and certificates such as Certified Master Builder and has been highly involved in his local, state and national Home Builders Associations, holding officer roles, including Past President of the Portland Home Builders Association, and various committee positions at all three levels. Mike is very personable and easy to work with and his clients love him and his homes. As a designer, I love working with Mike and his clients. The first home I purchased in Oregon was built by Mike and Lifestyle homes. It was so much more than any home we had seen and the delight was in the details. We interviewed 7 builders to build our dream home. Mike Arnett / Lifestyle Homes was by far the most detailed and fair priced bid. He was patient and walked us through the bid line by line as we were first time home builders and needed a little hand holding (trust me we called every lumber yard and friends/sub contractors to check his prices) His crews were professional and polite as we were there almost every day asking a million questions and checking on their progress. We had an unforseen problem with the foundation and Mike walked us through the bid and we were able to cut costs in other areas to bring us back on budget. Mike was calm, professional, insightful and a straight-shooter. This was a fun, scary and exciting adventure!! Pound-for-pound our house is the same quality as a Street of Dreams home. As a Captain in the fire department, I understand customer service, quality workmanship, and integrity. Mike Arnett/ Lifestyle Homes has all these traits. If you need to choose a builder, Mike Arnett/Lifestyle Homes is our recommendation!!

Now our house is all done and we love it!! Working with Mike was great for a number of reasons. When you're building a house you talk almost every day with your builder so having a compatible communication style is super important. Mike was amazing at handling everything in a timely way, with lots or communication if there was a delay or change. He can't control the actions of others, like the paint people having an emergency etc. That's all part of building and those delays just happen. But I was never surprised and knew what the new schedule would be. He always responded to my texts and emails and calls very promptly. I had to tell him I have free time on the weekends, it doesn't mean he has to respond to my emails or text all hours all days! He may be obsessed with that. He took a short vacation and I had to keep from emailing him because I knew he's just have to look into it and reply and I wanted him to enjoy his time. I always knew if he was going to be gone for a weekend or taking a weekday off and was unavailable. He really commits to his clients and is available and present for the entire project. The subs he uses were all very professional and kind and really responsive to any requests or concerns I had. One thing I really liked, was when I was at a couple of his vendors they were very transparent with costs. Mike doesn't play games with additional mark-ups on things like flooring and cabinets and faucets. Subs could tell me how much things cost so I could decide if it was something we could afford to pursue and one even said it was so nice that Mike didn't have additional mark ups, making their life easier. I really liked knowing what things were going to cost, he clearly disclosed how much changes , how much upgrades would cost and how he billed for his time. I appreciated knowing these details because he builds houses for a living and of course he needs to make a profit and I liked the transparency. However he didn't charge me his fee for things that had dollar allowances Like flooring finished, cabinets, tile upgrades. His fee structure was very fair and reasonable. Mike had some great ideas along the way and I felt like he really advocated for me, told me when to stay on budget and seemed to genuinely care about our house. His standards were high so there was never a conflict around me saying that I was not happy with how something turned out. He always saw it and got it fixed. There were very few occasions of this but, if I had felt something didn't look right and he said aww, it is fine or thats the standard I would have felt frustrated. But he's got a keen eye and really does delivery a nice house. There has been a few issues post build that were taken care of with the same level of detail and management. He's not a builder that disappears once it's done. We met with many builders before we settled on Mike and at first I though he was out of our price range, but his price reflected a complete house the way I wanted it and it required very few changes and I think his price was actually very competitive. In meeting with other builders I occasionally felt like they were saying yes of course and oh no problem in a way that was just to satisfy me, but I questioned there ability to deliver on all those assurances once the contract was signed and building was underway. Not that they were misleading but they wanted to build for us and if they say no then i'd look elsewhere. Mike was direct and made it clear what he could and would do and what he wouldn't. No false assurances about timelines or control over the permit process or being able to use my own subs or do the work myself. At first I thought his directness was indicative that he was cold or not as personable but I realized he is economical with his words, does what he says and really hold himself to high standards and won't commit to something he can't do. He knows his business, had great people management skill, awesome relationships with his subcontractors. He really is a GEM and if I ever had to build another house I'd never let anyone but Mike at Lifestyle homes do it. You can't go wrong with this guy. I'll have to get some updated photo's, where the house is clean! I looked for some but they're all filled with kids, toys and dogs. Even though he's operating out Bend now I have no doubt he could build a house anywhere. He's super organized and is a great communicator I'd let him build a house from anywhere!

I lived in a house constructed by Lifestyle Homes since 2008. The builder is very responsive to all our questions even after the purchase. The home was constructed with high efficiency in mind and we've experienced the benefits from it. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to build a high efficiency house.

When I needed my house completely re-sided last summer, I called 9 contractors for help. I was lucky one of them was Mike Arnett at Lifestyle. I'd heard from friends that he builds great homes, but it turns out they do remodeling too. My experience was outstanding. They were responsive, inspecting my place the day after I called and offering me a range of options as well as good, seasoned, professional advice. Mike listens more than he talks. He took time to understand what I wanted, and he made it happen fast, which was surprising (several Portland contractors told me they were too busy and couldn't take care of my place until fall!). His crew was done earlier than the time quoted. My property was cleaned carefully of any construction debris. The work itself was beautiful. If you're looking for low-bid, Lifestyle isn't your contractor. His price was middle-of-the pack, but the service was top shelf. You can trust this guy, and he delivers.

Bill and I became aware of Mike Arnett and his LIFESTYLE HOMES company in the STREET OF DREAMS show in West Linn in 1994. We bought property in 1997. My husband interviewed several builders and found Mike to be the overall best fit for us. We wanted our home to be a reflection of our dreams and style and not a builders house. My husband wanted to be very involved in the build out. Mike allowed for Bill to be a part. We worked with Mike for about a year and a half. Throughout the process, we had many change orders. Twice Bill and Mike had a difference of opinion and both times they worked through it with respect and a successful decision. We became friends, good friends throughout the process. At our open house, we honored Mike with pride and grateful emotions. Mike is a honest and good man. One that holds to the codes of ethics and runs a solid business with integrity. We would definitely recommend Lifestyle Homes for any building or reconstruction project. We had a very tight deadline and Mike and his crew put in many long hours in order to complete the project on time. Our project was a reconstruction due to a toilet overflow and black water contamination. Mike is very knowledgeable and his experience and connections made our project as smooth and painless as possible. Mike completed our reconstruction under budget and on time. The quality of his work is very high and we are extremely happy that we hired Lifestyle Homes. We would use Lifestyle Homes for future projects.

We hired Mike and company because he presented a clean, competitive and professional bid that cut out all the nonsense we had received from other contracting companies, and we could not be more satisfied with the results of our choice. We contracted with Mike Arnett, Lifestyle Homes, to do a complete rehab/remodel of our recently purchased house and to build a large woodworking shop and a garage. The rehab/remodel was a challenge because the bones of the house were limiting options and our budget was limited. We didn't want to invest more than the house would be worth as a resale. Adding that to the challenge was we were two recently retirees from Wisconsin and completely new to the Oregon scene. The project stayed within our amended budges, amendments we requested, and was completed within the schedule. The project was a success. The woodworking shop was very successful working around my newness to the endeavor. I needed help to understand the implications of what I wanted. The project was a success. Mike is a very good contractor and businessman. He was fair with us throughout the project as the unexpected issues arose. He managed his sub-contactors to give us value.

"I would highly recommend Michael Arnett to be your contractor. We had a great experience with him in our major remodel of our home and we love it!! Prior to using Michael we had a smaller house in SW Portland we had done some remodeling to and was not as easy as an experience as we did with Michael.. Michael was spot on in his budget and as we went along with any upgrades etc. he was so consistent in letting us know if we chose added cost. I honestly will recommend him to anyone.
